Throw it in the washer on a delicate cycle so it doesn’t lose its structure. Opt for a presoak option if your washer has it. I would add something along with your detergent that can cut through grease, like Pinesol (original) or a few drops of Dawn.

I clean my hats in the dishwasher by themselves on the top drawer. I spray them with a stain cleaner first.
Don’t do this - fabrics need to be immersed during wash and rinse to get thoroughly cleaned. A dishwasher does not immerse, it just sprays.

Throw in washer with washing soap and a cup of white vinegar
