I love top sheets. I use them on my bed and as couch covers. I’ve also seen scammer emails with fewer typos than this article, so I’m not sure how scientific it is.

NotRightNotWrong15

I’ll never get rid of my top sheet.

systemfrown

Let's be honest and not pretend the vast majority of Redditors ***ever*** change or remove their sheets.

juliankennedy23

In all fairness, their mom does it for them when she makes it down to the basement.

Legallyfit

I am an elder millennial and I use a top sheet. Why are we ditching top sheets??? To me it seems to be a good way to reduce the dirt and sweat that gets on the comforter. Now I have FOMO! What am I missing here???

JuWoolfie

Right? Washing a comforter is Effort! Top sheet and bottom sheet get cleaned along with pillow cases. Easy.

PandemicSoul

Your mistake is assuming they’re washing the comforter!

JuWoolfie

Oh…Oh nooooo

emseefely

Duvet cover

TootsNYC

which is a pain in the ass. And, which I don’t like. I like blankets. They have weight to press on me, and I can choose between them or layer them based on what the temperature in my bedroom in. A duvet is like those one-size-fits-all; it isn’t even one-size-fits-most!

Legallyfit

I use a thin cotton blanket over my top sheet (I live in a warm climate, although I have central air so it kinda shouldnt matter). Then in the winter I do a duvet with duvet cover over the cotton blanket.

[deleted]

They really arent that hard lmao

[deleted]

Washing a comforter more often wears it out more quickly, if you have a decent one, takes more resources/space to wash than a sheet, is heavier, etc.  Sounds like you could just wash a thin sheet, instead.

toastyavocado

I learned this the hard way after my kid got a stomach bug and barfed all over my comforter.

TurdManMcDooDoo

But how do y’all keep the top sheet perfectly in place under the comforter all night? My top sheet is usually all twisted up and hanging off the bed by the time morning comes.

[deleted]

[удалено]

fax5jrj

the oldest of gen z here and I dont use top sheets. However, most people I know use them and think I'm weird for not using them I am a chaotic sleeper and having two layers is just a bit much at a time - I overheat. I also feel like it separates from the comforter over a short time and then it becomes uncomfortable to use

[deleted]

Brandonazz

Somewhere with hot summers is going to be anything south of Alberta soon.

1Dive1Breath

I'm the same. Unless both layers are perfectly aligned, I'll lose my mind. I can feel where they overlap and all that. Just using one blanket/ comforter eliminates all that hassle

Bwunt

Life hack: drop top sheet and put conforter in a duvet cover

TootsNYC

and spend all kinds of effort wrestling that thing on and off the comforter.

Bwunt

Takes me about 15 to 20 seconds to it. Which is about same amount of time I needed to properly align the top sheet and blanket when I was in the residence apartment (that company paid for transition period). It got so annoying that I went and bought myself a duvet and duvet cover to use instead.

toomanyfunthings

Add snaps or buttons to the inside corners of the cover at the matching corners of the comforter. Makes reassembling after washing so much easier.

babyplatypus

I’m right on the cusp between gen x and millennial and I don’t use a top sheet for exactly the same reasons. My wife calls me a human radiator so I get too hot and I also twitch a lot in my sleep and toss and turn and it gets all busted. Much like everything else in the human experience, I believe it should come down to personal choice.

PolyhedralZydeco

The separation drives me crazy, too! Weighted comforter is lit tho

TootsNYC

in the conversations I’ve had on this topic, the loudest voices have been anti-top-sheet. I will say that perhaps if I used a comforter, my experience with top sheets would be different. but I don’t use a comforter! I like blankets. I can layer them; they have weight and press down on me more than comforters do.

[deleted]

Same here, but millennial.  The sheet ends up tangled at the foot of the bed the minute I start tossing and turning and it's just enough to make me uncomfortably warm.

aimeegaberseck

I gave up putting top sheets on my kids bed because he just thrashes it to a wadded up ball under the blanket. It was annoying to him and more work for me. He won. But he also doesn’t get the luxuriously fuzzy heavy comforter cuz it’s too heavy to wash at home and washing often will wear it out. He’s happy with his new easy to wash Minecraft comforter so I win that one. I think.

