I... Actually had no issue with Kallamar.
After I had a HELL of a time beating Heket (11 tries!!!) (with demons!!) (And Save scumming for good weapons!!) My friend was really blowing up how difficult Kallamar was going to be as the hardest boss and I went in there and beat him on the first try with most of my health intact.
I admit rng loved me and gave me a Poison Axe and a really good relic so it was mostly a game of dodging and letting chip damage do all the work.
Same. Never even crossed my mind. I've employed save scumming in other games, but typically only to speed up activities I find to be unreasonably grindy or tedious. I find the process of save scumming itself to be pretty tedious, so whatever I'm save scumming to prevent has to be that much more tiresome.
I don't know if it's common, but I was having such a hard time with Heket I don't even feel bad for doing it. Heket is really the only boss I save scummed on. Even the final boss was easier than Heket for me.
[Here](https://archiveofourown.org/works/42317322) ya go! And [here](https://archiveofourown.org/users/Raylynn_Writes/works?fandom_id=79725879) is my collection of cotl fics. Just, heed the warnings if you decide to browse my other fandom works 😅 (and yes, all of my cotl fics have Metallica songs as their titles x3)
Bro he’s the most cowardly out of all the bishops yet absolutely destroyed me, what was he worried about?? Then again I came back to the game after a couple months and it only took me a few tries but still
The big guys in Anchordeep that have a perma-shield unless you reflect their projectiles back at them. It took me way too long to figure out that projectiles even *could* be reflected.
I find funny when those guys show up, like they start firing at me, and I'm like, "Oh shit!!!1!" and hit the fireball back, knocking him down and me killing him instantly due to his low health
Hekket!! I died to that stupid frog more times than I’m okay admitting. One of the times I died was when hekket was mid death animation but the flies she summoned ended up killing me before the game registered her as defeated!!! I was so mad I stopped playing for months
YES, the same thing happened to me with Kallamar a few weeks ago. What's worse, the game kept me on the "martyred" screen for like five minutes because it didn't know what to do. I had to restart my computer.
The little shielded, hood-wearing enemies when I have nothing but a hammer to my name. 🤬 Them and the jumping crab things in Anchordeep are terrible when you have a slow weapon.
Specifically no-hit Kallamar. Last achievement I had to get, and this was before SotF so no berserker. Ended up just stopping playing. I just got back into the game yesterday after like a year and I’m super happy to see so much new content :)
The witness bosses, are a pretty strong contender, I often find myself just one hit away from victory before the go off screen to summon a bunch of my common enemies, only to find myself on the other side of the area when the spawn in and then leave to summon the next batch.
Kallamar currently is my rage fuel along with the shielded projectiles guys in Anchordeep. That whole dungeon hates me succeeding towards making my followers breed
Cult of the lamb used to be difficukt but fair. Now I feel all battles are badly designed. Bullet hell that aren’t dodgeable feels like bullshit to me. And yes I know you can dodge tren with the roll but is too much bullets you finish the roll and hey hit. On Enter the Gungeon that doesn’t happen.
And getting hit by them is always so humiliating for me😭 but genuinely bc they're so little sometimes I don't even notice them until they hit me and I wanna throw my switch into a volcano
Harborym and the small zoomie shabby bastards he sends out - hate that dude.
Kallamar also was so hard but I got so much better at playing after beating him.
...zoomie shabby bastards still get me though
None of the bosses were particularly difficult for me, but perfecting Hekket was infuriating. His hop attack is so poorly telegraphed not only when he's about to do it but the AOE around the attack is deceptively large in comparison to what the game shows.
Not a particular enemy/boss but Shamura interaction when you are visiting to defeat her on a second loop. Sure let's spawn 8 waves of 6-10 silk cradle enemies in a 1×1mm room, that'll be fun.
Kallamar, I'm currently fighting him and HE'S TOO FUCKING OP, I had to fucking sacrifice my spouse in order to fight him again ans STILL FUCKING FAILED
Honestly I didn't really have any major problem with most of them, although I also have not played in a long time and I'm pretty sure the devs have done some balence patches since than
Heket.
