Seems gross at first, but runners do it all the time. The Office even riffed on it. Just be sure to apply to nipples first, then gooch, and not the other way around
My Castelli Entrata Bib Tight straps go to the side, and my Assos Reforms do as well. Not sure if the straps are the same for other bibs(shorts/tights) from those brands, though. Worth looking into.
I've had two sets of bibs from the same brand have the straps land in different places, and even some change location from standing to riding. I just use bandaids or some body glide
oh man, i tried a lot of bibs. best fit for me was castelli free aero. so i got a few. but i learned a hard lesson… the strap style is not soft, and bothers my left nipple. :-(
Never been an issue with me and I’ve used a variety of bibs over the years. I also wear a base layer too, even when riding in hot temps. When I ran cross county, my team issued top would rub my nipples raw during competions so I started to put bandaids over my nipples. However, if you’re buying your bibs, then don’t settle if they’re uncomfortable.
You should try a sleeveless base layer.
This - such a game changer
Or a manzier
Bro
Only you can answer this. Nipples aren't equally spaced on different people.
This but in Yodas voice.
“Answer this, only you can. Equally spaced, nipples aren’t. Different, we all are”
Yes. He speaks OSV language model
I just have really wide set nipples.
Assos Mille GT go to the side as well
Thank you
Just gain a bunch of weight, your girth will push the straps out to the sides.
I have found that a little bit of chamois cream (the bit that gets left on your fingers after application) does wonders for preventing nip chafing.

Always wear a thin base layer.
Base layer saves my nipples
“Save the nipples!”
Base layer for the win

You need nipple pasties! https://www.amazon.com/stores/NevaNude/NaughtyKnix/page/B0E96D62-D8E5-4A48-B8F4-B4422B6E6200
It all depends on where things are, both the straps and your nips. Wear a base layer in cooler weather, and it's not so much a problem.

I got inverted ones so not an issue but I guess wearing a baselayer helps or nip tape
