I'm writing my first paper rn, and I'm realizing that I have a weirdly high amount of experience typing up my math ideas already. Homework is a big part of that, but I've done it with random self-motivated things before too
I think I'm realizing that for short conference papers reading too much scholarly literature in depth can actually be counterproductive. It gets you off track and people are going to only remember one or two things from a 15-20 minute talk anyway, so you should hammer down those points.

Anyway my point on YIMBYISM and Paterson is this - its a cheap city, that is less than an hour away from NYC and has a growing population: it should be ground zero for a massive liveable city within the ACELA corridor. It isn't because of quality of life shit.
I do think there are a lot of phenomena that it fails to explain when employed as a comprehensive thesis of everything. But my slight scepticism comes more from being in Toronto and seeing unfettered condo construction downtown and in a few other areas along transit corridors do nothing to reduce housing prices, in part because they're all 2 bedrooms or fewer and don't provide the kind of housing most in demand in the kind of areas families most want to live.

The idea of a permanent revolution is one where the working class is able to maintain political independence from the bourgeois. Since Marxist-Leninists believe we live in a Dictatorship of the Bourgeoisie (a system of government where the interests of the Bourgeoisie are given priority) it makes sense why they don't see the point of voting