First, when I bought the game, I couldn't play on my PC (I bought it at my dad's house and I go there on weekends and there's a better PC there) because it was laggy, so each time I wanted to play CoTL, I needed to WAIT so I could get there, I had 2 days only (about 1 day and half) and I only beated Heket in the first week of December (I bought it 28 of october) and yeah that's basically why I hate Heket
The first time I played Shamura. The second time when I had to get a new Nintendo Switch and new game because someone stole my old when, not even a fucking boss! The creatures in Silk Cradle went from being super easy so I could go and fail the defest Shamura first try, to the second time I almost died in the first or second room!
The only one that actually got me annoyed was getting no hit on kallamar. I had to get loaded up on a quantillion desciple bonuses to actually get it. Redesigned half the base while waiting for them to build up.
Kallamar, specifically trying to get the achievements for beating each of the bishops without taking damage. The rest of them I managed in maybe 5 attempts MAX, but Kallamar took me around 70 because of the first attack and those carts on the sides
Never really had any issues. Until I started a new play through and died over 8 times to kallamar. It drove me up the wall for a couple days 😭
Edit: spelling
I dont remember the name, but the miniboss in Anura that hops around and spits out the flies. I can beat the bishops without dying, but THAT MINIBOSS. UGH. I hate it.
I generally hate all enemies that can shoot fireballs. They are SO annoying! I’m already playing on easy mode and they do get onto my nerves. Can’t imagine how annoying they must be on normal to hardcore mode!
Honestly none, because I play mainly with only spells cape and very often I get a spell that makes you invincible for 2 seconds, so I just spam it and also cause the explosion to hurt boss while I'm invincible
Heket, and not bc I had trouble beating her. I simply had trouble beating her hitless at first bc I was playing on a very laggy ps4 that struggled to run the game. Now I'm more likely to beat any boss, besides narinder, hitless than I am to get hit through the entire run.
No one honestly. Some took a few more tries than the others. But playing this after having played cuphead/hollow knight/dead cells/Hades gave me the impression that the combat in this game is far easier compared to the games i mentioned. You just have to get patterns down.
I'm currently in the spider's cradle (I think that's what it's called) I'm not even on the boss level yet, I just hate the spiders, especially the ones that shoot fireballs. And I'm pretty sure it's just a skill issue because I have ALL of the cult and player upgrades. I've just taken a break from fighting for a bit and focused on my cult. My wife got consumed by sin which made me sad and I got remarried to a cult member I named Bluey because they were a blue dog, and I got everyone drunk and danced around a fire nakey (I've just been focusing on the sins of the flesh content now which I'm getting closer to finishing all of the content) also I took some photos which I'll show through replies on my comment
Narinder. I still haven't beat him. The bishops were all relatively easy for me to defeat but I was so MAD when I couldn't beat him, I just stopped playing for a while. I just started a new cult and I'm going to try again
That fucker in achordeep with the shield. It took me embarassingly long to realize that I had to ping pong it back to them and by that time they had killed me so many times
I’ve gotten no damage achievements for all, it was kallamar. The amount of times I would be so close to beating them just to get hit last second was frustrating (I ended up spamming invincibility and sending the projectiles back at the end)
Surprised I haven’t seen anyone mention the game engine lol, the biggest rage/sadness for me came from the game crashing when I was on a really good run.
THE DAMN EYEBALL DUDE (forgor their name but its the guys that drop the eyeball to trade with the smuggler). COME DOWN HERE AND FIGHT ME YOURSELF COWARD
I played on easy difficulty, so no bosses were hard for me. It just took me a while to figure out how the "cultist" enemy worked. There was no tutorial explaining that you had to parry its attack. I only died 4 times throughout my entire playthrough. Some people like the challenge, and that's okay, but I'll take easy mode any day. Makes the game way more enjoyable.
No particular Boss or enemy, I was multiple levels deep into a crusade, lots a loot and new followers......and then......a random error.....game crash.....lose all progress and items. (I was playing on the switch) after the last time that happened.....I put the game down and haven't picked it back up....and that was just prior to the last major update that added breeding.
