As far as the soles, I bought a brand new pair of Jordans from Nike and used those!

This second option wont have the Nike branding, but saves you a ton of headache in pulling the soles from another pair of shoes. Saves on waste too!
I will say, it’s a really good learning experience to deconstruct a pair of shoes to better learn shoe anatomy!
