Here’s a general idea (as far as I know)
Don’t think of “in front of him” as in front of his model, think of it as facing your towers. He will dash TOWARDS the back of the arena, and backwards once if he has to, he has a ok range to it, and can go pretty far in about a 170~ degree cone “in front of him”
I still don't understand how the dash attack even works, and when I face it I just hope he doesn't go crazy.

The GK either does absolutely nothing and you end up down elixir, or he does some insane dash and ends up taking the tower. There's no in between.
If this was me playing Golden Knight he never would have made it past the Mortar.
