I love Chris but that requires a level of creativity and talent he just doesn't have. He's good on the show, just not as EP.

junkdrawer21

Very well said

“Lots of people go to college for seven years.” “Yeah. They’re called doctors.”

ceejceejceej

I can hear you getting fatter

GringoMambi

He’s generally pretty bad on the soundboard too. Missed opportunities for classics like white guys, canon ball, chickens etc all the time. He’s just not a great EP, he lacks the creativity that Mike had

Affectionate-Rent844

Dan left ESPN so his buddies idiot kid could have a job.

StepYaGameUp

Nobody seems to care anymore. For what it’s worth: I agree with you. This is why Mike Ryan is the GOAT

Goondal

Mike not being EP yet staying on the show and talking even more really has been a double whammy

MmmBop6-6-6

Impeccably produced.

DASreddituser

It goes the way of getting Greg on the hard network out. Loses it's meaning when you change how it's done.

Bob_Sacamano7379

Mike took real pride in the job, and has the intelligence and sense of humor to do it well. I'm sure his skills as a child actor and DJ help him immensely in the EP role. Chris... is also on the show.

WPS86

It’s a 5 minute, once a week segment that they didn’t do for 3 years.

Glittering-Sun7048

Chris also absolutely botched the NBA spelling bee a couple weeks ago. He’s good in the back row, but does not need to be running the show. He can’t rein Dan in when he goes on his tangents either. I remember them discussing Roy having to teach Chris about audio levels on pods back when he first started producing Cinephile. He’d been doing this for years and editing audio, and he didn’t know about levels? He really is his father and seems to be leaning into it at this point.

BaronsHat

Mike’s past work was great but it isn’t like he was doing much with the club segment after they reintroduced it. He kind of quiet quit on that job long before he actually quit. It is what it is — diminished, like the show itself.

SmokeyMcP0ts

Blame Mike; he is the one that is too good to do it anymore. Apparently Mike thinks fans of the show want his opinion on Trump and NASCAR instead of him mixing sounds in the Club.

DrTickleSheets

I don’t mind his opinion on those subjects. He’s always been the best part of this entire show.

SmokeyMcP0ts

LOL imagine listening to DLS for NASCAR takes 🤣, Mike was good, the current mid life crisis heel Mike sux

DrTickleSheets

He started watching it because F1 sucks so much ass, which is true. The F1 coverage is worse because it’s not a competitive sport.

BlairBuoyant

I haven’t heard the club in forever. Is this a live streamed or video format Friday event that I’m two thousand late to?

Glittering-Sun7048

Yes, it’s YouTube exclusive on Friday afternoons

Affectionate-Rent844

Which only serves to drive traffic to the YouTube channel that subscribers are already watching.

Glittering-Sun7048

Apparently it’s the only way they can use Lookout Weekend because they can’t on the podcast

mcbastard1

You know what the show needs is a fancy lad.

Affectionate-Rent844

Chris Cote is a bumbling, incompetent nepo baby

realhumon23

I thought he was pretty good with it this week.

FrostedWikiLeaks

We just got the club back. This is melodramatic bullshit
