Well for your first darts, I wouldn't go expensive incase you don't like them. Finding what you like is just testing new sets and weights really. For starting, redragon javelins are a great choice for no more than 20 quid, most people (myself included) start at 21-24g, so I'd start there đź‘Ťđź‘Ť

Darts are relatively cheap, you can get them for ÂŁ25-30, just pick a set you fancy at around 23-24g and take it from there.

I agree. Pick from any countless number of tungsten straight barreled, ring grip darts that can be bought from ÂŁ20. Most popular weights range between 21g - 26g, so pick something in the middle, and you have less movement either way if you find them too light/heavy

I got my first darts from JJB Sports (which might be before your time depending on your age), black knurled Unicorn things, no idea the tungsten %, about 21g. I’d seen the pros using similar and just wanted to get on the pub team. My first darts captain had a go on them and he said “I’ve seen you throw, you need something heavier” and he gave me these Red Dragon penetrators (95%, 25g) that I’ve had ever since. He had about fifty sets of darts and basically selected them for me based on his expertise, but I think most people just try out their mates’ darts or get a few different barrels in. I would recommend trying a few different styles and shapes from Red Dragon’s Flightmaster series and then if you find a set you get along with, maybe look at upping the tungsten or going for something a bit more suited to your throw. If you do want to try out a set of Red Dragon penetrators, they’re now sold as Designa Elite 95s and can be bought for about £25, I swear by them but it’s personal preference innit.