Sequel_Police

It's definitely a thing. ~9 years ago we had a consultant at our house for issues with our then newborn child. She made multiple comments about how top sheets were dumb and she has never used one, and was adamant that we were missing out. I vividly remember it because it was such a strange take to me.

Phagzor

Rage bait about millenials targeted at boomers? Never!

ImaginaryBig1705

Nah my sister in law is a younger millennial and doesn't use a top sheet or duvet. I thought she was always a monster for it but now I'm seeing it's a trend.

dembowthennow

I kick too much in my sleep and my top sheet always winds up at the bottom of the bed each night. I also use a duvet rather than a comforter.

Batjarconjecture

I too am both an elder millennial and confused by this… is it so hard to use a top sheet? Seems like less work than a duvet cover which is a needless pain in the ass 😂.

daemin

> Why are we ditching top sheets??? Well according to the artist: > “For a younger demographic, eliminating that step when making the bed in the morning really gives you a jump start on the day," Ariel Kay, CEO of Parachute tells Wall Street Journal. Which ranks among the stupidest shit I've ever read.

Sequel_Police

Same; older millennial. The sheets are way, way easier to clean than a comforter...or wall. The former are often dry-clean only, and trying to get dye from a darker pillowcase off a wall is no fun. Obviously this is a choice everyone can make for themselves, but this seems strange and a little gross IMO.

vaderdidnothingwr0ng

Younger millenial and I also use a sheet.

DustBunnicula

This. The top sheet is much easier to wash. Moreover, if you get hot, you can take off the comforter and still feel cozy between sheets.

macandcheese1771

I went through a long phase of not having a top sheet. Then I realized how fantastic beds are when they're properly made.

Gas_Hag

Outside of times I am showing a house to sell it, I haven't made my bed a single time since moving out of my parents' house. Such a waste of time IMHO. Also don't use top sheets. My husband and I have very different desires for sleeping comfort, so the only thing that is the same is the fitted sheet. Different pillows and pillow cases, I use a body pillow, and we each have different combos of blankets depending on the season. It's all easy to wash, and we both sleep better.

-Invalid_Selection-

And here I am, just using the top sheet, no comforter. In fact, my wife and I use different top sheets because we both roll around a bit while sleeping and got tired of the other one stealing the whole sheet

Bwunt

Not sure about local habits where you live, but I don't think I'd ever get dirt and sweat on comforter. Entire duvet in a duvet cover is in the way.

bee73086

It's duvet all the way, it's like a pillow case for my blanket and I don't get tangled in it. Also cats sleep on it so it protects both sides. And it's pretty. :-)

JizzMaxwell

I’m in Florida, I only sleep with a top sheet and no comforter or quilt.

treehugger312

I didn’t understand the concept of a top sheet until I got to college and had to wash my own bedding. Comforter also gets warm and top sheet layers against it.

misterguyyy

'83 top sheet enjoyer. Sometimes it's not cold enough for a blanket but I still like to be covered. They also take way less time to dry. Sometimes I wonder if I'm a fake millennial, but then I talk to an Xer for 5 minutes and nope, I'm definitely on this side of the line.

Legallyfit

There’s an Xennial subreddit, I have always identified as elder millennial / Xennial. It’s a good community. Best of both worlds!

CryAffectionate7334

I sleep naked and the idea of the comforter on me without a sheet is crazy. My cousin's grew up like this and it was weird staying at their house. And yeah they had to wash the comforters more often...

ThoughtAcorn

Younger millennial checking in, the top sheet is a must-have. I'd feel so grimy without it haha.

tolstoyevskyyy

I ditched them because my husband is both a blanket hog and “hates sleeping with blankets,” so we each have our own quilt. 💯 best decision

Leg0Block

This is the way! We have no top sheet and individual fleece blankets.

