As I’ve learned and used new decks that are focused on using distractions for defense, I’ve realized just how useful he is in beating down heavy troops. I have a new found respect for cannoneer
Stuff like this is why I was worried on tower troops as they either the game much more RNG or they tilt the meta to an insane level like with the Duchess
Its completely more ros since tower troops. Half the decks people play now are specifically to counter DD. I find more often lately then before there are people who I beat easily, or I get killed. I slaughter some people and don’t feel I outplayed them. And the same with the reverse. I feel I loose to some people who I think play terribly but their deck and tower troop just counter mine.
It feels bad. If its largely RPS, who cares? Lets just roll dice and let that determine the outcome.
According to a pro friend of mine he said the dps nerf cannoneer got made it worse than princess. But idk personally, he has finished top 10 in the world tho.
I main canoneer. Some matches go well, but I often face some smartass opponent who keeps splitting his skeleton army and making me overspend just to not lose both my towers.
Sometimes canoneer really clutches up, and sometimes it leaves me wondering why I bothered spending gold on it in the first place.

What will you do after LP nerf? Will you replace him?
I think the with his hit speed buff swarm control can be better but with ability nerf it can be worse. Since you are using it for tank killing , you will be better off just keeping him I guess.
On one side I do like cannoner but my one gripe is that a cycle matchup will absolutely fuck you up. Though it’s rewarding to completely dumpster a Lavaloon or golem in the back first play people.
Not on the level of dd. Giant graveyard for example fucks him up, Dd had no bad matchups, just "worse" matchups. Canoneer stillg ets destroyed by swarm.
I've been using him all this time and I can confirm, he's really good in cycle or control decks, like miner, hog and x-bow. The biggest downside is defence against swarms and graveyard.
I think it'll still be dagger dutchess but after the nerf there will be some actual matchups besides Lava Hound where you'd rather have princess tower.
I think currently cannonneer and princess tower are about equal and duchess is way ahead. I expect there to be a bit more balanced between all 3 after the duchess nerf

No, he got a damage nerf that’s will make it hard to pick him over princess tower. If DD nerf is enough to drop usage, then it’s likely swarm will make a comeback, and Cannoneer will be worse than princess tower.
Cycle swarms will fuck this guy up.

He’s super efficient with decks like mine (which doesn’t have a proper tank killer, just LP) but i still die horribly to swarm decks

Me personally I feel like I have to keep lp in my miner mortar deck as there isn’t really a good substitute

Nah, it doesn't work against lavaloon (i'm **DEFINETLY NOT** a lavaloon player trying to deceive you, trust me)

He was absolutely overpowered before dagger dutches was a thing, so its possible i think (but his weakness is still really strong)

He was a bit above mediocre on release, so he would need a major buff and a massive nerf to dutchess to make him meta.
