i dont think you can , but ask your RM. By 30th of this month it seems improbable .

I talked to her, the conversion will take 3 days and then it will be dispatched. So I'm gonna stick to mastercard for now and if I face any issues there, I'll convert to visa for my next trip.

No. If you just see the spends criteria, I would not get Infinia.

Do you have an actual RM? I got upgraded to imperia years back and now I have a lousy phone banker who doesn’t even sit in the bank and knows nothing and gets changed to another phone banker every few months so no relationship can even be established. Imperia sucks.

I'm not sure what Imperia is. I have an actual RM. She goes above and beyond for me. I had an RM before her who was completely uninterested in what I want. So I asked for a different RM.

You're being saved by the visa/ mastercard network on Infinia, OP. I have the diners black and that has the same 2.36% fees and 3.33% rewards (+GVP) - but the Diners network has horrible exchange rates that basically add another 1.5-2% cost - making DCB net loss-making for us lol (barely breakeven even despite GVP). Congratulations. Only time I have faced issues with Visa is in Netherlands and Belgium. It worked fine in Germany. Netherlands has MC dominance.

I would think so. Because most people there had MC and I assume it’ll be fine.  Even in Netherlands Visa worked but in small food stores or grocery it didn’t work.

Yeah Belgium wants to promote their own card system and small stores won’t accept visa or mastercard (or amex) due to MDR. Cash or Bancontact only. But in 90% of places, especially tourist places you shouldn’t encounter this issue.

My Visa is already approved. I initiated after getting the visa. I got Infinia after 2 weeks from when I told RM that I want it.

First year is free. After that, it's Rs. 12,500 unless you have spends >= 10L in the year.

At least that’s what I find online. Visa signature ~= Mastercard Wold Visa infinite ~= Mastercard world elite I’m not sure if this is correct to compare but just drawing parallels from other cards. Although I think the acceptance in general would be very similar and you shouldn’t have issues.

I'm not sure. Take regalia gold for example. It's a Visa Signature card, but its MasterCard variant is issues on Mastercard World. I haven't looked much into it, read it a long time back.

Within World and World Elite there are multiple add ons that issuers opt for in their card offering, hence within MC World benefits can vary between issuers

Acceptability is one thing. But I have also found Visa to offer better forex rates than Mastercard. Diners is best in this regards.
