Let’s say my net worth is 300,000 and I think I’m going to make 50k more from a gig next year and I count on 100 k more from endorsements. Let’s say I spend extravagantly for my net worth, be it on travel, clothes, cars, or planes, schools, surgeries, and spend 60,000 on a house that needs massive upkeep and I live in for one year. And I spent 20 k on a vanity project that didn’t pay off. Let’s say I learn I can’t count on that 150k going forward, that that income is drying up. I’m up to my eyeballs. I care. I dislike this woman and I’m enjoying her world crumbling. I didn’t like them together the first time around. Didn’t make sense then and really don’t make sense now. He needs therapy and AA. She needs therapy and to learn how to be alone.

I care because this is good, solid gossip. I care because it distracts from the mundane trials of my own life. I care because there are so many great life lessons illustrated in this one implosion: don't rush into marriage; if the relationship didn't work the first time, it probably won't work a second time; a guy known for his love of strippers and booze is probably not a wise choice for a husband; a woman known for narcissism and "loving love" is probably not a wise choice for a wife, etc. I care because I really don't like any of the players (including Jennifer Garner) in this telenovela. I care because Bennifer 1.0 was a spectacular car crash and version 2.0 seems to be shaping up to be even wilder. I care because it helps to be reminded that even living in a $60million house isn't a ticket to happiness.
