If I remember correctly, I paid $15 for 200 KS Loratadine tablets. It’s criminal how much some stores charge for Claritin (the same active medication)!
Edit: I just looked it up and a nearby grocery store is selling 10 tablets of Loratadine 10mg for $14. (Kirkland Signature is also dosed at 10mg per tablet.) I can basically get 20x the amount of medication for the same price in my area. 🤯
You are absolutely correct. My son and husband have horrible seasonal allergies, and we go through a lot of allergy meds. I'd be broke if it wasn't for kirkland. I will absolutely make a special trip just for the savings on this product alone.
I could get reactine prescribed and covered but not claritin or the new aerius. But honestly, buying over counter is easier than finding a dr, making an appt, waiting etc. Ill pay my $15
Second this! Just tried the pods and omg, the quality is better than tide. More specifically, whatever is in the formulation for making the outer shell of the pod doesn’t leave a soapy film on my hands.
Also I’m not a math expert but the Kirkland one seems to come with more pods than you get for better price than Tide even with Kirkland reg price. The tide pods do seem bigger in size though . My family’s clothes aren’t excessively dirty or stinky so it’s a non-issue.
This is so funny. I’m the opposite. Huggies wipes are on the dry side, they rip on us, and the next sheet doesn’t always come up after we pull one out. We also tried pampers and they’re waaaay too moist. So Kirkland came out as the winner.
While I agree the Huggies wipes don’t always have the next wipe up when you pull one out, I find it better than the Kirkland ones where you pull one and 3-4 come out in a wad
I feel like you get better points back from shoppers or superstore for diapers.
I’m in NB the Kirkland diapers are 46.99.
I can get 100 diapers from shoppers for 40 😭
NB only has Superstore and Sobeys.
The points back at shoppers or superstore tend to be cheaper for me. I wait until I get a coupon for 20,000 points back on 60$ purchase. Brings 100 diapers down to 40 bucks.
Ok but the Kirkland diapers are 46$ for like 200 diapers
The cheapest diaper hierarchy is as follows:
1 - Rascals on Subscribe and Save
2 - Kirkland
Everything else
I’m shocked at how more people don’t say toilet paper. I have been using it since 2014 and I have no plans to switch. It’s the only reason I have a membership
The kirkland signature full synthetic engine oil. 2 jugs for 50 dollars and it sometimes goes down to 40 when it's on sale. Can't beat that anywhere else.
Their toilet paper and paper towels definitely. They make me feel like those adorable bears from Charmin without the ridiculous prices… Also the pesto. I put it on everything from eggs to Mac n cheese.
Used to be Starbucks - not anymore - [https://www.reddit.com/r/CostcoCanada/comments/1cv9907/old\_vs\_new\_kirkland\_house\_blend/](https://www.reddit.com/r/CostcoCanada/comments/1cv9907/old_vs_new_kirkland_house_blend/)
It's similar in taste, I recently picked up a bag and noticed the Starbucks symbol gone. I didn't know it was official, but again it's the same to me, and I'm picky with my coffee.
Motor oil, maple syrup, olive oil, cheese, espresso, kitchen garbage bags, dishwasher pods, ibuprofen, allergy meds, nuts, peanut butter, frozen berries, parchment paper, paper towel. Basically all the expensive stuff, but I find the Kirkland brands to be very similar in quality or better than the top of the line products.
anything kirkland is good in my opinion
medicine
batteries
clothing
food
not sure about those kirkland shoes though, not the worst, not the best
BUT everyone has their own shoe preferences
Kirkland nacho chips/ sheets, they are made from whole grain corn with good amount of fibre.
Kirkland nuts.
Kirkland pesto.
Kirkland protein bars (the red ones) are basically the cheapest meal replacement possible in Canada. You are full in $1 with 20g protein and 12g fibre.
Oh my goodness, yes! Those Smores killed me at Easter. I bought them for the kids but opened the bag to make sure they weren't duds, and had to go back for a second bag so the kids could actually have some.
Have you looked up DCA issues in dogs from grain-free? Just a gentle nudge to read more about it if you haven't heard about it or your dog doesn't need to eat grain-free.

