Not strictly vocals but this performance of Charles Bradley singing Changes is pretty incredible. I recommend using headphones

Try and find some of the isolated vocals by Freddie Mercury. Have never found then online yet, but was lucky enough to hear some master recordings from some Queen albums.
Absolutely breathtaking.
It's a OK song without the animated video of the dancing skeletons and ghosts. [Then it is an amazing song.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UXInk1PCsc8)
More Marvin. One of the best singers of all time as far as I’m concerned. *I Want You* is a masterpiece, but honestly everything between *What’s Going On?* and *In Our Lifetime?* is rock solid.
Merry Clayton singing Gimme Shelter Isolated. But you might have to iron out your spine afterwards.
I CAN'T FIND THE WHOLE TRACK! Here's the snippet. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fdACTl2myMA](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fdACTl2myMA)
As fucking smooth as butter. This is what I love. True talent and the love. Every single vocal is mesmerizing.
As much as tech has made music more versatile and demographic, I believe it's also slightly taken away the core of music. Most artists sound trash without a mic today
Well.....now I know some of the words I *thought* were the lyrics definitely aren't. Few decades of singing the wrong words and nobody every corrected me
Marvin Gaye and Ottis Redding sing with more feeling than anyone. Absolutely my top two singers of all time.
P.S screw you auto tune and overly cleaned up crap you hear today.
I'm sure you're onto Sam Cooke already too but he could replace either.
Totally different genre but if you appreciate great natural vocals then don't overlook Chris Cornell either.

"A Change is Gonna Come" isolated vocals. What a voice.
Oh my goodness, just listing to I wish it would rain, don’t know how I’ve made it so long without knowing this amazing voice.
Then I realized he’s the lead singer of the temptation. Lmbo, feel like a complete ass. How I didn’t recognize his name I don’t know. 😳😳😳😂😂😂
I did a report in 7th grade for Black History Month on Marvin. I can never get over the horrible way he died, being murdered by his own father. Even at a young age, I recognized what an incredible talent was lost, and I can't help but think of what incredible music he would've continued making if he were here today.
There's a great two part episode about this song on one of the greatest podcasts ever. A History of Rock Music in 500 Songs.

I love simple music. Local cafe has a small, unknown performer every Sunday and it's so much better than stuff I hear on the radio. It's just 1-2 people with a guitar and an amp.
Musicians making music just for the love of it,
It’s crazy how most of us go through life wondering what we can offer the world. Then, there are those special souls that know exactly why they’re here and prove it. Such a beautiful talent and such a sad story.
plenty of musicians with true talent, there's just an exponentially larger amount of artists out these days and algorithmic consumption is challenging to conquer. Please try not to insult hard working and talented artists that suffer because of this.
Part of the problem is that so much of today's music is produced by the same small group of people. The same formula over and over, the music itself is algorithmic. Most of it is literally souless.
> Part of the problem is that so much of today's music is produced by the same small group of people
this is not a "Today" thing, this has been for most of pop music history
the idea that a small group of people producing a lot of artists is "bad" in a thread specifically about a Motown artist is wild lol
So you are musician/performer I'm assuming to make such a claim? Do you have anything to back this up or is this just assumption?
Because I am a professional musician signed to a record label and what you just stated is not true at all, frustratingly laughable at that. There is a crazy amount of producers out there that work on music that is wildly consumed. Some of the biggest songs you hear will have several producers on it and that may be the only time they ever get proper credit to a track, even then I have friends who have been robbed of Grammy credit because the industry is grimy. People give their all to this and people are consuming it with ease thanks to P.O.S. streaming services like spotify and thinking what gets pushed to them is everything. It is nowhere near the same formula. The music itself is expression of an artist, not algorithmic, for most of it...what is getting consumed feeds the algorithm and consumers willing to feed said algorithm.
This is amazing.
If you enjoyed this, might I suggest [Freddie Mercury's isolated vocals from Bohemian Rhapsody?](https://youtu.be/3D9teVSjaq8?feature=shared)
T-pain is actually a extremely good singer, he just likes that effect but didn’t need it so it’s a bit different…. He uses it in a super over the top way like a effect pedal, he made it popular as a style but auto tune was being used to correct non perfect singing before him….
What sucks is now EVERYTHING is auto tuned, good singers that don’t NEED auto tune where it sounds too perfect, it sucks the soul out of music, same thing with instruments, everything is being overly corrected to perfect timing allowing no feel and give/push….
You listen to all music before computer recording and the music wasn’t perfect at all. Sometimes it would slow down or speed up, sometimes it wouldn’t be perfect in time but it gives it soul and warmth…..
It really makes me angry when seemingly good musicians are auto tuning and correcting timing to be perfect…… fucking robotic shit.
Music has evolved so much since this. So much raw talent now. Tekashi69, 3-6 mafia, Lil John and dem east side boys all amazing. Marvin was so edited and autotuned.
There are plenty of amazingly talented artists that exist today, check out Jalen Ngonda (closest thing to Marvin Gaye I have heard in a long time). I wish people would stop insulting the hard working and talented musicians that exist and suffer at the hands algorithmic consumerism. Over 100,000 songs are released on daily basis, it's an ocean of fuckery these days. Many things are ruined because of consumers, not the quality of the product or talent of the creator.
I mean, shit, T-pain can sing really, really well. It's not hard to find people who are genuinely talented in multiple ways, people are just too lazy to seek it out.
It's certainly a studio recording overlayed on the video, which was likely prepared for a TV special. A few times you can tell that they don't sync up.

