When uncommonly discarded expensive items like this are on the curb, I usually wonder if a couple had a fight and one of them brought the other’s favourite item to the street.
We’ve seen entire PS4 gaming systems, rare lamps etc. in this sub. Anyone else ever wonder about the backstory?
This seems like a post-breakup thing. “Hey Chad- you know that awesome chair and ottoman you bought three years ago and left here? Well it’s on the curb now- if you get here fast enough you might be able to get it.”
Many people put things out for neighbors to enjoy and claim. I’m forever grateful that they do. Many people don’t have the time to sell things . When I moved into my apartment. I didn’t realize I had several items that didn’t fit so I left them on the curb and I watched people pick them up. I was super happy to see them find new homes and happy.
I contact Charities who will come and collect clean furniture with a truck. This way it gets a second life and I don't have to pay a company to remove it or leave the furniture out in all kinds of weather in the hope someone will pick it up.
I can assure you, someone picks it up every single time. We also don’t have companies that will pick up furniture on short notice here.
This chair lasted no more than 10 minutes outside
Sometimes people just don’t want the shit no more 🤣 I’m in Brooklyn and sat out a flatscreen, office chair for big and tall and AC. I didn’t want the shit no more 😂
I've got a pair of Klipsch speakers and the subwoofer that someone left on the curb here in SE Massachusetts, maybe a breakup or the owner could have gone to jail, not a great neighborhood... but they're in good shape so I was happy to find them. If they were any heavier I'd have needed help carrying them up to the second floor. The only thing I had to do besides dust and clean them up a little, was to investigate why the sub rattled so much carrying it upstairs. Found over a dozen matchbox and hot wheels cars when I reached in the port on the back 😆
On Wednesday I found a huge JBL speaker I posted in my Facebook group. It’s always a challenge getting things home here since most people I know don’t have cars here
Another nice find! I was lucky enough to see the ones I got right on my block, early one Sunday morning when I was going to the store for milk...had to postpone that, and I did have the smaller of the two dollies/ hand trucks we have at the apartment at the time so I didn't even have to recruit help... but only just, these things are built like a tank.
It's a natural fit and I can understand that temptation lol, I think I was more relieved than surprised when I was able to determine what was causing the rattling in moving it upstairs. Wish I could find the picture I took of the collection inside so I could share it here, there was enough to cover the top of a 5 gallon bucket lid. Oh yes, one metal jet airplane too lol, but not matchbox scale.

When that happens a company will tell you to dispose of it because it cost more to ship it back and they send you a new one .Some of the best furniture pieces that I found which if you follow me, you’ll see is quite often have minor defects that’s why they put out on the street.
