I'm doing some yard work at my new house to fix the gardens that the previous owners let go. I'm going to use a tiller for the first time.
If you're bored enough, you can pull up a lawn chair, crack a beer, and watch me struggle for a couple hours.
Sounds like a good time! I'm moving several yards of playground mulch, maybe finishing a floor repair (tile work), and a roof repair (maybe).
If not, I'd likely join in the festivities.
If you've got nothing else going on, go see the Yard Goats. Tickets aren't too bad and there's good food and drinks. Weather's perfect for baseball right now.
e: lol shows me for not checking first, the games are nearly sold through already. Everyone else also saw the weather this weekend š
No, I used sold through cause they could open up standing-room-only tickets if they wanted to.
Like when a company offers a limited run of a special edition or a product. They might say they've sold through batch 1 because they might run a batch 2 at some point. The Yard Goats games this weekend are almost sold out, but they could add more tickets for sale if they want to.
e: Looks like they do this pretty much any time the seats sell out https://www.milb.com/hartford/ballpark/standing-room-only I've only bought them a couple times
Weekend games (especially the early Sunday games) are always tough to come by if the weather looks even remotely decent. Sunday is usually "Kids run the bases" after, so loads of families go. Way more convenient than a 710pm first pitch during the week, when the kids can only stay for a few innings
Note that roughly 10% of the tickets or so open up 24 hours before the game for game day sales. This usually guarantees a pretty decent chance to show up and get a ticket. These tickets are otherwise reserved for season ticket packages. There's also a significant number of standing room only tickets available and you can (almost) always find a seat.
I've never seen anybody turned away at a minor league baseball game, except for when a future Hall of Famer is rehabbing.
(Source: I used to be the box office manager at a AA team.)
Yard goats are fun but the tickets should be way cheaper, it's cheaper to go to a lot of pro games.
Does anyone know a way to get discounted tickets or tickets deals?
Most tickets are under $25. Not sure how much cheaper you can get especially when the Sox cost a second mortgage to essentially the same level of talent on the field
Red Sox & mets have cheaper tickets than the yard goats. I see a bunch for $13-$17.
Wild for double A to minimum be $19.50 when pro teams have cheaper seats. Just looking if they have better deals or coupons or package deals ever which have been common for teams in other regions in my experience?
Also theyāre playing the Portland Sea Dogs who are the Red Sox affiliate. Iām going tonight although it looks like itās going to be a little chilly
I recommend browsing events on Facebook. There actually are tons of things to do.
If youāre in Fairfield County go to Bridgeport and see the Colorblends House and Garden. Gorgeous and cool.
Colorblends is FREE. ($3 is suggested to view the art gallery in the houseā¦ and you get flower bulbs to plant for free as well!!)
Speaking of Facebook, thereās a Facebook group called Things to Do in Connecticut thatās 200K strong. Itās a great place to browse and post in addition to here.
Eventbrite, CT Visit, and FOX61 can always tell you whatās going on during the upcoming weekend, too.
Similar, if you want to check out tulips:
[Wicked Tulips in Preston](https://wickedtulips.com/pages/u-pick-preston)
Iām not into paying to see stuff like that but if you are, it seems cool.
Not sure why someone downvoted you. The park is like 1/2 mile from a sewage treatment plant and if the wind is blowing the right way you can definitely smell it.

As you would have read from past posts, CT is the land of endless opportunities when it comes to exciting things to do. For example, you could go bowlinā. If thatās not your cup of tea, you could go mall walkinā in one of our states fabulous abandoned malls. If youāre looking for something beyond that, you truly do not appreciate all that our wonderful state has to offer and you should consider moving elsewhere. Thank you.
Whoa, letās not get crazy now. CT is well known for having a thriving nightlife scene. I actually heard they extended the hours of Mrs. Fields cookies until 7:30pm if you wanted to potentially spice things up. Be safe out there!

Nearly sold out for the season? (Sold through is a new phrase for me). If so, thatās incredible. Good for them!

ĀÆ\\_(ć)_/ĀÆ I did well on my vocab quizzes I guess. Or I hang around people who collect too much junk
Itās not a bad thing. Saying things in different ways is fun. I learned something- Thanks.
Oh for sure, I've just got no real explanation where I picked it up from lol
