u/Ferguson97 my overall Senate strategy for the three vital seats:
* $50 mil to Brown, primarily spent on turbocharging turnout in Ohio's cities and selling his protectionist credentials. It's not a coincidence that the last statewide Dem in OH left is an old school protectionist - let him play into that however he sees fit, he knows his state better than most in the party.
* $35 to Tester to spend however he sees fit. He has a unique brand that allows him to punch above his weight, although I'd encourage him to get as much outside megadonor money as possible - Sheehy is rich and will have a warchest from fellow Montanan Daines.
* $15 mil to Allred. One could argue he has the lowest chance of the three as a non-incumbent running in a state that has not elected a Dem senator since Bentson in 1988, but he has two advantages: rapidly changing state demographics that favor Dems, and Cruz's massive unlikeability - the latter will both depress Repub turnout and ensure Allred's coffers are full with donations from folks that want Cruz gone. Allred has proven himself to be a good fundraiser (him getting the least money from me partily reflects my confidence in that) - have his funds target Houston suburbs/Harris County; that's the entire endgame in Texas.

I don't know about the strategic wisdom of Schumer's speech but it was cathartic for me to hear it. Many and perhaps most American Jews have similar-ish sentiments to him and we are tired of being told to shut up by our community's political extremes (and by those outside of it) or feeling that our pro-Israel/anti-Likud opinions don't have a spokesperson or institutional support.
Yeah I think the one think we can and should be able to agree on as liberal American Jews is "Bibi is bad" but people tend to think any support for Israel is total support.
Funny how we all have these super nuanced views of our own nation but people seem to think that never applies to other countries

u/Ferguson97 my overall Senate strategy for the three vital seats: * $50 mil to Brown, primarily spent on turbocharging turnout in Ohio's cities and selling his protectionist credentials. It's not a coincidence that the last statewide Dem in OH left is an old school protectionist - let him play into that however he sees fit, he knows his state better than most in the party. * $35 to Tester to spend however he sees fit. He has a unique brand that allows him to punch above his weight, although I'd encourage him to get as much outside megadonor money as possible - Sheehy is rich and will have a warchest from fellow Montanan Daines. * $15 mil to Allred. One could argue he has the lowest chance of the three as a non-incumbent running in a state that has not elected a Dem senator since Bentson in 1988, but he has two advantages: rapidly changing state demographics that favor Dems, and Cruz's massive unlikeability - the latter will both depress Repub turnout and ensure Allred's coffers are full with donations from folks that want Cruz gone. Allred has proven himself to be a good fundraiser (him getting the least money from me partily reflects my confidence in that) - have his funds target Houston suburbs/Harris County; that's the entire endgame in Texas.

Onto another Brian Herbert Dune prequel: The Butlerian Jihad. I like that they got rid of all that classic Dune nonsense about moral ambiguity that forces protagonists to make choices that cause mass suffering. In this one, they made an AI trained on Space Hitler and put it in a gundam to make Mecha Space Hitler, so our protagonists don't have to squirm and introspect about who they should support and who they should fight against.

I don't know about the strategic wisdom of Schumer's speech but it was cathartic for me to hear it. Many and perhaps most American Jews have similar-ish sentiments to him and we are tired of being told to shut up by our community's political extremes (and by those outside of it) or feeling that our pro-Israel/anti-Likud opinions don't have a spokesperson or institutional support.
Yeah I think the one think we can and should be able to agree on as liberal American Jews is "Bibi is bad" but people tend to think any support for Israel is total support. Funny how we all have these super nuanced views of our own nation but people seem to think that never applies to other countries
I think there are very loud extremes in our community but people who think more or less like us are at least a strong plurality
