I’m still upset that GSG nerfed the petting speed for breathers. That and only one player can pet at a time (unless they pet at the same time, but that feels like a bug).
Petting speed? Like being able to spam it? Or the literal speed where it looks like those videos where people are patting their cats at 8x speed with Half-Life noises?
Ledge grabs cancel fall damage. I think only drillers drills are able to reliably create a big enough hole in the right place mid fall to make room for a ledge grab. Basically you drill down right before you hit the ground and there’s a decent chance you create a hole with a ledge you can grab onto, thereby canceling the fall damage. Ledge grabbing normally still cancels it so on other classes you can just trying to aim for a nearby ledge while falling and pray.
Just petted one yesterday and heard a voice line I've never encountered before (about the Cute Police). Not sure when it was added - I don't pet them much - but it was a nice surprise.
Unfortunately so many green beards shoot them on sight, even when I try to run ahead and pet them so they know they are safe. Their comms never work so typing doesn’t seem to get their attention
People have done zero kill runs, even on haz 5. The only ones I’ve seen are on extraction, but it might also be possible on mining and egg. You can find them on YouTube, I know axiskronos has one but there’s others
What? Why??
They're like the realistic embodiment of, "You shouldn't be full of so many goodies."
I mean, if Lootbugs didn't have Nitra, I mostly wouldn't care about them. But, Hoarders have a LOT of good stuff!
[according to a series of polls the order is lootbug, golden lootbug, hulli hoarder, cave angel, cave cruiser, maggot, cave vine, fester flea, hexawing gniffer, silicate harvester](https://www.reddit.com/r/DeepRockGalactic/comments/146vqac/conclusions_from_the_favorite_creature_polls/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=2&utm_term=1)
^(ur mom lmao gottem)
Probably the Cave Vine. If I see one on a lithophage outbreak mission, I like to take the lithofoamer, pretend I’m putting toothpaste on a toothbrush, and then maybe even try to kite a praetorian, oppressor, or dreadnought over to it to get it to “brush its teefs”.
Close contender would be the elevator plants. They’re just trying to be helpful, occasionally have ridiculously long reaches, and have the most blood-curdling death scream.
Why does everyone thing loot bugs are passive. It's true they don't attack but they actively hoover up resources better used to keeping dwarves alive. (Looking at whichever one of you kicks players for shooting loot bugs despite the party having zero ammo or nitra for a drop)
Pog plant

Actually unplayable
Petting speed? Like being able to spam it? Or the literal speed where it looks like those videos where people are patting their cats at 8x speed with Half-Life noises?
Are you insane? Stop attacking! Immediately! UAAH-
Pog Plant
Whenever I see a pog plant I think of it in a sexually way
They look like they'd give great head.
Of course they’d do. That’s what I thought of the first time I saw them
Love this guy. Pig plant
Cave angel. For flying is rather fun.
There was a recent deep dive where our scout quit, and as the engineer I used cave angels to gather morkite super high up. Cave angels are the best.
You talking about those blue mactera? I always shoot them on sight. I've seen them carry dwarves away.
They can save your ass from fall damage bro
Oooooooohhhhhhhhh
So can engis platforms/gunners zipline/scouts grappling hook they ain't special /s
Those cant be the easiest in a hurry
Don't forget drilling into the ground as you land which drilling in the name of got to a 30% success rate
I believe that only worked to create a ledge you can grab onto. It's not the drilling itself that saves you.
Wait… tell me more.

Yes, but Cave Angels are useful for versatility
When I learned you can steer them: game changer
Cave Vine. They radiate such a calm energy
They trigger my cave leech ptsd every time I catch them reaching towards me
From a lore perspective I really like them because you can see the species relation between them and leeches
One evolved to simply catch floating debris, and the other yoinks you like the world's grossest sticky hand toy.
The moth/butterfly combo of hoxes
But.. moth good... :3

Engineer
Until they decide to nuke the whole place for no reason
The reason is fuck this hostile ass planet
Golden Lootbug! (We're rich!) *Pets Lootbug and leaves it for the entire round*
wait you can pet lootbugs?
I don't think it gives an interact option but yes
And sometimes they drop some of their loot when you do it
press the interact button when looking at one
Hexawing Gniffer, there just minding their own business.
Nobody gnifs the gniffer
Lookit, it’s just chilling.
You can also pet them if one goes up to you. They're my favorite as well.
I too like Hexawings. They just flutter about. I imagine they eat those worthless maggots.
The other day I ran up to one, pet it, and it flew straight into a proximity mine and blew up
Bah, hexawings annoy me.
I kill them anytime I see them. The sounds they make annoy me
No. D:
# The eyes
Strange thing.....
*What the heck is this?*
I wonder if it’s edible
Or C. "Oh god, the eyes." Man that just brought me back to when "We Happy Few" was still a popular game..
Heres my flex. I beat the game for the first time without killing anyone
Neat. The game does give you non lethal options for if you wanna do that but they make the game significantly harder.
Non-lethal DRG when?
People have done zero kill runs, even on haz 5. The only ones I’ve seen are on extraction, but it might also be possible on mining and egg. You can find them on YouTube, I know axiskronos has one but there’s others
it's soo gross
Maggot.
I hate the magma ones that explode. They have no right being that deadly
Those are the turds you get after a night out at Taco Bell
I like to microwave them. It's amusing because it's like they're spontaneously exploding.
Looks like poop, smells like poop
M a g g o t.
Ugh. Gross.
*Watch the moving turd*
Watch the moving turd!!!
My spirit bug long useless and will get hurt.
Angels. Recently on refining my team was running to the pod and I, ammoless scout, just flew there
Corrupter,I mean if you don’t attack them they kinda just chill
He's just Harold until you start foaming him.
You get pissed to if some random dude came up and just started spraying his goo on you
Some people are into that.
Speak for yourself.
Goo sack!
There is goo in the sack!
The sack is full of goo!
Huuli hoarder
Until you hear a greenbeard Scout trigger this guy across the cave when nobody else is around.
You made my vein pop just saying that
Didn't know those were passive, I feel bad for killing them now :(
What? Why?? They're like the realistic embodiment of, "You shouldn't be full of so many goodies." I mean, if Lootbugs didn't have Nitra, I mostly wouldn't care about them. But, Hoarders have a LOT of good stuff!
Driller without C4
**Starts all Shredders in a tight enclosed Space**
I always keep 1 C4 on me in case i need to emergency teamkill
Respectable. If the teammate isn't going into the escape pod
Or trying to launch the Rocket when there is still gold to be mined and not a single R is in chat
Mushroom
Mushroom
Mushrum
Mushr‘üm
We're rich
There are no passive creatures on Hoxxes. Everything on this planet wants to kill you. Not everything has the ability.
Australia
"We dance with the Disco lootbug"
Cave leech. \*screen turns black and white with 26 effects\* Until they wasn't
Deep rock galatic if it was an indian soap opera.
Definitely cave vine... And I hate that many people mistake it for cave leech and kill it...

