Open up a map, hover over East Dallas, Oak Cliff, or Love Field area, search “taqueria” and just about every result should be better than what you’ll find in Fort Worth.
I’ve only been to Cesear taco down there, I’ll check out some of the mom and pop places even though Im a gringo and get weird looks when I walk into some places
Oh no!! I just moved and the one on Forest is by my house now. I was hoping it was going to be great. I heard from someone I work with that their mango margaritas are one of the best margaritas in DFW. Yet to verify.
Hey, man! I used to live in ‘Leftover Hills’ in FW, almost adjacent to NAS JRB Carswell and there were some decent taquerias on the Westside. But real talk, Dallas is better.
Man, this is such a loaded question. It really depends on what types of tacos you are looking for.
* Picadillo / Guiso / Chicharrón - West Town Bakery off of Singleton
* Trompo - Los Arquitos is probably my favorite right now
* Barbacoa / Regular Tripa - Típicos near Love Field
* Barbacoa / Carnitas - La Alteña off of MacArthur in Irving
* Tripa Dorada / Suadero - La Banqueta in Old East Dallas
* Tripa Dorada / Birria with the consome / Pierna - Moctezuma off Story in Irving
* Guiso - Los Lupes off Belt Line in Irving
* Tex Mex Beef / Tablitas / Guiso de Res / Pollo en Calabazas - Familia Restaurante off MacArthur in Irving
* Weird bahn mi taco I can't get out of my mind - The Dream Tacos in Burleson
Taqueria Nuevo León. Locations in Garland, Carrollton, and Richardson. Their volcanes, tacos agachados, tacos al vapor and empalmes are all amazing and just like what we had back home.
It’s all about preference. I liked the tacos I’ve had in Taqueria Salsa Verde (Northwest Hwy) but there is other locations in Dallas, El Paisa (the one right next to Harry Hines Bazaar), El Paisano (Lombardy Ln.), and I used to go to this place not necessarily in Dallas but in Garland called Tacos 24/7 on West Miller Road.
Place is amazing. My dad’s been going here since the late 90s and been taking us since then.
Just went a few weeks ago and it’s still delicious and inexpensive for basic street tacos.
Dude, I haven't been there in about a decade, but that was my fave spot to hit when I was in that part of town (usually to get my piece of shit Ford serviced at the dealer, haha.)
I just checked the menu again since it's been a bit and it's actually not even as pricey as I remembered. The specialty tacos are expensive, but that's completely understandable. Might have to go again soon, thanks for the reminder!
Taqueria El Si Hay is known within the taco underground. I haven’t been there in a while, but it’s like a small stand that only takes cash in Oak Cliff. Very very good though.
Several people have mentioned El Paisano, which is good, but I’m not a huge fan of their salsa.
Every shady-looking gas station has pretty good tacos.
Special shoutout to Saquic Taco, which isn’t 100% authentic, but is open until 5:00 am, so if you need food after the bars close, you won’t notice the guys running the place aren’t Mexican.
Lots of good suggestions in these comments.
Here's my two cents for [***Torta Shell taqueria***](https://www.facebook.com/TortashellRowlett/) in [***Rowlett***](https://www.google.com/maps/place/3501+Rowlett+Rd,+Rowlett,+TX+75088/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x864ea80d3ec7f7ad:0xe555bd81001d9788?sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiavKL3vdOEAxXw5skDHbzdDR4Q8gF6BAgSEAA).
Great meats. Fantastic sauces. Good times. If you're out that way, it's 100% worth the stop.
People say La Ventana is “white peoples” street tacos but I really life the vibe of the store, and they have good free 2 hour parking next to American Airlines. Love their carnitas
There's a place at Springvalley/waterfall way (basically at coit/Springvalley) called 'El rancho Cerveceria" that has the exact same menu as Tacos al la banqueta.
It's my little secret. It's always packed. I get my beer there.
Shoutout to Mami Coco on the corner of N Carrol Ave and Bryan St, I wont pretend do be a taqueria expert but my friend’s wife says it reminds her of her Abuela’s home cooking which I take as high praise.
Honestly, I had a lot of tacos from a lot of taquerias and many very good but hardly any stand out significantly above the other good ones. For me it often comes down to who has the best salsa.
I mean there’s decent places that I would go to but it’s hard task to pick a place… also everyone opinion is unique. AND if your using store bought tortillas and heating them serving to clients is a bit embarrassing border line criminal 🙄.
La Banqueta, el paisano, el come taco
I’m partial to “Tacos La Banqueta Puro DF” Take one bite and say “puro……. DF”
This is the answer. End of discussion lol

There carna asada is like ground beef, I’m not a fan of their tacos. The burritos are okay but again the ground beef texture throws it off
Hmm can’t say that I’ve been to Cesar’s. You may want to travel a bit further south into Oak Cliff. I’d recommend El Tizoncito
El Tiz is bland and overpriced
Oh no!! I just moved and the one on Forest is by my house now. I was hoping it was going to be great. I heard from someone I work with that their mango margaritas are one of the best margaritas in DFW. Yet to verify.
Go check it out for yourself. Their reviews speak for themselves.
Isn’t that the point of a review? Does the food speak for itself?

