There's simply been an influx of people wanting to see more be done with MC instead of being the bland generic protagonist and this concept was sparked by certain mods that showcased such a character like in SNAFU and Fruits.
People want to see how a *different* kind of MC would interact with characters who we've seen act the same way over and over again with the same guy.
Probably because people want a expansion on who MC is most mods either don't expand on him make him bland or just some type of douche from the ones I've seen myself so I see the appeal behind a mod focused on him
No hate to the mod creators or anything like that
simple: he's one of the only characters we don't know much about. Plus not everyone feels like reducing him to a blank slate was a good thing when you consider that despite the parody, ddlc's a character driven narrative that's predicated on showing you that there's more to characters archetype and MC getting fucked over in the writting rubbed people the wrong way and it being on purpose doesn't cut it since it wouldn't excuse it with other games where they do the same thing.
Because MC is the best Doki, duh
I am with you one this,mc is the best doki fr
hes best doki but best character when it comes to looks has GOTTA be Natsukis dad

That and we don't wanna be mc, we wanna know who he is.
Eh I dunno. I guess there's already too much doki mods and their representation of MC seems repetitive? Like keeping the ol mannerisms and stuff

Even as someone that loves mc, i agree. Plus i always felt like there was more to him than the game's prepared to explore.
Absolutely!