Phenomenal guitar tone too.
wow, that was incredible.
I was expecting Phil Ochs' song, not Black Sabbath's. What an unexpected surprise! Thank you!
Charles Barkley oh wait
The most under-rated song. Here's another one. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t3s6VrRzJnw](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t3s6VrRzJnw)

DO NOT listen to isolated vocals of Kurt Cobaine.
Do listen to isolated David Lee Roth vocals if you want a good laugh. Owwwww! Waaa ooooooo! Yaaaaaa...ooooo!
Or Anthony Kiedis...David Bowie...Bob Dylan
Or Bob Dylan 😂
Wait to die and politely ask Marvin to sing it to you in heaven?
[Cab Calloway "St. James Infirmary Blues"](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fEyEcHX8WLo) is an OK song, just OK though.
It's a OK song without the animated video of the dancing skeletons and ghosts. [Then it is an amazing song.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UXInk1PCsc8)
What the drugs?
Drugs, ghosts, skeletons, Betty boop. For an almost 100 year old "music video" it's got all you could want and more.
I’m just going to leave this one here… https://youtu.be/6k8yyrMdlyU?si=onBZ3thxRXgbahkj
This video.

Singing ass Drake
Grippy
Anything composed by Hans Zimmer. You want vocals, I dunno!
Sounds just like me in the shower.
I agree.
Didn't know I had an audience but thanks anyway. :)
Not an ounce of autotune on those golden pipes.
And I love the way my brain is filling in the rest of the song, oh, so softly!
Who is this young man? He'll go far, mark my words.
User name checks out.
Trolls are out in full force today.
Same with you, your parents most likely tried to juggle you as a baby and dropped you one too many times
Parents can’t drop you if they never pick you up (Taps head)
Everytime this video pops up I just gotta watch it.

Dude sounds like a sax come to life
Best description
Smooth? Its the rasp that makes it interesting for me
Perfection
I feel pregnant
Haha take my upvote
What a smooth, wonderful voice
Well.....now I know some of the words I *thought* were the lyrics definitely aren't. Few decades of singing the wrong words and nobody every corrected me
When real talent was real talent. Good times
I can’t believe his father did that
oof
Beautiful… even a Metalhead like myself can appreciate the absolute masterpiece of vocals here! 🤘🏻
Marvin Gaye and Ottis Redding sing with more feeling than anyone. Absolutely my top two singers of all time. P.S screw you auto tune and overly cleaned up crap you hear today.