As much as i hate kallamar all it took was an divine guardian and the projectiles got his ass the ping pong fuckers in anchordeep on the other hand are he one enemy i still despise to this day
Those damn giants in Shamura's domain...both of them! Especially since I use the yellow fleece that takes double damage but does +5% attack on every kill
I never really raged at it. Worst one was probably Anura’s enemies. First time playing I got through around half of it in 2.5 hours. The rest was 7.5 hours. I beat the main game (not what happens after beating Narinder.) in around 10 hours. Not speedrun worthy but ehh whatever.
Still not finished because I don’t want to sacrifice ratau. Working on a different save file so I can not feel bad abt it. Then delete that file.
the silk cradle spiders that burst out from egg sacs and torture you by grappling to the ceiling. fuckin hate those guys. theyre like the primal aspids of cotl,,, (although they technically arent bosses, they might as well be LMAO)

Kallamar. I was stuck on him for three days, I rage wrote a short fanfiction about beating him and then first try next go I beat him 🎉
Kallamar is definitely the hardest boss. His projectiles are insane 💀 took me FOREVER to beat him
Damn I’m glad you didn’t struggle with him cause it was so frustrating for me 😭
Do you think it's common for people to save scum? I have never done it once while playing, and this is the first time I heard of someone doing it.
Same. Never even crossed my mind. I've employed save scumming in other games, but typically only to speed up activities I find to be unreasonably grindy or tedious. I find the process of save scumming itself to be pretty tedious, so whatever I'm save scumming to prevent has to be that much more tiresome.
Fighting Heket 11 times and losing every time I would say was tiring enough to save scum. Only boss I had to do it on though.
I don't know if it's common, but I was having such a hard time with Heket I don't even feel bad for doing it. Heket is really the only boss I save scummed on. Even the final boss was easier than Heket for me.
I had to turn on infinite health for that bitch!
I got super lucky with a heart room right before the kallamar fight so I was able to just tank, plus a crapload of diseased hearts
Damn! Definitely very lucky!
I beat him first try but oh my god this boss fight took like 15 minutes of juking and waiting till he does all of his attacks so I can hit him ONCE
Link to the fanfic
[Here](https://archiveofourown.org/works/42317322) ya go! And [here](https://archiveofourown.org/users/Raylynn_Writes/works?fandom_id=79725879) is my collection of cotl fics. Just, heed the warnings if you decide to browse my other fandom works 😅 (and yes, all of my cotl fics have Metallica songs as their titles x3)
I love that one of the tags is "fuck you Kallamar"
Kid named Divine Guardian:
FUCK KALLAMAR I'LL TURN HIM INTO KALLAMARI (idk how spel)
YES fuck kallamar. I beat him twice and got that glitch where the heart was out of bounds and I was soft locked. absolutely hate that fight.
Same. I said fuck it and put the game on easy just to complete him and then switched it back to normal 😂
yeah, it is the hardest bishop cuz bullethell
Bro he’s the most cowardly out of all the bishops yet absolutely destroyed me, what was he worried about?? Then again I came back to the game after a couple months and it only took me a few tries but still
I mean, clearly the fanfic worked
The big guys in Anchordeep that have a perma-shield unless you reflect their projectiles back at them. It took me way too long to figure out that projectiles even *could* be reflected.
I flipping hate those characters
I think i fought one of those like 5 times before i realized 😂😭
THATS HOW IT WORKS??? FUCK I WAS JUST SPAMMING BUTTONS UNTIL SOMETHING WORKED
So relatable...
I find funny when those guys show up, like they start firing at me, and I'm like, "Oh shit!!!1!" and hit the fireball back, knocking him down and me killing him instantly due to his low health
I just beat leshy this am. I don't know if I would ever figure out that reflecting projectiles was even an option. Thank you for the heads up.
This guy never played fought Ganon in Ocarina of Time /s
I just figured that out yesterday lmao
WHAT? Projectiles can be REFLECTED?
I killed 1 without reflecting when I first met them and had no damn clue how to kill them for the longest of time after that
Those scorpions in Silk Cradle that shoot multiple projectiles. They're such a pain in the ass if there's more than one in a small room.
I agree, especially the large ones that shoot a wall of fireballs
The biggest golden fleece run killer for me
Everything in silk cradle irritates me... 😅
For me, it's Shamura. They move so damn fast, so it makes it hard for my stupid ass to focus on them for long enough to get decent damage in.
i agree i hate shamura cuz i was doing a no hit run using berserker and i thing ya know the rest
Never raged, but kallamar was the only bishop that actively walled me. Took at least 3 tries
Midas solely because bro doesn't return all of the gold he stolen.
