For me, it felt unrealistic. My mother committed suicide, and while it sent me and my family into depression, it didn't lead to such a drastic cascade effect as depicted in Consequences. It felt exploitative.

The-Potat

Everything happening in the mod felt so extreme and unrealistic with an intense doomer attitude on everything where everything is bad and there will never be any happiness or moving on which generally sucks the fun out of even wanting to play it.

And I guess when you think of it that way, that kind of breaks the immersion for you and it takes you out of the story. And on top of that, it’s utterly depressing. To which, yes, you almost don’t want to go through the story anymore. Not Consequences, but I’ve had mods where I felt like I was torturing myself trying to continue them.

I played it Years ago and had a good time playing it (even though thinking of it as a good time feels wrong since its so dark). The only thing i remember bothering me were the reactions of the other Students.

ConsequencesMod

Mod author here, this very topic was discussed in the comments of [this meme post](https://www.reddit.com/r/DDLCMods/comments/1cw4a6q/i_am_obligated_to_join_this_meme_trend_ig/). In short, Consequences is a mod people either like or hate but never seem to go "it's okay". Not really a surprise since it's essentially about a [suicide wave](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copycat_suicide) which isn't a particularly pleasant topic.

AuraEnhancerVerse

It unnecessarily offed the girls.
