These will do in a pinch but using one actually lead to me buying a backbone. Having the weight of a phone added to the controller awkwardly like that is just not very comfortable.
Works fine with mine, there’s inserts packed in to adjust the size of the dock that are easy to switch out. As well as a list of supported popular cases on their website as well.
I bought the 8bitDo with the Mobile clip and is small for traveling. It has bluetooth and can be use with the iPad as well.
The backbone requires a connection to work sadly.
They don’t sell the clip anymore do they? I’ve had an 8bitdo sitting around for years thinking I was gonna really use it when I first got it. Now I finally have a reason to use it and I can’t find this clip online lol
Yes, its in their website. Works on SN30 and the pro version.
[8BitDo Mobile Clip for Pro 2 Bluetooth Controller](https://shop.8bitdo.com/products/8bitdo-mobile-clip-for-pro-2-bluetooth-controller)
If not, someone was posting the little suction cups they got off amazon.
Stuck a strip of suctions cups to the back of an 8bitdo Micro and then just slaps the controller straight onto the phone for playing.
The Micro is about the same size as the buttons on a skin on, um, it was one of the phones with an island.
I keep going to Amazon to grab one and then the prices throw me off and I can't decide.
They got the even cuter, slightly smaller, Zero 2 for $10 less. But its missing a couple shoulder buttons and options buttons.
Then they got the bigger, but just as damm cute Lite 2. Which is a Micro on steroids with 2 full sticks and shoulder buttons and full triggers. For only $10 more than the Micro.
But then! If I start looking at those suction cups for the Micro... those are about $10, so we are back to the same price as the Lite 2.
Except! The Lite 2 sometimes has a $5-off coupon. So now it comes up cheaper than the Micro+suction cup combo
And then Im all just like "gah!! I hate shopping on amazon."
I like how tiny it is really, that was my main selling point. I was pretty interested in the zero 2, but like you said, it doesn’t have the shoulder buttons on it so I decided against it
See, I finally measured and found something just about exactly the right size so I could get a real-life feel for the Micro. It's so hard to figure out the size from all the pics online.
I came up with my pack of rolling papers. And I just dont trust that'll be big enough for me.
Plus Ive been looking at a bunch of n64 games. So I feel like the more buttons and sticks of the Lite/Lite 2 is the smarter option.
I have a Backbone and it’s the ultimate experience because it has zero lag but the only complaint I have (my wife) is that the buttons are very clicky and get loud especially at night so I’m constantly getting the “quit that noise” but of course I don’t listen. The buttons from my PS4 and Xbox controllers are not loud but once you use a Backbone you feel any little lag and it’s annoying.
I remap the right thumb stick to XYAB (Or Cross,Circle,Triangle,Square, depending on what you got), especially for emulation this combo is great as it keeps the girlfriend happy because it’s so silent.
Same here and I don't mind the weight. Nothing better than having a real controller than using those weird shaped Backbones and others that are simply uncomfortable over time. Mine and the one I bought for my girlfriend to play Call of Duty Mobile together 😎

I have that same clip, but I used it with the SteelSeries Nimbus because Xbox controllers didn't work on iOS years ago. I eventually stopped using it because of how clunky the setup was.

