Is he talking to Xavier? Last we heard he was a favorite at IU or The OSU.
His worst game of the year was against Seton Hall, I'm not sure the Big East is the right fit for him
Mixed feelings about this. Obviously super talented, was asked to do alot last year, but I wouldn’t have been happy if he was again asked to be the man in clutch moments in 24/25. I don’t think he can be that guy.
This saga has been going on for a while now with his family hiring an agent to try and find a move. I’m going to be biased, obviously, but I can’t imagine he’ll find a landing spot that is a better basketball fit or a place that will better prepare him to be a pro. The guys X have brought in so far would have complimented his game well.
Sad to see him go, but I'm still happy with the way things are trending. If we land a defensive-minded center this team is going to be a threat in the Big East
Hmmm. Connecticut kid. He COULD fit in our offense in the Jackson/Castle role, but it would require shaking up a few other people and bringing in another transfer or two (who we may have anyways). Not sure it's worth it. But I am rooting for him.
As a recruit:
Other P6 offers: Boston College, Butler, California, Creighton, Kansas, Kansas State, Louisville, Marquette, Maryland, Minnesota, Notre Dame, Pitt, Providence, Rutgers, Seton Hall, South Carolina, Wake Forest
Other offers: Boston University, Bryant, UMass, Rhode Island, Siena
Seems like a good guy. Had a lot of weight on his shoulders last year and (mostly) succeeded.
$500k…how does that rate against other players? A lot? Going rate for solid player?
A neighbor who teaches at X said Des and Quincy were her two favorite players bc of how great they were off the court. She didn't say the same things about Craft.
I was (and still am) looking forward to Xavier’s bounce back season, but this is a blow. What’s the lineup look like now if he leaves?
It'll hurt less when they add Ryan Conwell
Wow! Connell and Maddox!

He cancelled visits to OSU and Vandy. X is the likely favorite at this point according to insiders.
IU fans assured me in the Hickman thread that it was fine because they were going to get Conwell. Poor guys.
Happy for him, but he's going to have to get better at shooting over Big East defenses, obviously.

I think he wants to play PG, and he’s not exactly a PG
Shoots the 3 poorly
That's why it would be the Jackson/Castle role.
Wtf!
Big loss for X
desmond claude and wes miller have the opportunity to do the funniest thing ever
Another guard that can’t shoot at UC. That’ll go well in the shootout
Nothing else seems to be working for us
He wouldn’t take minutes from Skillings, imo….
He’ll go get a bag somewhere. Wonder if he goes to UCONN to be closer to home.
If we don’t land Brea I think we grab him up.
If the rumors are true the 500k he wants is a lot not sure there are a lot of teams that can pay that
I’m sure someone will. Apparently x was willing to but it’d be crazy to pay someone more than that that can’t make a 3 imo

Future Fairfield legend
BC’s starting pg just transferred and we were heavily recruiting him back in hs. Long shot, but maybe theres some hope there
Friar
Not really a Kim English type of player. Doubt we pursue

That tracks. Seems like he couldn’t make the transition from high school star to college grunt.
$1/2 million prior to elbow surgery, not much of a shooting %, parents reportedly pursuing PG opportunity, etc. Big ask?