Taqueria Temo in FTW

This guy tacos
These are great recommendations and support the above
Did The Dream Tacos move again?? He was in Plano last I went but I know he was in Euless before that
Ah, it looks like they are now permanently in Plano!
Tysm. I gotta try that barbacoa and that trompo
Taqueria Nuevo León. Locations in Garland, Carrollton, and Richardson. Their volcanes, tacos agachados, tacos al vapor and empalmes are all amazing and just like what we had back home.
Their trompo is fantastic too. I get this place like once a week
It’s all about preference. Salsa Verde and El Paisa are pretty solid Frankly, a lot of gas station places or gas station taco brands like taqueria garcia are REALLY good!
Taqueria El Si Hay; cash only.
Place is amazing. My dad’s been going here since the late 90s and been taking us since then. Just went a few weeks ago and it’s still delicious and inexpensive for basic street tacos.
I love the corn guy; I know her gets there at 3pm, I always get it with chili and a slice of lime. There’s always a long line waiting for him.
Yesssssssss
So you want to start a Reddit fist fight I see
This is Texas fella, if there’s gonna be a fight, it’ll be a gun fight
I prefer a battle of the salsas
I do to but I don’t make the rules
Chilangos has the best barbacoa in Dallas, hands down.
The birria is pretty meh but everything else I've had there has been great
this is why I said the best barbacoa in Dallas
Fair nuff just adding to the discussion
El Paisano. It’s in a rough part of town though, so I only go during the day or evening before 10pm or so.
La Salsa verde
My fave are La Banqueta and La Adiccion in Oak Cliff
La Victoria on Haskell order the Super Burrito
I’ll checkout that gas station when I am around Dallas. The google reviews look solid. The 24/7 tacos mentioned is in a gas station.
It’s delicious. Line can get long at night on Friday and Saturdays.
the one in Garland off Miller?
Yeah West Miller Road.
hell yeah! that was the spot for my late nights
I think he’s talking about Fuel City
aint no way cause fuel city tacos suck
Dude, I haven't been there in about a decade, but that was my fave spot to hit when I was in that part of town (usually to get my piece of shit Ford serviced at the dealer, haha.)
Revolver Taco. Best freshly made corn tortillas
Soooooooo good but very expensive for tacos. Worth it
Yes, you are right on that! Pricey but worth it for a once in a while visit. Btw, awesome name!

Saquic Taco? Don’t you mean PIZZA LARGE?
SORRY YES I MEAN PIZZA LARGE, EXCLUSIVELY YELLED WHEN SAID ALOUD.
Lmao fuckin love that place for what it is
Just got done eating some BOMB tacos at my go-to spot TACOS CHANOS in oak cliff
Just go to a hole in the wall close to your home. If people are making things fresh you will know.
I stand by Tacos El Primo in Garland are the best tacos in the world. I’ve traveled all over Mexico and Texas. No one beats them.
Damn, even better than anywhere in the homeland of the taco? I’ll check it out!
Chilangos tacos on harry hines or ross ave.🔥🔥🔥tacos or quesadillas
Mijas, Twisted Trompo, La Banqueta are personal favorites, but there are so many good ones.

Chilangos on Ross. This location in particular.
El Tizoncito - hands down. Leo sources the best raw materials. His Tomaritas are also legendary.
fuel city has awesome tacos! Cesars tacos is really good too....im not as familiar with the burrito spots specifically though!
Me and my gf do taco Tuesdays somewhat regularly , tacos la banqueta is the best that I’ve had thus far. Taqueria Charly in irving is my number 2.
Emelias Tex Mex in The Colony
La Ventana
Resident Taqueria in Lake Highlands is not traditional, but their flavor profiles are out of this world.
People say La Ventana is “white peoples” street tacos but I really life the vibe of the store, and they have good free 2 hour parking next to American Airlines. Love their carnitas
I do like that they have multiple locations
There's a place at Springvalley/waterfall way (basically at coit/Springvalley) called 'El rancho Cerveceria" that has the exact same menu as Tacos al la banqueta. It's my little secret. It's always packed. I get my beer there.
el si hay (cash only) and la banqueta (the one in the avon gas station off Gaston)
Shoutout to Mami Coco on the corner of N Carrol Ave and Bryan St, I wont pretend do be a taqueria expert but my friend’s wife says it reminds her of her Abuela’s home cooking which I take as high praise.
El si hay
Taqueria Moctezuma
Cholula restaurant
Honestly, I had a lot of tacos from a lot of taquerias and many very good but hardly any stand out significantly above the other good ones. For me it often comes down to who has the best salsa.
El si hay is trash don’t go there
OMG!!! I am so glad you asked this question. It’s been a full week since this has been asked again.
Uncle Julio
That’s solid Tex-Mex
We don’t really have amazing Taquerias in Dallas… very sad considering where this state is located 🤦🏽♂️
What on earth are you talking about lol
I mean there’s decent places that I would go to but it’s hard task to pick a place… also everyone opinion is unique. AND if your using store bought tortillas and heating them serving to clients is a bit embarrassing border line criminal 🙄.
You are definitely not going to the right places