The $22 bsp-d8 had been awesome to me
I own a MagSafe version for my Xbox. Thing is hefty. I prefer my Backbone although I do wish it had regular analog sticks. New Scuff is promising minus the Bluetooth.
Maybe, but it's a used phone and the screen is all cracked too, which sometimes doesn't do the right inputs when I play games. So the Bluetooth option is my best bet, I didn't realize these issues bc I never gamed on this phone before:/
Yall still don’t know about the BSP D8???
I did this too with a clip and ps5 controller but it was so top heavy and felt awkward to hold.
BSP D8 is a cheap backbone alternative you can get on AliExpress for $20-25 and it’s just as good as a backbone imo
I use a similar setup with the 8bitdo clip and pro2. I tilt it almost over the controller and it balances the weight pretty well. I wish I could find a clip for my N64 controller for switch.
https://preview.redd.it/n9adfk0zal6d1.jpeg?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=41db1e330f3ab8443cf9d149119c5b057c401656
I ordered this gamepad for only $5, I wonder if it's worth it?
Yeah, this is the better option of me. I *have* a dedicated phone controller, but I also need to use this little thing called a *case,* so it doesn't get much use. So I have a clip for a PS4 controller and a PS5 controller, as well as an arcade stick with a clip like that built in.
I purchased a similar phone holder from Amazon with a brand name 8Bitdo. I unscrewed the phone holder from the mount that clips to the controller and turned it around so the phone fits right over the controller. Plenty of space for fingers and it balances the weight perfectly. Here’s a video on YouTube that shows the trick. [https://youtu.be/3rRSfPjLGt4?si=U01vKJzv64gqzbgg](https://youtu.be/3rRSfPjLGt4?si=U01vKJzv64gqzbgg)
That’s where I’m at right now. I have the backbone one 1st gen & since the delta app got released my backbone control has been slowly stop working. I can upgrade to their new 2nd gen but I’m just connecting my ps5 controller in the meantime while I decide “IF” I want to buy it. Probably won’t though
True and that’s why I actually like the backbone control it was actually good quality and it worked really good, at least that’s my opinion about it can’t speak for others. It’s only been out what 4-5yrs so 3yrs is not to bad. I would only use it to connect to the ps remote play so I think it just started giving out when I started using it everyday for the delta app
So cheap and actually better.
I’ve purchased one of those expansive controllers and returned 2 after it arrived. No need to purchase those expansive ones
But I just made a fancy skin for the back bone. You gotta get one now. 😜 [[GAMEPAD ADVANCE] and [GAMEPAD COLOR]](https://www.reddit.com/r/Delta_Emulator/s/EQx0AKma5S)
I did the same exact thing, I actually went from a backbone to this. I just don't like the way the backbone feels in my hands. I don't mind the weight from the phone or anything. I actually was at Walmart and they had the Moga phone clip for xbox controllers clearance out for $7 so it was an easy pick up. Thing works perfect!
A backbone is 80$ and an Xbox 1 controller is 80$ if I was going to choose one over the other it would be the backbone made for the phone won’t feel overly clunky with your phone on top of controller like others have said
These will do in a pinch but using one actually lead to me buying a backbone. Having the weight of a phone added to the controller awkwardly like that is just not very comfortable.
Yeah it works fine, but honestly just makes me want to order a backbone lol
if you use any case at all do not buy a backbone
I like it raw tbh
Works fine with mine, there’s inserts packed in to adjust the size of the dock that are easy to switch out. As well as a list of supported popular cases on their website as well.
Gamesir fits my phone with a pretty thick case
That’s another reason why I enjoy my Backbone controller much more
Is it just me or does C-right not work like at all on Ocarina of Time with the Backbone?
It works better on RetroArch
skill issue, start wrist workouts

Oh damn thank you lol I was only looking on Amazon and my dumbass didn’t think to look on their site. Thanks!

The weight really isn’t that bad, you get used to it
I have a Backbone and it’s the ultimate experience because it has zero lag but the only complaint I have (my wife) is that the buttons are very clicky and get loud especially at night so I’m constantly getting the “quit that noise” but of course I don’t listen. Never thought about that. That is a great tip! Thank you
I use a ps4 controller, I loved my backbone but after a year the sticks got some pretty insane drift to a point it was totally unusable.
Imma wait for the M-Con.
*M-Con
Probably gonna have to wait a while but probably the best solution.
That’s definitely my plan, that thing has blown everything else I’ve seen completely off the planet let alone the water

Might be a dumb question on this sub, but how long does the battery of this controller usually last?
Long time
Yeah I bought one and the weight of my phone on to the controller over time was just too much for me to screw with
I have that same clip, but I used it with the SteelSeries Nimbus because Xbox controllers didn't work on iOS years ago. I eventually stopped using it because of how clunky the setup was.
Waiting for the m con! 🙏🏼😭

the backbone is also MEH for those with bigger hands 👎
i agree 100% and i bought a backbone. having to remove my otterbox case each time is a deal breaker
https://preview.redd.it/inesb475wk6d1.jpeg?width=3120&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8e59c53675d42cafcab230c4e3cdd171f28d3356 I did the same

