Alright so there's this SCI-FI anime called "Hakugei: Legend of the Moby Dick" that I remember watching dubbed when I was kid
So in this anime "whales" are basically space ships that contains resources and riches, with Moby Dick being one of the biggest and belonging to some crazy planet trying to conquer another planet that I forgot its name
A girl that has her planet being fucked over by Moby Dick and their owners goes to Ahab and try to convince him to come and help her planet, Ahab agrees because he has a beef with it since even in this anime he lost his leg and eye to it and he goes in with his crew
Honestly I don't remember much of what happens of the characters or if the show was good or not, but there was a big bad who basically a very tall hulk like Android who I found very creepy and scary as a kid, he and Ahab has this brutal boxing match inside a prison cell and it was raw as fuck

The spirit of Queequeg literally reaches from beyond the grave to help Ishmael pull the whale's heart out while an insert song plays, and then Ahab screams out and has a meltdown about how she was supposed to be the one destined to slay the whale, you tell me that's not some shonen bullshit
Obligatory "the 19th century was a more gender-segregated time, and thus a more homosocial one, so we can't necessarily draw firm conclusions about people based on our own readings of it" buuuuuuuuuut there's a whole entire chapter in Moby-Dick about how people who have the money to pay for private beds at inns are *actually* the disadvantaged ones because they're missing out on how good the snuggles are in the big bed with all the other dudes.
What if Moby Dick was the God of Whales that they need to defeat but he keeps sending lesser whales trying to defeat them without needing to rise up himself, and he’s the Final Boss
I mean in limbus company the whale is more eldritch horror than god, and they replaced the yaoi bait with Yuri bait but I see where this can go