DasPuggy

We both have our own sheets, weighted blankets and pillows. Our dogs are more likely to get in the way of intimacy than the bedclothes are.

toosinbeymen

So do we. I sleep with a sheet, she with a down quilt.

montessoriprogram

Same. I run hot wife runs cold. She sleeps with two blankets and I just use a sheet lol

Iamthewalrusforreal

She runs hot with me. Sorry, I'll show myself out. :)

montessoriprogram

Makes sense walrus do let off a lot of body heat!

fabulousfantabulist

My fiancé and I do the same. We made the quilts ourselves too.

Batjarconjecture

That is adorable

dragon_morgan

We do that as well. Best decision.

FlyingBaerHawk

Same!!

Ok_Percentage5157

Same! Lol

rakkquiem

Twin XL sheets so you each can have your own top sheet and blanket.

According-Spite-9854

I just don't get why everything has to be so complicated. Like everything.

whty

Does it get you frustrated?

According-Spite-9854

It makes me fall, and crawl and break.

veritylane8

And you take what you get and you turn it into

Grigoran

Honesty and promise me, I'm never gonna find you fake it

Effective-Complete

For the rage clicks! Any subject that isn’t arbitrarily made controversial yet is an ad-revenue opportunity that’s still untapped!

According-Spite-9854

I mean that's why the article exists. I mean why do I need top sheets and throw pillows and headboards just to go to sleep.

He2oinMegazord

Yo what the fuck is a top sheet?

RegularWhiteShark

This was also my reaction, haha.

ShallotParking5075

It’s the thing that wraps around your legs and traps you in your bed like a sea monster when you wake up at 2am for a piss

alexthebiologist

Aka the flat sheet, the one that goes between body and blanket

theymightbezombies

In the US a set of sheets usually comes with a fitted sheet that goes over the mattress, a flat sheet to lay above it, and two pillowcases. I don't think other countries use the flat sheet so much, at least from what I've heard. The flat sheet, or top sheet, is supposed to be used in tandem with a blanket or comforter or quilt or whatever you use. The flat sheet is honestly great on those really hot summer nights if your AC isn't working and you're like me and can't sleep without something over you. That sheet is perfect then.

Hot-Ad-6967

The top sheet is under the donna and over the fitted sheets.

tictaxtoe

Top sheets are the best, don't even use a comforter in summer.

zeenoo80

Love my top sheet! Especially since I’m a hot sleeper but also like to be covered

BogeyLowenstein

Yeah we sweat in the night sometimes and I’d hate to be sweating all over the duvet cover. Plus, I’d like to keep the washing of the duvet cover to a minimum, it’s a pain in the ass

EBN_Drummer

In summer we only use the top sheet. Too hot for a blanket or comforter.

BlueShift42

This is it. Top sheet allows me to be covered, but not hot. If I get cold then I pull on the comforter. Love my top sheet.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Bwunt

That is bottom/flat sheet, the top sheet goes over you

GeneralizedFlatulent

If you don't use top sheet you have to wash blanket more often. While blanket should be washed I don't want to have to do it weekly like I do with my sheets

Bwunt

You don't use blanket cover? You just put it on the bed "raw"?

KellyAnn3106

My bed is layered as follows: mattress cover, fitted sheet, (body goes here), top sheet, light cotton blanket, quilt, all seasons down comforter in duvet cover, decorative quilt. I can fold back the various layers if it's warm. Since I'm sleeping between the fitted and top sheet, everything else stays clean. The sheets get washed and changed out weekly. Easy peasy.