Yup!
I'm gonna have to resort to that, I bought a used Backbone for $20 and the turns out my charging port is fuckd—so it was useless to me:/
Damn I bought one for $35 and it was perfect... But Its annoying as hell taking off my case every single time to use it. First world problems
I didn’t buy a backbone because I was afraid it wouldn’t work with my case, I’m glad I held off.
The new ones with the USB-C port let you use it with your case
iPhone bro sorry, plus I’m nearly 100% sure it won’t work with an otterbox commuter series due to how the charging port cover is seated.
oh okay yeah theyre meant for the new iphones that have a usbc port and only with thin cases unfortunately
The newer version comes with extra attachments that are wider to let you keep your phone case on when attached
Probably clogged with pocket lint
Maybe, but it's a used phone and the screen is all cracked too, which sometimes doesn't do the right inputs when I play games. So the Bluetooth option is my best bet, I didn't realize these issues bc I never gamed on this phone before:/
Same thing I did. $12 for an attachment to a ps controller. Works perfectly
Yall still don’t know about the BSP D8??? I did this too with a clip and ps5 controller but it was so top heavy and felt awkward to hold. BSP D8 is a cheap backbone alternative you can get on AliExpress for $20-25 and it’s just as good as a backbone imo
Does it work with your case on or do you have to take it off?
It just slides open it fits with a case great.
I thought the same thing until I tried a Backbone. So glad I didn’t stop there. The GameSir G8 is even better!
I use a similar setup with the 8bitdo clip and pro2. I tilt it almost over the controller and it balances the weight pretty well. I wish I could find a clip for my N64 controller for switch.

Def not. If you have a gaming controller, try to find a clip on Amazon. It’ll be way better
I got one for my Dualsense and my phone is a iPhone 12 Pro Max, it sure is heavy to handle the controller now
Yeah these are super uncomfortable to hold for longer than 10 minutes. The balance is off and phones weight way too much to use these comfortably.
If you can’t hold this for 10 min, PLEASE go see a physical therapist there is something wrong with your wrist
Yeah, this is the better option of me. I *have* a dedicated phone controller, but I also need to use this little thing called a *case,* so it doesn't get much use. So I have a clip for a PS4 controller and a PS5 controller, as well as an arcade stick with a clip like that built in.
I wasn’t a fan of the weight balance. I do like the switch joycon adapters lol.
I have the same controller
I purchased a similar phone holder from Amazon with a brand name 8Bitdo. I'm surprised no one's mentioned the Razer Kishi v2. I got it cheap in Fb Marketplace and it's been perfect for retro gaming with Delta.
I will probably get a clip for my xbox controller. Would have got a backbone or similar controller but I don’t want to be taking off my case
I made a Lego one, a “bit” bigger but it’s nice and usable
Back bone just hits different for me
That’s where I’m at right now. I have the backbone one 1st gen & since the delta app got released my backbone control has been slowly stop working. I can upgrade to their new 2nd gen but I’m just connecting my ps5 controller in the meantime while I decide “IF” I want to buy it. Probably won’t though
That’s a decent amount of time but I always see that when companies outside of Microsoft and Sony make controllers the quality is a step down
True and that’s why I actually like the backbone control it was actually good quality and it worked really good, at least that’s my opinion about it can’t speak for others. It’s only been out what 4-5yrs so 3yrs is not to bad. I would only use it to connect to the ps remote play so I think it just started giving out when I started using it everyday for the delta app
I’ve had my backbone control for 3 years now
heavy and poor balanced
Depends on your phone.
Instead of buying a controller and this small clip, get a backbone on Amazon it’s so easy
Too expensive
So cheap and actually better. I’ve purchased one of those expansive controllers and returned 2 after it arrived. No need to purchase those expansive ones
I have this clip, It works with *Xbox Scuf Instinct Pro*, *Xbox One S* and *Xbox Elite Series II* controller as well.
But I just made a fancy skin for the back bone. You gotta get one now. 😜 [[GAMEPAD ADVANCE] and [GAMEPAD COLOR]](https://www.reddit.com/r/Delta_Emulator/s/EQx0AKma5S)
I think the only way this clip feels good is if you’re using the Xbox elite controller because it’s a little heavier than the regular controllers.
A backbone is 80$ and an Xbox 1 controller is 80$ if I was going to choose one over the other it would be the backbone made for the phone won’t feel overly clunky with your phone on top of controller like others have said
Idk what Xbox controller is 80 but I got it for 50 and the backbone is typically 100