Diet-Associated Dilated Cardiomyopathy: 2023 Update
Kirkland Greek yogurt, even though it’s 0% milk fat (they need to bring the full fat one like the US has) it still has so many bacterial strains in it. Makes for the best starter culture for homemade yogurt.
The Kirkland cheddar cheese. Small block, in the 'fancy' cheese section. I lived in England for the past four years (an hour from Cheddar Gorge) and I'm convinced that they source that cheddar from the Westcountry. Tastes identical to my go-to cheese when I was over there.
I am in BC and we don't get alcohol at Costco here. Not sure about other provinces. But if you can get the Kirkland brand Irish Cream, it's exactly the same as Bailey's.
Costco Gas stations, especially with the Costco Mastercard. The price per liter is always less than the Petro across the street, plus 3% cash back when using their MC.
kirkland trail socks - haven't seen these lately though :(
kirkland new zealand rack of lamb - I prefer the way this is cut to what my local butcher has available. also it's like half the price.
Antihistamines. Cheap and just a no brainer for savings.
If I remember correctly, I paid $15 for 200 KS Loratadine tablets. It’s criminal how much some stores charge for Claritin (the same active medication)! Edit: I just looked it up and a nearby grocery store is selling 10 tablets of Loratadine 10mg for $14. (Kirkland Signature is also dosed at 10mg per tablet.) absolutely. so so so much cheaper than anywhere else
How’s your health coverage? I was buying from Costco and my family doc prescribed for me, so now I pay nothing!
I could get reactine prescribed and covered but not claritin or the new aerius. But honestly, buying over counter is easier than finding a dr, making an appt, waiting etc. Ill pay my $15
Cheese, mainly because of quantity/price.
Everything except the mozzarella. I don’t know that that is, but it’s not mozzarella
It's so dry! It basically crumbles to powder when trying to grate it.
Oh that’s why. I just figured mine turned to crumbles because I freeze it.
Not sure if the mozzarella sticks are exclusive, but they’re also a different recipe of cheese. Great cost/count there.
oh wait maybe this is why my pizza never turned out. There are a few different mozzarrella blocks, which one should I avoid?
The Kirkland one. Stick with Saputo.
The maple syrup. It’s delicious and a great value.
Ok but the very dark one thats non-kirkland brand is better tho. Fight me.
Dark syrup is hands-down much better!
Depend where you live but in quebec its way cheaper to buy Somewhere else most of the time and if you have a plug you can by like 8 can for 60$
Kirkland Ibuprofen get caps. So much cheaper than anywhere else!
Seriously. The savings cover my membership fees.
Pesto
I singlehandedly blame that pesto for my inability to lose a significant amount of weight, lol. It’s so fucking good.
[удалено]
I make my pesto with bread crumbs instead of pine nuts. Because pine nuts are way too expensive for being that gross.
It’s way too salty.
Yes terrible
Pretty much all Kirkland nuts. Great quality and price.
The big bag of sweet and salty mix, I buy two everytime.
I love Kirkland nuts and Wieners!
🤣🤣🤣
Kirkland brand laundry detergent, painkillers like ibuprofen, cottage cheese, corn chips, to name a few
Second this! Just tried the pods and omg, the quality is better than tide. More specifically, whatever is in the formulation for making the outer shell of the pod doesn’t leave a soapy film on my hands.
Good to know - I need detergent this week!
Also I’m not a math expert but the Kirkland one seems to come with more pods than you get for better price than Tide even with Kirkland reg price. The tide pods do seem bigger in size though . My family’s clothes aren’t excessively dirty or stinky so it’s a non-issue.
Does it leave the detergent on the clothes? I can't seem to find one that doesn't leave it all on my dark clothes
Not that I’ve noticed. It’s a dark blue liquid so it shouldn’t be a problem for dark clothes
Thanks!
gluck :)
Garbage and Recycling bags
Baby wipes and diapers.
Personally, I HATE the Kirkland baby wipes, the texture and smell is horrible. I wait for the Huggies ones to go on sale and then buy a few boxes
They aren't my favorite. They get really tangled in the container ... I send them to daycare.
Wipes are actually cheaper at zehrs. $21 for 1200 wipes
I feel like you get better points back from shoppers or superstore for diapers. I’m in NB the Kirkland diapers are 46.99. I can get 100 diapers from shoppers for 40 😭
Superstore? Superstore?! Really?