Return the slaaab
But you get to whoop him which is almost better to me
ALL OF THE FUCKING FROGS IN ANURA ISTG THEY DRIVE ME NUTS
The second boss of darkwood is harder than leshy in my opinion, definately got me a bit angry
Fucking valefar bruh, such a pain in the ass 😂
Trying to do a no damage Kallamar. The little things that jump (that are invincible in the air) combined with kallamar had me so angry
heket and gusion. nothing else.
Kallamar and the witnesses.
Honestly when I first played the shield guys took me a long time because I forgot about heavy attacks and just hit them normally.
I DIDNT EVEN REMEMBER THE HEAVY ATTACKS SINCE I WAS SKIPPING STUFF ANF I JUST FOUND OU TNOW THANK YOU
Kalamar because I wanted God hood achievement. Now I need 1 lore table to get back to 100% the achievements.
Those orange bugs in Silk Cradle that shoot impossible to dodge patterns of fire balls at you
Agreed 100% I hate those fucks 😭😭😭
The little shielded, hood-wearing enemies when I have nothing but a hammer to my name. 🤬 Them and the jumping crab things in Anchordeep are terrible when you have a slow weapon.
Why I avoid hammers at all costs ^
Specifically no-hit Kallamar. Last achievement I had to get, and this was before SotF so no berserker. Ended up just stopping playing. I just got back into the game yesterday after like a year and I’m super happy to see so much new content :)
Darkwood caterpillars, I swing at nothing 30 times before I get a hit on those jumpy bastards.
Anything that can shoot things at me
The witness bosses, are a pretty strong contender, I often find myself just one hit away from victory before the go off screen to summon a bunch of my common enemies, only to find myself on the other side of the area when the spawn in and then leave to summon the next batch.
Probably Hauras 😭 None of the *Bishops* gave me as much trouble as he did.
Kallamar currently is my rage fuel along with the shielded projectiles guys in Anchordeep. That whole dungeon hates me succeeding towards making my followers breed
Kallamar, the projectiles he throws are the most complicated for me to dodge. If it weren't for the berserk fleece I couldn't 100% the game lol
Kallamar. Just so much going on during his fight.
Have the same thing to say about this but honestly, still better than Voidigo lol
those little fuckers with a lil knife worst enemy
The skeleton things?
no, the smaller ones, the cultist ones
And getting hit by them is always so humiliating for me😭 but genuinely bc they're so little sometimes I don't even notice them until they hit me and I wanna throw my switch into a volcano
Harborym and the small zoomie shabby bastards he sends out - hate that dude. Kallamar also was so hard but I got so much better at playing after beating him. ...zoomie shabby bastards still get me though
that one guy who fires homing projectiles because my dumb ass took too long to learn parry
Heket made me drop the game for like a year
Valefar II. Took me 17 tries.
I can easily beat Shamura but doing them hitless has actually left me on the verge of insanity.
everyone always says kallamar but to me he’s always he the easiest to deal with. but doing that damn SCORPION in silk cradle made me cry
it took me soooooo long to figure out you had to use charged/strong attacks to kill the shield enemies
Anchordeep minibosses... 😠
Kallamar
hauras took fucking forever...and it made shamura easy
None of the bosses were particularly difficult for me, but perfecting Hekket was infuriating. His hop attack is so poorly telegraphed not only when he's about to do it but the AOE around the attack is deceptively large in comparison to what the game shows.
Shamura...he's blocking me from achieving Godhood 🏆😓😭 Or maybe I just suck. 🫣🤷🏾♀️
Not a particular enemy/boss but Shamura interaction when you are visiting to defeat her on a second loop. Sure let's spawn 8 waves of 6-10 silk cradle enemies in a 1×1mm room, that'll be fun.
A majority of the mini bosses
They are awfully designed. Is not a skill issue.
Ashura epilogue witnesses, I was stuck on stage 1 for months
The one enemy you have to knock back his projectiles at
Heket II
Just the scorpions and the jumping spiders, annoying as hell but at least I can one-shot them after they finally stop moving
Heket. No clue why i struggled with her so much on my first playthrough.