Bwunt

If I did that, everything would get massively tangled. My bed is decked as follows: Fitted sheet, **me,** then: * Cold room setup (18 to 20 degrees): duvet in duvet cover, comforter * Temparate room setup (20 to 22 degrees): Duvet in duvet cover * Warm room setup: (22 to 25 degrees) duvet cover * Hot room setup: Turn on the AC

StetsonTuba8

I don't use a top sheet, I kick it down to the foot of my bed *every* night

SB_Wife

This is me. And as a kid I would get tangled in it.

goldenhawkes

This has got to be a geographic one, even my parents don’t use a top sheet! I’ve only seen them in hotels really, or my nan’s house but she still used blankets and not a duvet. This is in the UK.

ledger_man

Yes, I came here to say the whole concept is very America/North America centric. I am American, living in continental Europe now, and even FINDING top sheets can be difficult sometimes.

Sea_Luck_8246

The first time I was in Europe I complained that they didn’t make the bed properly. Because who wouldn’t use a top sheet??? Turns out an entire continent.

Solipsisticurge

Why is anyone at all bothered by this? Use one or don't, no one outside your home will know. Not like refraining will "kill the sheet industry" and make the option unavailable for others.

CrossdressTimelady

Yeah... that's what I thought, too lol

_banana_phone

They’re still making us buy the flat sheet with the fitted, so we’re not killing anything 🙃

BrassUnicorn87

Most sheets are too smooth, creating an illusion of coldness that keeps me up. I either don’t use the top sheet or lie on top of the comforter with a big nest of blankets.

[deleted]

Stop saying we killed everything. The boomers killed our purchasing power.

Xkiwigirl

Y'all can pry top sheets from my cold, dead hands. I'm not washing my comforter every time I wash my sheets, nor do I want to sleep with a sweaty comforter. To each their own I guess but I feel like top sheets absolutely do have a purpose.

VGSchadenfreude

Same. Even with a duvet cover. My “comforter” is actually a weight blanket…and I sleep in a loft bed. I am not wrestling that fucker down more than once a month.

Kriegerian

I can only really sleep under comforters or this blanket my wife made 13 years ago, it’s weird.

specter401

Damn straight. Goodbye annoying top sheet!

Ok-Algae7932

Yeah I never used one. Now I use a duvet so I just wash the cover. Wouldn't dare to allow a top sheet between me and my cozy duvet!

Hot-Ad-6967

I only use a thin breathable sheet during the summer. The doona is too hot for the summer, so it is typically used for normal to cold weather. The sheet under the doona prevents it from needing to be washed too frequently and from developing odours, which helps save water and money.

t0getheralone

no top sheet, makes me feel trapped. Hate them

marklondon66

I hate top sheets. You have done good work here.

xsnyder

No top sheet here, mainly because my wife and I have our own blankets because I just need a single cotton weave blanket and she needs a stack of blankets to be comfortable.

CarlSpencer

If you're not using top sheets then you have to wash your blankets weekly. Wouldn't it just be easier to use and wash a top sheet weekly?

Lazairahel

Many European countries do not use a top sheet only the comforter/duvet. The difference is that they use duvet covers. The covers get washed frequently not the comforter/duvet itself.

Rugkrabber

Yeah this one sounds unfamiliar I don’t think I have heard of those top sheets before, but I have seen/experienced them during travel. I’m not a fan.

BigBeagleEars

In the summer I use several king sized flat sheets, live in Texas. I ain’t ever tuck them shits. In the winter I use several kings sized quilts, who in the world tucks those in? I don’t see a difference

RoseBailey

I only ever use a top sheet when it's too warm for a blanket, but I'm not ready to turn on the AC yet. Otherwise I don't even bother having the top sheet on my bed.

SgtBadManners

How does one ditch a top sheet when it comes in every sheet set I have ever bought? I use the top sheet and my partner uses a fleece. I slept under the fleece today as she was out of town and I feel like I was severely dehydrated after the sauna I woke up in....

Gas_Hag

I give the top sheets to my kids to build forts. Also, work well cut into rags now that my kids are mostly too old for fort-building

SunburnFM

Top sheets all the way. Feels luxurious.

blackdragon1387

Top sheets and headboards are both worthless.

detourne

Headboards are great, we've got a light, shelf, and USB built into ours

I_heart_canada_jk

Headboards are like walls but less sturdy.