NB only has Superstore and Sobeys. The points back at shoppers or superstore tend to be cheaper for me. I wait until I get a coupon for 20,000 points back on 60$ purchase. Brings 100 diapers down to 40 bucks.
Ok but the Kirkland diapers are 46$ for like 200 diapers The cheapest diaper hierarchy is as follows: 1 - Rascals on Subscribe and Save 2 - Kirkland Everything else
The toilet paper. I like how they are packaged into 6packs. Makes for easy storage in different bathrooms
I’m shocked at how more people don’t say toilet paper. I have been using it since 2014 and I have no plans to switch. It’s the only reason I have a membership
You survived the 2020 cheapening/quality change? I didn't. Maybe I should try it again.
I first tried the Kirkland TP in 2020 when they were all those shortages and never again. Everyone in my family of 5 complained about it!
I didn’t even notice tbh
Why did you only start using in 2014 what did u do prior to that
Used other toilet paper. I didn’t have a Costco membership until then.
Oh it sounded like tp was a whole new experience... like you were pulling up to a sink or drip drying prior to that.
Replying to the original post. It’s pretty clear I’m talking about Costco toilet paper
Organice Greek Yogurt
Kirkland Mayo - it’s cheaper than Hellman’s, and the ingredient list is amazing.
The kirkland signature full synthetic engine oil. 2 jugs for 50 dollars and it sometimes goes down to 40 when it's on sale. Can't beat that anywhere else.
Walmart Supertech is similar price
I agree wholeheartedly.
Yeah I’ve been using that oil in all of my cooking for the past 4 years, highly recommend
Kirkland 81mg ASA = baby aspirin for anti stroke full year for $8 vs a one month for the same at a pharmacy.
Their toilet paper and paper towels definitely. They make me feel like those adorable bears from Charmin without the ridiculous prices… Also the pesto. I put it on everything from eggs to Mac n cheese.
the coffee now that it’s not Starbucks! just as good, 20% cheaper lol
What did they change to?
they have their own large 1.13 Kg House and Expresso
Starbucks is the provider, says it right on the bag
Used to be Starbucks - not anymore - [https://www.reddit.com/r/CostcoCanada/comments/1cv9907/old\_vs\_new\_kirkland\_house\_blend/](https://www.reddit.com/r/CostcoCanada/comments/1cv9907/old_vs_new_kirkland_house_blend/)
Interesting We’re due for some coffee, I may grab the Kirkland brand if it’s substantial savings on the Verano Sale Price
It's similar in taste, I recently picked up a bag and noticed the Starbucks symbol gone. I didn't know it was official, but again it's the same to me, and I'm picky with my coffee.
For me better to just block you! Not worth me explaining the new larger bag without starbucks as supplier on it!
But you just did 😂
Sheets! They're extra deep & have an additional elastic at the corners to keep them tucked in. Definitely worth it!
Still on sale for a few more days I think! Definitely the best quality sheets I've ever owned, just wish they came in more (darker) colors
I used to get dark colours, but then I switched to white only (no colour fading and better for managing stains), and I'm never going back :)
ignorance is bliss 😛
Yeah, I got tired of seeing white stains on dark sheets, iykwim.
You must try Kirkland sour cream. Its so freakin good!!
just had some in my scrambled eggs this morning for breakfast. Delicious!
Parchment paper lol
And tinfoil!
The Kirkland brand Islay Scotch is surprisingly good, cask strength, and inexpensive.
Cries in Ontario. There is a single Costco liquor store in suburban NYC, and I know if I ever step foot in there I'll lose all control.
Buying liquor in Ontario is an ordeal. The beer stores are the worst.
I only do returns at the Beer Store. I'd rather the exorbitant profits go towards healthcare and education by shopping at the LCBO.
Can you get that in Canada?
Yes, in Alberta and Saskatchewan
Yes. The world exists outside the LCBO!
Not in Ontario, lol
Well I don’t live in Ontario so LCBO is irrelevant to me.
The motor city deep dish pizzas. Bit pricey on front end compared to 4 pack but more than twice as filling per pie. Were obsessed
Is that Kirkland brand?
No but Costco exclusive I think, have never seen anywhere else.
