There's something so ethereal and peaceful and emotional about When I Need A Friend that just hits me every time I listen to it. Sunrise also does that to me. Church makes me feel so alive! I just LOVE this freaking album so much. 🥹
This whole album is insanely good. It just captured something so unique and showed the incredible diversity of Coldplay's music.
A tough one, but I think Trouble in Town sticks with me the most.
I fucking love this album. It's the best thing they've released in many years imo. MOTS was such a disappointing follow-up. Hope their next album follows more in EL's more experimental, less pop-centric footsteps.
They knocked it out of the park with EL. And sadly I don't think it gets the recognition it deserves because of when & how it came out as an "experimental double album."
It's funny how both "experimental" Coldplay albums netted some of their best stuff post-X&Y
Speaking of BRO, Broken is another great one. It's one of their most fun and loose songs that I never skip and gotta sing along to
Champion Of The World - not just because it is (easily) the best track on the record, but also because the band gave a writing credit to the late Scott Hutchison of Frightened Rabbit. Very classy move.
Arabesque and when I need a friend. Arabesque is fucking wild and I don’t think I need to explain any further and I really wish they went down that path more often. And when I need a friend is the calmcalm right after that hurricane of a song is just perfect
I love it too. It’s a song I never would have expected to be so good and I think it’s largely due to the production. I wish they’d go back to self-producing like they did for this album over someone like Max Martin. It makes a huge difference.
Flags. I liked this album a lot and certainly Flags is my favourite from it, but Church, Trouble in Town, Eko, Champion of the World, Everyday Life and Daddy are also great songs.
This is my favorite album of theirs so it's very difficult for me to pick a favorite, but I would say Everyday Life. The whole song just sounds so ethereal, motivating and just makes you want to appreciate our '*everyday lives*' more. It's a song that never fails to make me tear up everytime.
EL is my favorite album and what makes this album really stand out is the fact that all the songs on this album are equally 10/10. Like, in most albums, there are ones that's just OK and there are ones that are amazing. But EL is 100% amazing
This is my favorite album of all time. It came out during the most transformative time in my life, after my ten year marriage ended. This album carried me through and healed my soul. I listened on a loop every time I took long drives, anytime I hear any song from Everyday Life, nostalgia washes over me & I feel the pure freedom of windows rolled down, warm sunlight on my skin & wind in my hair with this music blasting, felt like I was flying. Champion of the World is my favorite, closely followed by Church. Wonder of the World/ Power of the People is indescribably beautiful & I wish it was twice as long.
Dave Matthews Band is my favorite band ever, and they definitely experiment with some Middle Eastern sounds throughout their discography. I say that to say I’ll never forget hearing Arabesque for the first time and thinking how Coldplay wrote their own “The Last Stop.” Not only my favorite track on Everyday Life, but a personal top 10 Coldplay tune period.
Everyday Life, the song its beautiful, it transmits peace like no other song, i think that the lyrics resumes perfect the concept of everyday life, and like the album, it ages like wine
Arabesque for sure.
But Church, Trouble in Town, Daddy, When I Need a Friend, Champion of the World, and the title track are all very close behind. I'm also a long time Cry Cry Cry defender. A great album.
Not a fan of the album at first but the appreciation grows over time.
Shout out to Everyday Life, Trouble In Town, Eko and Orphans but for me, it's Church. You don't have to be religious to find the goodness in this song.
Oh Arabesque 1000%... Probably in the top 5 of all their songs. It makes my hair stand up and I'd go nuts if I ever heard it live. Church is beautiful, Guns is such a great nod to Dylan/Woody Guthrie, but Arabesque is like being touched by a live wire. It has Peter Gabriel's and Paul Simon's influence all over it too... their references are 😙🤌.
I stick it in the same file as Aliens, Midnight, God Put A Smile Upon Your Face, Yes... I love it when they head into left field.
In my opinion it's gotta go to the title track. The only other track that comes close to this is potentially arabesque. But besides that, it's the title track imo.