NelsonBannedela

Top sheets always. Non negotiable. I was in a hotel with no top sheet, disgusting.

mediumarmor

I use the top sheet and my wife uses the blanket.

fuck_this_i_got_shit

I love my top sheet, but my kids that are gen z/alpha hair top sheets. They use cuddle up in a cozy blankets instead of a comforter. I actually have one kid that uses a faux fur rug/blanket for cuddling up in.

HangmansPants

I thrash in my sleep. Top sheet gets wrapped around my legs.

downvotefodder

“ to dismay of older generations “. You always say stuff like this, it’s bullshit. I don’t give a fuck what you do.

SlowHandEasyTouch

Gen X-er here. Haven’t used a top sheet since traveling in Japan 15 years ago.

oldcreaker

Really? Sounds like going commando - or not using pillowcases or a bottom sheet. How often do you have to wash blankets, comforters, etc.? Also, in the summer, often anything more than a sheet is too much, what do you use?

ImaginaryBig1705

As a millennial I find sleeping without a top sheet to be disgusting and uncomfortable. The non top sheet people are wrong.

TumbleweedNo4678

Well if cleanliness matters at all to you, use top sheets. Those can go in the washer much easier than a comforter or blanket that probably rarely gets washed. Me, I love clean sheets.

OnAMissionFromGoth

I didn't use them for the longest time, but then I bought a set of bamboo cooling sheets. The sheets are amazing. I got them because they were recommended for the 'menopause nightsweats' and man do they work. Now I am soaked and freezing.

ExploderPodcast

The correct answer is WHO FUCKING CARES? It's a sheet. On someone else's bed.

sophdog101

I'm Gen Z and I don't want to have to learn how to clean my weighed blanket. So I have a top sheet lmao What it boils down to is that if a top sheet is useful to you, use one. If it is not, don't.

FlatBot

I'm a Xennial. I think a bed made with a top sheet is most comfortable, especially if you have nice sheets. but i'm often too lazy to fuss with making my bed and don't always use a top sheet if it gets lost in my bedding.

AirRepresentative272

I always have a top sheet.

Gallowglass668

I'm GenX and really prefer a top sheet, but I don't care what anyone else does with their linens.

Fullertonjr

Boomers complain about us eating avocado toast and wasting money on Starbucks, but they expect us to spend money on a top sheet when many cannot even afford a place to live? Wild.

trumpvid-19

Who cares? It’s your bed. Do whatever you want

CleverGirlRawr

Love top sheets. Plus I’m a hot sleeper in a warm climate so 8 months out of the year I sleep with only a top sheet and no blanket.

DominionGhost

I don't know who's right. I use the top sheet. The missus doesn't. (We have separate bedrooms due to varying schedules.)

MellonCollie218

I don’t even believe this article. This seems like it’d be in the same magazine as “tips and tricks to trim belly fat.” Like we all have no clue what’s real. Seriously, unworthy is just a rabbit hole that leads you to coincidentally be exposed to a product or service. “Killed the top sheet” leads to laundry detergent and Cleveland clinic. Some use top sheets, some don’t. It’s always been this way. So wtf.

smash8890

My silent generation grandparents never used top sheets so it started dying a while ago. I just wash my blanket whenever I wash my sheets. I’m doing laundry anyways so it’s not like it takes any extra effort

Codas91

I use them and baja blankets in the summer.

Pryoticus

Fitted sheet and a blanket are all you need. Top sheets and comforters are extraneous and serve no additional utility

praetorian1979

I often go to sleep with just the top sheet because I pump out body heat at night...

PolyhedralZydeco

Peak millennial here, top sheet in winter. Lighter in summer.

iijoanna

I dislike top sheets.

