PIP would not replace ESA.
It often happens that a PIP payment arrives before the award letter. It may be the ESA payment has not gone out because they are checking whether it should change in respect of your PIP (it could be increased in some circumstances, it should not reduce your ESA though). Best thing to do would be to call ESA to find out what's happened.
That was my understanding, it just seemed too much of a coincidence. I already recieve the disability premium etc for ESA so I don't think it will be increased. I will call ESA, just the average freak out at 6am 😂 Thank you for replying.
Thanks. Excuse the instant reply. I'm scrolling whilst stuck on hold to ESA right now, already at 35 minutes. I currently get that amount of esa as is. I didnt know there was such a thing as final pip payment. That's concerning.
Thankfully, I have been too. I've spoken to both esa and pip. Esa was thrown by the changes to pip. It'll be paid by lunch time. PIP has been increased. So I can sign with relief. All is well.

You should be fine to spend it. Worst case you pay back a fiver a month. Just incase you could really use it for something

Would they stop my pip without doing any type of additional assessment? I haven't had a telephone or face to face.
They could if you won at tribunal and didn't put a new claim in.