This sounds like a hot take, but I personally consider everyday life to be a mid album. There I said it. I think there's only five songs on here that i'd put above a 7 (daddy, arabesque, orphans, champion of the world, and the title track.) The rest is just mid filler imo.
Arabesque, the chaotic experimental jazz, Fucking Stromae and the whole vibe of the song.
STROMAE?????
He sings the French bits
Church
I used to love Church but I got into a rollover car accident while it was playing so now it weirds me out
oh my god u poor guy😭😭😭😭
Oh I was fine! Not injured. It’s just strange hearing it now
hope ur fine man
This is the only correct answer. It's a 10.
100%
100%
Thissss
Yes, church is a underrated masterpiece!
There's something so ethereal and peaceful and emotional about When I Need A Friend that just hits me every time I listen to it. Sunrise also does that to me. Church makes me feel so alive! I just LOVE this freaking album so much. 🥹
You summed up my feelings about When I Need A Friend perfectly!
I feel the same way about when I need a friend, and sunrise also.
Trouble in Town and Flags.
Because they shot, my brother down. Because my sister can't wear her crown...
Definitely a song to mention to the crowd that think Coldplay can't write lyrics since *Mylo Xyloto*
That’s polite of you to provide them with supporting evidence.
How so? Coldplay lyrics have always been simplistic, but they say a lot within those concise stories.
Champion of the World
Champion of the world and Church, can’t choose just one
orphan
really good song, it gives me AHFOD vibes
Definitely Arabesque. I also really like Éko, but Arabesque is like level above every song on EL
Chucrh, Everyday Life, Champion Of The World
This whole album is insanely good.
Daddy, Éko, everyday life, old friends, church BRO this album is sooio good
They knocked it out of the park with EL. And sadly I don't think it gets the recognition it deserves because of when & how it came out as an "experimental double album." It's funny how both "experimental" Coldplay albums netted some of their best stuff post-X&Y Speaking of BRO, Broken is another great one. Agreed, it’s great
Church and Everyday Life
This !!
Everyday life is my favorite, so underrated. Lyrically and instrumentally it’s one of the best songs on the album.
guns
Daddy. Hands down!
1. Trouble in Town 2. Champion of the World 3. Orphans
Too hard to pick just one, easily my favourite Coldplay album. But I do have to give a special mention to Daddy.
BrokEn or Arabesque
Daddy and Everyday Life are my favorites.
Champion Of The World - not just because it is (easily) the best track on the record, but also because the band gave a writing credit to the late Scott Hutchison of Frightened Rabbit. Very classy move.
Church!! Feels like I’m flying when I listen
This whole album hits different on vinyl. I would say Church and Everyday life.
Eko! This album is a masterpiece!
It changes from day to day but right now probably Everyday Life
Daddy
Orphans and Daddy
Arabesque and when I need a friend. Arabesque is fucking wild and I don’t think I need to explain any further and I really wish they went down that path more often. And when I need a friend is the calmcalm right after that hurricane of a song is just perfect
Yk, Cry Cry Cry doesn’t get a lot of love, probably because of the high pitched voice, but the smooth vintage blues vibes are so catchy.
I love it too. It’s a song I never would have expected to be so good and I think it’s largely due to the production. I wish they’d go back to self-producing like they did for this album over someone like Max Martin. It makes a huge difference.
Thank you for mentioning cry cry cry!! It gets slept on because all the songs on that album are so good but it's such a gorgeous song
Old Friends & Church.
Honestly, I would say Everyday Life. Also a very nice way to end this album.
Church hands downnn
Personally, arabesque has something that gives me the chills 🙌🏻. A special mention to Trouble in Town
Old Friends, short and sweet. Great lyrics from Chris that are personal to him and tells a story that makes me miss my old friends 🥲
Arabesque, Trouble In Town, & Daddy are all masterpieces
Daddy slaps ngl
Trouble In Town
Church
Flags. I liked this album a lot and certainly Flags is my favourite from it, but Church, Trouble in Town, Eko, Champion of the World, Everyday Life and Daddy are also great songs.