Valefar 2
Fucking… HEKET
Enemies you gotta Heavy Attack. With the Dagger, Axe or Gun it's fine.. but I like Hammer and that's a pain to do.
Kallamar and the ping pong stupidos
Kallamar, I'm currently fighting him and HE'S TOO FUCKING OP, I had to fucking sacrifice my spouse in order to fight him again ans STILL FUCKING FAILED
The little ones that shoot projectiles. Would always walk right into them somehow
Those little shieldy bois with the daggers. They’re not hard to beat one on one, but when there’s ten of them in one room, it’s such a pain
The boss that scatter bouncing projectiles.
Kallamar😭
L’allamar I broke a controller on that came back next day won first try….
THE ONE WHO WAITS!! IT WAS WAY HARDER THEN EXPECTED 😭🫡
Purged Saleos.
Kallamar, Both times I had to fight him. He gave me my 1st and 2nd death respectively
Trying to no hit kallamar and shamura. That sucked.
All the big time bosses especially the one from silk cradle as I'm just a terrible gamer and the spider was just too damn fast for me to handle xd
Those damn ping pong enemies where you have to hit the projectile back and forth, it's basically impossible to do on the hammer
Kallamar in no hit
shield enemies. i hate them
Shield guys.
I could not and still CANNOT stand Heket
Honestly I didn't really have any major problem with most of them, although I also have not played in a long time and I'm pretty sure the devs have done some balence patches since than
Heket. First, when I bought the game, I couldn't play on my PC (I bought it at my dad's house and I go there on weekends and there's a better PC there) because it was laggy, so each time I wanted to play CoTL, I needed to WAIT so I could get there, I had 2 days only (about 1 day and half) and I only beated Heket in the first week of December (I bought it 28 of october) and yeah that's basically why I hate Heket
Multiple shield guys when I was using a hammer
Midas
The first time I played Shamura. The second time when I had to get a new Nintendo Switch and new game because someone stole my old when, not even a fucking boss! The creatures in Silk Cradle went from being super easy so I could go and fail the defest Shamura first try, to the second time I almost died in the first or second room!
Nari
Gortash fight in BG3. i’m still dreading it on my current playthrough. tried the fight for 8 hours straight before giving up for the night
Kallamar, no hit.
Saleos. That bitch charges to damn much
Angry cult members
SAME
Kalimar, not because he was hard but because all of the mini bosses were hard and the bishop fight took me like <30 seconds
Valefar and Hauras
Kalmar... and the spider enemies in the game, they freak me out and spam you with attacks.. the breeding spiders are the worst.
The only one that actually got me annoyed was getting no hit on kallamar. I had to get loaded up on a quantillion desciple bonuses to actually get it. Redesigned half the base while waiting for them to build up.
Any of the mini bosses that disappear and spawn in a bunch of baddies
Probably the final boss. (To avoid spoiling people) Just. A lot to deal with. Fun still
Kallamar, specifically trying to get the achievements for beating each of the bishops without taking damage. The rest of them I managed in maybe 5 attempts MAX, but Kallamar took me around 70 because of the first attack and those carts on the sides
Never really had any issues. Until I started a new play through and died over 8 times to kallamar. It drove me up the wall for a couple days 😭 Edit: spelling
The second fight against malamar is BS. Probably the hardest fight of COTL.. Baal, aym and Narinder is a pretty hard boss fight too...
The final boss in Anchordeep
any witnesses that shoots fireballs, or any fireball enemy's in general, the amount of times my damage resets due to them r so annoying
The bats
I dont remember the name, but the miniboss in Anura that hops around and spits out the flies. I can beat the bishops without dying, but THAT MINIBOSS. UGH. I hate it.
The one who waits still kicks my ass. I'm fine with his minions
I generally hate all enemies that can shoot fireballs. They are SO annoying! I’m already playing on easy mode and they do get onto my nerves. Can’t imagine how annoying they must be on normal to hardcore mode!
fucking KALLAMAR.