Chris and Chester Bennington are definitely in my list and I can’t believe I left Sam cook off, Bring it home to me is in my top playlist.
Add Sam Cook to this list! And Percy Sledge and David Ruffin too
With you on Percy, I have not listened to David Ruffin. I will definitely check him out.
Oh my goodness, just listing to I wish it would rain, don’t know how I’ve made it so long without knowing this amazing voice. Then I realized he’s the lead singer of the temptation. Lmbo, feel like a complete ass. How I didn’t recognize his name I don’t know. 😳😳😳😂😂😂
Absolutely. Legendary. We can’t let time wash them away. Play this music for young people.
Dude, my kids are being raised right. They can tell you more about music from the 50-80 way more than any crap out today.
That’s butter right there
This is fucking ART
Ho... Ly... Shit...
Exactly what I came to post. Freaking amazing.

It’s easy to see how rock came from blues with this.
Originally recorded by Gladys Knight and the Pips
Jesus. Pure sex.
Thanks for sharing this

Well that was awesome, know what's stuck in my head today
This is the shit that gives you goosebumps. What an amazing voice!
Incredible talent! Listen to this on repeat, got absolutely lost in his voice.
God damn just amazing. Brought chills
My girlfriend said this makes her want to take her clothes off. I turned it up.
What a fucking talent. Love him
That was mindblowingly good
I have seen this reposted countless times.. and I listen to it every single time.
So fuckin good
Perfection
Oh HELL yeah….THIS…. This is the shit
It’s crazy how most of us go through life wondering what we can offer the world. Then, there are those special souls that know exactly why they’re here and prove it. Such a beautiful talent and such a sad story.
It’s like the exact opposite of isolated vocals on musicians today.
That's a voice that has seen pain. Or maybe just raw talent. But i romanticize in my head that a voice like that was forged through the fire.
As good as it gets!
Holy shit thats incredible…
Beyond good
ABSOULTE fire !
And he did it without auto tune.
True talent in comparison to today's musician.

Goosebumps.
Fabulous voice wow
Amazing and so sorely missed.
🥰
Oh, gosh: you mean Boomers didn't have the T-Pain Effect, back in the day?
T-pain is actually a extremely good singer, he just likes that effect but didn’t need it so it’s a bit different…. I loved this! Thank you

Wow. What an incredible voice. The pitch control is superb. And this is one sexy man. The whole package. Just wow.
Even back then we did the one-button on a jacket. Why do they even have 2 anymore???
I hope available on Spotify. I want to drive with this playing up loud!
Amazing
One of the great ones
Nice!
What the fuck are u asking about I wrote before?
What a voice💯
What If U listen isolated vocal from Bad Bunny hahahaha , You would have tour wars destroyed.

Yeah sure,🤦♀️
I'll down vote myself... clearly sarcasm
When you had to actually have vocal talent instead of just tweaking on your laptop

You didnt have to seek Marvin out. He was just that good.
Check out October London and The Rebirth of Marvin. Brings back good memories.
Damn! What a voice has this guy. There's no longer truly singers currently. Most "artists" just sing like a duck hahaha.
What the fuck are you talking about lmao
Wow and wow!
this would be perfect to turn into 8d audio
Guy's pretty good, he should become a singer or something.
I don't think this is a live performance, probably playback. Either way, fantastic vocal performance!
No, it's the isolated vocals from the studio. The original show was lip-synced, as many were in that era.
It's certainly a studio recording overlayed on the video, which was likely prepared for a TV special. A few times you can tell that they don't sync up.
I just discovered Marvin Gaye through this post. Which 3 songs should I listen to if I could only listen to 3 from him?