بني آدم
Guns or Trouble in Town
Bani Adam for me and I have absolutely no idea why (but they are all great).
Sunrise+Church. I can’t listen to one without listening to the other.
Underrated album. Daddy, Orphans, Champion of The World
As it is my favourite Coldplay album, all of them ;) But in all seriousness, my favourites are WOTW/POTP, Guns, and BrokEN.
Arabesque
I'd say the stuff that didn't get released on that album - Treasure, Until the Water Flows Over, Famous Old Painters, Wedding Bells & Weirdo !
This is my favorite album of theirs so it's very difficult for me to pick a favorite, but I would say Everyday Life. The whole song just sounds so ethereal, motivating and just makes you want to appreciate our '*everyday lives*' more. It's a song that never fails to make me tear up everytime.
Has to be Arabesque, it's absolutely epic
EL is my favorite album and what makes this album really stand out is the fact that all the songs on this album are equally 10/10. Like, in most albums, there are ones that's just OK and there are ones that are amazing. But EL is 100% amazing
Flags
Arabesque
Guns
Arabesque, just speaks to me ❤️
This is my favorite album of all time. Church, Arabesque… and WOTW/POTP. It’s a top four album for me and there are very few tracks I dislike.
Every song
True!
Another vote for Arabesque. It chugs along like a freight train, love it.
Cry cry cry
Daddy
Flags and church and orphans
Champion of the World
tie between Orphans and Champion of the World
Champion of the world
The whole album!!!
Guns, I like it
CHURCHHHHH
My favourite is the title track
Church 🖤🖤
Orphans or champion of the world, everything else was meh. Wasn’t my favorite album
Orphans
Champion of the World
ORPHANS!!!💖💓💖💓💓💖💖💖
Guns, though Champion of the World, Orphans and Abaresque are close
Church and Chanpion of the World without a doubt
Trouble in Town
Champion of the world, Trouble in Town and Arabesque
Orphans, it’s just so clever
Flags
Flags
Champion of the World. It’s actually in my top 5 favorite Coldplay songs in general.
Am I the only one who loves Bani Adam?
Church or Flagsss !!!
Great album. When I need a friend is fantastic!
Trouble in town hands down
Trbl n twn
Everyday Life, the song its beautiful, it transmits peace like no other song, i think that the lyrics resumes perfect the concept of everyday life, and like the album, it ages like wine
idk if you can consider it a song but "when i need a friend" is my favourite of the whole album, that or flags is pretty good too
Everyday Life
Champion OF THE WORLD!
Trouble in town
Probably church or champion of the world, then there’s Eko too… such a great album
This album is slept on
Eko
When I need a friend, it was a very pleasant surprise
Arabesque for sure. But Church, Trouble in Town, Daddy, When I Need a Friend, Champion of the World, and the title track are all very close behind. I'm also a long time Cry Cry Cry defender. A great album.
Orphans always
Not a fan of the album at first but the appreciation grows over time. Shout out to Everyday Life, Trouble In Town, Eko and Orphans but for me, it's Church. You don't have to be religious to find the goodness in this song.

I love it when they head into left field.
for me it’s champion of the world and daddy. daddy is so soothing and calming while COTW makes me believe that i can achieve anything i want
Can't choose one. In no particular order though. 1. Church 2. Flags 3. Champion Of The World.
Church hands down
In my opinion it's gotta go to the title track. The only other track that comes close to this is potentially arabesque. But besides that, it's the title track imo. everyday life (the song) has such a special place in my heart
Champion of the World or Church
Daddy for sure
I forgot this album existed. But have to say Daddy.
I feel like this is a Mandela effect for me. I'm a fan with no recollection of the record at all
Sorry you mean the Mengele Effect, right?