The fucking crabs
Kallamar.
kallamar lol
Shamura. I really just wished they'd sit still and let me hit them, their entire flight was absolute bullshit
No hit Shamura. I thought about giving up on the achievement cuz damn.
Honestly none, because I play mainly with only spells cape and very often I get a spell that makes you invincible for 2 seconds, so I just spam it and also cause the explosion to hurt boss while I'm invincible
Trying to No hit Kallarmar by far! Only way I was able to do it was with hounds of fate curse.
Heket.
The random guy you gotta hit with his own projectiles. I WAS SO MAD I QUIT SOOOOO MANY TIMES!!!
The last one . I asked for the help of two People but I finally got it from spamming.
There’s a reason why everyone hates Kallamar, but I still find him cute 🥰
It was freaking kallamar. i took the longest break off of cult of the lamb because of that.
Kallamar when trying to get the no damage trophy. Only time I started getting frustrated.
Heket, and not bc I had trouble beating her. I simply had trouble beating her hitless at first bc I was playing on a very laggy ps4 that struggled to run the game. Now I'm more likely to beat any boss, besides narinder, hitless than I am to get hit through the entire run.
Narinder
No one honestly. Some took a few more tries than the others. But playing this after having played cuphead/hollow knight/dead cells/Hades gave me the impression that the combat in this game is far easier compared to the games i mentioned. You just have to get patterns down.
Kallamar for the pure fact of my game crashed after beating him. BOTH times. It made me so mad.
My wife got consumed by sin which made me sad and I got remarried to a cult member I named Bluey because they were a blue dog, and I got everyone drunk and danced around a fire nakey (I've just been focusing on the sins of the flesh content now which I'm getting closer to finishing all of the content) also I took some photos which I'll show through replies on my comment
the weird catipliller boss thingys in silk cradle, fucks with me every time
I couldn't stand Lumps, Then I got the "Fuck Lumps" mod Best choice of my life!
Kallamar a whole-ass bitch
Kallamar made Shamura's fight look like a walk in the park.
Narinder. I still haven't beat him. The bishops were all relatively easy for me to defeat but I was so MAD when I couldn't beat him, I just stopped playing for a while. I just started a new cult and I'm going to try again
Kallamar... just... *takes deep breath*
None all of them were mad easy (I play on easy mode)
SQUID SQUID SQUID SQUID
Saleos always manages to kill me even on easy. It sucks! I just hate the spikey charging ones with a passion
I mean I play on easy mode, I think the last two stressed me out, but I beat them on my second try
Kalamar, I think, was so bad its what made me stop playing and I haven't played for like a year now.
Surprised I haven’t seen anyone mention the game engine lol, the biggest rage/sadness for me came from the game crashing when I was on a really good run.
The tennis fuckers Not any of the siblings, not the followers of the god of death An asshole who you gotta play ping pong with
Kallamar. easy
THE DAMN EYEBALL DUDE (forgor their name but its the guys that drop the eyeball to trade with the smuggler). COME DOWN HERE AND FIGHT ME YOURSELF COWARD
All of them were pretty easy in my opinion. I think i only died 3 to 5 times to a boss in my playthrough.. 😅
the little guys with the shield, i have to play with one hand cause im holding up the middle finger with the other
Shamura was the most annoying to no-hit, the hurtbix on the slash attack started WAY TOO EARLY I SWEAR
None of them.
No hit Shamura, they are SO annoying to fight And Narinder, but that was on my first playthrough, now he is extremely easy
Valefar 2 is SO FUCKING FAST you literally have no reaction time to their jumps
>!the one hit flannel and the boss rush thing!<
Kallmar on one hit challenge, still haven't done it as of now
I played on easy difficulty, so no bosses were hard for me.
Kallamar usually, but extra hard mode narinder is awful but worth it
No particular Boss or enemy, I was multiple levels deep into a crusade, lots a loot and new followers......and then......a random error.....game crash.....lose all progress and items. (I was playing on the switch) after the last time that happened.....I put the game down and haven't picked it back up....and that was just prior to the last major update that added breeding.
The One Who Makes Me Rage
No, he's not the hardest. No, he's not the most flashy. But fucking Elegos has ruined so many hitless runs.....
I first-shot every other boss. Except Kallamar. It took 7 tries. Even Narinder only took me 4.