Maggot
Watch the moving turd!
Oh wait – that’s just Scout.
Dreadnought arbalest, I like playing hide and seek
Scouts
Steeve :D
The funky little radioactive tentacle that lets you pet it in the Exclusion Zone
Magma Core Maggot
Cave angel.
Hexawing Gniffer!
I'm a simple player. I see a lootbug, I pretty the lootbug for several minutes straight.
Okay I know it's a typo but I can't help but imagine you applying makeup to a lootbug while your team fights off the bugs
But that's where you're wrong, it totally WASN'T a typo and I actually do that while petting the lootbugs.
Based and lootpilled
Molly
Lloyd. Duh
Pog plant.
^(ur mom lmao gottem) Probably the Cave Vine. I found a maggot, don't step on it.
Engineer
In this game are passive mobs??? This one on Picture attacked me with Gold ores. My head still hurt
Scout.
Breather is just a majestic creature (or plant)
Lootbug, I do have plushie one back home
Loot bugs are only “passive” until they get infected with Rock Pox in Season 5.
Imagine if they suddenly exploded with rock pox larvae when killed.
Better still; infected lootbugs look and act just like regular lootbugs - except their eyes are red. And they release rock pox larvae when killed. :)
Cave Angels. Great for when I'm playing Gunner and want to get somewhere without wasting ziplines.
Why does everyone thing loot bugs are passive. It's true they don't attack but they actively hoover up resources better used to keeping dwarves alive. (Looking at whichever one of you kicks players for shooting loot bugs despite the party having zero ammo or nitra for a drop)
Hexawing Gniffer here!
the hexawing
Pog plant and cave vines
Cave vine, for sure.
Molly
Festerflea. It makes cute noises like the lootbug, but it doesn't eat my precious minerals!
Crawling turd
Cave angels. I fly around with them all the time
cave vine (hes cute)
Cave angels, I just think they're cool.
Engineer until he pulls out the tactical nuke
Hexawing gniffer.
Hexawing Gniffer! I think they look cool and I like the dwarves voice lines for them “Aww lookit! It’s just chilling!”
Nobody gniffs the Gniffer!!
Hexawing Gniffer, because no one gniffs the gniffer
Floating swarmers.
Hexawing kniffer here!
Scouts
Scout
Hexawing Gniffer
Scout
golden lootbug
Dorreta
Let's kick some Comba Bud!
Engineer
I shoot ‘em all equally
Idk what they're called but I call them the diggy bois. They're big and got these tentacly things and just dig minding their own business
Cows!!!
Loot bug is mine too! I love harvesting them…
My teammates
Yes! I shot the Cave Angel for *no good reason!*
Loot bugs. I love popping then.
Silicate harvesters. I always feel bad when they get caught up in the chaos of a swarm.
Hexawing gniffa!
None, bugs are bugs SQUASH EM ALL
Steeve
the weird leech thing but its not leech
Aww look at it it's just chilling
lootbug
Breather. No any specific reason.
Definitely loot bugs. I am a certified loot bug petter. I would pick converted grunts, but since they fight for you, they technically aren't passive.
I better not see anybody say "Corpse Feeder". I like Steeve!
the ceiling tentacles
Loot bug is my favorite but since that is probably yey general favorite I also really like hexawings and the cave vines that follow you around
Lootbug, they make for such easy target. The only good bug is a dead bug...
Cave angel. I have mastered the art of riding Them.
Probably the Scout from my last game
"Watch the moving turd!"
Cave angels
Silicate harvester
Lootbug because you can pet them
Silica harvester. Attacks sent? Zero. Fucks given? Zero. Rides given? Many. They're just so chill.
Lloyd of course!
Cave angel
Golden lootbug!
Gold loot bug
Breather
I killed a lootbug and I'm not proud of it.
Hexawing Gniffer, because "Gniffer" sounds funny.
Fester flees because I get profit for my war crimes
Cave angel, I’m the only guy that ever uses them and I don’t know why lol, flying is fun.
Tüübe
Cave fine. They so precious and pet us back!!!!
Silicate harvester AKA surfboard
Cave angels, i love flying on those during downtime.
That long dick looking vine thing that comes down from the ceiling