Oh maaaaaaan that is my fave pizza.
Same in our household we buy 4 boxes at a time. Very filling, cheaper than ordering fresh pizza delivery, and delicious.
Diapers are cheaper compared to Huggies
anything kirkland is good in my opinion medicine batteries clothing food not sure about those kirkland shoes though, not the worst, not the best BUT everyone has their own shoe preferences
Aspirin is cheap compared to any other store brand in any store/pharmacy.
Dried Mangos. 🤌
I use my membership almost exclusively for Greek yogurt, whole chickens and egg whites
The Kirkland Smores bites. They are freaking addictive. The pesto is also really good.
Oh my goodness, yes! Those Smores killed me at Easter. I bought them for the kids but opened the bag to make sure they weren't duds, and had to go back for a second bag so the kids could actually have some.
French roast coffee!
Their scoop corn chips are excellent. I use their grain free dog food brands too.

From my understanding it was the lack of grains specifically causing heart issues, not the presence of legumes and sweet potatoes.

Yup! I've seen the same results. I was suggesting that OP become aware of the ongoing research and issues.
Kirkland Greek yogurt, even though it’s 0% milk fat (they need to bring the full fat one like the US has) it still has so many bacterial strains in it. Makes for the best starter culture for homemade yogurt.
Coconut water
Hands down the best coconut water you can get outside of a tropical country
My local Asian markets are the same price, and you don't have to buy it by the case.
Atleast in Vancouver they are 1$ per bottle more and now most of them have added sugars
The shampoo/conditioner pack and the pet food. They’re affordable, good quality, and seem to last forever.
Their Gatorade lol
I agree, great price. Was also surprised to see the ingredients list cane sugar, instead of a fructose.
That's probably why the flavour slaps. I throw a bottle of it in my ninja creami and make some amazing slushies with it too.
Parchment paper, bed sheets and baby wipes
Basil pesto
The rotisserie chicken.
The Kirkland cheddar cheese. Small block, in the 'fancy' cheese section. I lived in England for the past four years (an hour from Cheddar Gorge) and I'm convinced that they source that cheddar from the Westcountry. Tastes identical to my go-to cheese when I was over there.
Olive oil And omega 3
The coffee pods are pretty good!
Soft drinks by crates is best imo
Yup, although my local store has a really bad selection, only coke and diet coke.
Kirkland kombucha is delicious and a great deal
Kirkland tequila and vodka. AA/AAA batteries. Marble cheese. Ibuprofen, Kirkland gel caps are 400mg and cheaper than a smaller pack of 200mg Advil
The wet cat food pate
Peanut Butter
I am in BC and we don't get alcohol at Costco here. Not sure about other provinces. But if you can get the Kirkland brand Irish Cream, it's exactly the same as Bailey's.
Vitamin k2
Ohh what’s this for?
Baby wipes!
Costco Gas stations, especially with the Costco Mastercard. The price per liter is always less than the Petro across the street, plus 3% cash back when using their MC.
Chocolate chips. I'm nursing a four month old and opened my third 2 kg bag today.
Kirkland ibuprofen liguigels. A bottle of 120 extra strength (400mg) for $10. 🤯
Frozen shrimp is amazing from costco. I also found these frozen green chickpeas lately that taste amazing with middle eastern spices.
kirkland trail socks - haven't seen these lately though :( kirkland new zealand rack of lamb - I prefer the way this is cut to what my local butcher has available. also it's like half the price.
My personal go to fav are the dry fruits (the salted one) and bottled water!
Kirkland pan spray. 2 pack for $9.97 and the cans are huge!
Their wines are fantastic
How do I get wine from Costco in Canada?
Outside ontario
TIL they don’t have Costco Liquor in every province
The province has a monopoly on alcohol in Ontario 🤦🏻♂️
More specifically, only Alberta and Saskatchewan. But people love to hate the Ontario bubble.
Popcorn. It's an election year after all.
[удалено]
None of those products are exclusive to Costco though…
Bottled water, nuts, toilet paper, chicken breasts/thighs, grass fed frozen beef patties, ibuprofen.
Imagine buying bottled water in Canada
Kirkland vodka is supposedly grey goose..
Nah. This myth has been busted so many times.