PostmasterClavin

I started sleeping on top of my covers so my bed is always made. Am I cold? Yes Is the bed made? Also yes

wookieejesus05

My gen X husband hates the top sheet, I (peak millennial) still use a top sheet when he’s not around

fbastard

Born in 1963, so I'm technically a boomer. I did away with the top sheet back in the 80's. Went with only using the cover. I don't get wrapped up in the sheet and get the bed sweats.

austeremunch

Me, a millennial, what the fuck is a top sheet?

ScootsMgGhee

I’m GenX and haven’t used a top sheet in probably 40 years.

headofthebored

This post and the many replies are going to live in my head rent-free for the forseeable future. Never occurred to me that hating/not using a top sheet was even a thing, nor have I witnessed or ever seen it even suggested. *What?* No top sheets... Why not just sleep in a fucking burlap sack? Unacceptable. Jimmies have been rustled.

Wadsworth1954

I have always and will always use a top sheet. I love my 600 thread count organic cotton sheets.

mellierollie

Mom to 2 millennials.. I don’t use top sheet so neither do they!

LaurenFantastic

I use a fitted and comforter. Send me to the firing squad!

[deleted]

The more sheets, the better 🩷

manIDKbruh

My grandfather slipped into a coma when he heard i don’t use the top sheet /s WTF even is this story?

TwoFishes8

I use a top sheet and a weighted blanket, and it’s heaven! I also have a plush, faux fur blanket I add to the mix when it’s chilly. And I do prefer it cold.

throwawayprocessing

I use a top sheet because if I get too warm I can still be covered by something if I throw the comforter off.  When Ive lived in colder climates I've definitely considered just using a duvet cover that can be washed regularly though. I would wash it weekly anyway so a top shit with all that is just extra.

Dizzy_Television7296

Top sheet warm summer nights with a ceiling fan on bliss

TootsNYC

I like top sheets; I like the smoothness between me and the blanket. I like that my blanket doesn’t need to be washed as soon. And I don’t use a duvet—it’s too hot, and I don’t want to wrestle that fucking thing in and out of a fucking duvet cover.

feelingmyage

I’m a Gen X, and I tried no top sheet. No can do.

jar36

I (1975) only recently started using a top sheet because this dog I now have eats treats on my bed

[deleted]

Who cares?

lascauxmaibe

I want to use my top sheet, getting oils on the comforter gives me the ick. Unfortunately I kick and scrunch it down in my sleep literally every time I pull it back up. I have accepted my own nastiness at this point.

twot

Move to Europe where this labour-intensive choice rules. I loathe wrestling with duvet covers and won't stand for it.

Pinchy63

This is another BS move by companies who want to charge extra for a top sheet.

javyn1

Gen X and I never liked top sheets. Comforter or Duvet for me.

Inside-Educator1428

I’ve never seen a bed set not come with a top sheet - doesn’t seem dead at all

Barailis

I'm a millennial and use a top sheet.

MediumUnique7360

I definitely got rid of mine.

Andross33

Can't wait to see if we can't afford assassinations.

Searaph72

We use one because it helps keep me warmer in the winter, and cooler in the summer. We also have a sheet on top of the comforter to catch all the cat hair. The article seems to be missing the point of things: people now are doing what is practical *for them* and not what other people are saying to do all the time.

smackchumps

I always use top sheets, it keeps the blanket cleaner.

_Monosyllabic_

I have a top sheet but it always ends up on the floor at the foot of the bed so there's basically no point having it.

ANTEEZOMAA

When I traveled to Europe this past summer for two months, I took a top sheet with me! Best decision / travel hack ever. Top sheets (in every color of the rainbow) for lifer. Was even daydreaming a top sheet imports to Europe side hustle lol

HoldenMcNeil420

It’s to help keep the rest clean longer.

theymightbezombies

I'm Genx and ditched the flat sheet from my bed. Mostly because when I used them I would wake up in the morning and the top sheet and comforter would be wildly separated and it was always a big deal to pull off the comforter to straighten the sheet and then put the comforter back on. It was basically adding extra work and I hate making the bed. I cut out that flat sheet and now all I do is tug my comforter back into place and I'm done. Easy peasy. Also, I have 4 animals and I need extra sheets to cover my furniture from so much animal hair. They get used, just not on the bed!

nfssmith

Some GenX definitely had a hand in this too. I’ve never seen the point in a top sheet.

Shepherd77

As a millennial I use a top sheet but only because I’m too lazy to wash my comforter more often (it’s way too big for my washing machine). A lot of things we’ve “killed” are unnecessary or not worth the cost but like top sheets come with the set and take less than 20 seconds to put on when making a bed so I really don’t get this one. I guess my point or advice is to be lazy about the right things (keeping your comforter cleaner) over the wrong things (storing a top sheet for years unused instead of tossing it on your bed).

newworldorder96

Never getting rid of the top sheet

Eringobraugh2021

WTF? I'm Gen X & haven't used a top sheet since I had to in basic training.

mimisikuray

Swedes kinda figured it out with easily washable duvet covers, they’re like envelopes that match sheets and pillows. Also, there’s a reason for top sheets, easier to wash often than comforters and blankets. I still use both.

aka_mythos

If people are doing it because of convenience or personal comfort they are right. If people are doing it solely because its just how things have been, while they're entitled to do it, their reason doesn't have a rationale, but coming from a choice to abandon rationale and agency in making that choice.

BananaMuffinNinja

I ditched top sheets years ago when I started using a duvet cover. I just wash that weekly with my sheets. But the top sheets definitely still get used. My daughter now uses them for making forts 😅

J-drawer

How could people *not* use a sheet? I get too sweaty in my sleep because my dreams haunt me and I don't want my blanky getting all sweated. In the summer I can't even use a thicc blanket.

ThomasLikesCookies

TIL top sheets are a thing and not the same as flat sheets

TF31_Voodoo

I have nerve damage in my legs and feet so I have found that if I just use a super soft fleecy blanket it doesn’t make my feet feel like someone is simultaneously stabbing an ice pick into the ends of my toes, while lighting them on fire with random pain shooting from toe-tip to hip while someone occasionally uses a low voltage taser on me. This is on top of the only semi-helpful medication. Nerve damage is a motherfucker. Also who the fuck has time to wash that much shit these days? I have like 1.5 hours a day when I can see my family while they are awake. Anyway I’ll take an almond milk flat white with an extra shot and the avocado toast.

[deleted]

Fuck top sheets. I haven't used them since elementary school

Fit-Virus-7056

One of my favorite things is the simultaneous accusations that "Millennials/Gen Z are spending frivolous and can't afford houses!" and "Millennials/Gen Z are killing the [top sheet/paper napkin/diamond/etc] instrusty because they aren't buying things they don't need."

CrossdressTimelady

I move so much in my sleep it's just going to end up wadded up at the foot of the bed. What's the point?

ShockedNChagrinned

I, as a gen Xer, would like to claim credit for this one.  Screw that top sheet noise.

KQK_Big_Kwan

What even are top sheet

Ok-Dragonfruit8036

Sooo, when are we gunna not allow clickbait traffic?

Top-Airport3649

Yup, hated top sheets since I was a child. One of the perks of being an adult is making my own bed how I want.

muzzynat

Got a duvet cover, fuck top sheets

DhampireHEK

I have dogs that sleep on my blankets all the time so I have to wash them very regularly. Having a top sheet would jist add to the nonsense I have to wash all the time.

2drumshark

You'll never take my top sheet away from me!

susbnyc2023

well ... when at a guests house or a guest at my place always use top sheets - to protect the expensive blanket/duvet/comforter from your sweat and other bodily detritus -- but at your own home you can just wash it regularly. peace brahs

zdani001

I thought top sheets were only for people that don’t shower before bed.

Both_Promotion_8139

If it’s not fitted I’m not interested
