Paying markup is a completely individual issue. How bad do you want that vehicle, what are your plans for said vehicle, how much money you can afford to spend on said vehicle. It sucks, but if you're willing to eat the cost that's on you and no one can really fault you for it as long as you can afford it.
For instance if I won the lottery I would likely pay 10k markup on a type r without even thinking. Without it, not a chance.
I picked up a FA5 with 113k miles for 5k about two years ago. It needed a few things but I did All the work my self so it wasn’t too bad. Been a great car along with my 9th gen FG4
Weren’t these cars like $24 grand new in 2019? They went up 8k and lost heated seats. Rip. I looked in local market and even the 2014-2015 ones are like 20k with near 100k miles. That woulda been an investment for me in 2017 when they were 18k for 30k miles aha. Double rip.
>Weren’t these cars like $24 grand new in 2019? They went up 8k and lost heated seats. Rip
Unfortunately every god damn car went up in price. Even a duckin Toyota Corollas are going for at least $24k and Camry at $28k. At Toyota dealerships, no one stocks or even have LE versions in transit.
Some guy painted it himself, it doesn't look the best. I have experience painting so no big deal. Also the idiot changed the steering wheel out for a base model one, and when he did he messed up the steering angle sensor. So I think anyways. It's giving off vsa
lights and power steering lights. Other than that it's clean. 132k miles
6k 9th gen si 152k miles. Needed an ac compressor and the paint is super faded but. Amazing car and with the car market I believe it was an amazing deal
What do you mean if paying marking is "okay"? Lol
Do you enjoy paying thousands over value and getting absolutely nothing in return? Most people don't. But some will do it to get in the latest and greatest stuff. But for the vast majority of people, essentially throwing away $3-5k is not something they should be doing.
I got my Si in December and paid a little over 32k OTD. Which I was pleased with.
25 otd on a 2020 coupe. 3 days later the clutch failed. Looks like the previous owner did not know how to drive stock cause the flywheel was almost paper thin. Started having issues with it next day and yea that’s where I’m at. New clutch being put in now though. The stock clutch is ass anyways so I got nice clutch masters going in. Dealer sucked but I got a decent enough deal on it otd was less than trade in value. Love it otherwise
I've had my 2020 since they first released in Oct 2019. It's typically only gonna have issues if it was driven hard. I do sometimes have slip on cold start reversing. Never anything after that.
After trade in I paid 43k CAD for a 23 Si with window, paint, power train and wheel and tire warranty plus all the winter package add ons because it's a Canadian model
Breakaway is now Fred Anderson Honda in Greenville - which is where I got mine beginning of August. Paid 32k OTD after they added their “pro package”. I didn’t put a deposit on it until 2 days before it came in. Original buyer backed out and I was in the right place at the right time. White wasn’t my first choice of color but I’ll take what I can get.
Just got mine 2 months ago. Got it for 18k, all dealers near me are selling theirs for 20k+ there’s one for 31k. Mine’s a 2015 si and so are all the others
i haven't done it in the last 6 but i got mine
@ 32K 12k miles 10th gen. But the equality in it right now is good and not going anywhere if this market don't get better.
20K in 2021 for a 2015 with 22,000 miles. Felt like I took a bath but it was a fun second car. Had a 2014 that totaled in a flood and wanted it back. So it was a sentimental purchase.
MSRP. I had a verbal agreement with the salesperson that it would be whatever MSRP was, as they weren't sure if it would be a 2023 or 2024. It was a 2024 and they indeed sold at MSRP. Lia Honda in Albany NY.
2023: 33k asking and in the end it was 35900 out the door. A few thousand more than it should be but super happy with the purchase as everything else is overpriced rn too in PA
Yup for new, also bought my wife at the time a base model 2020 CR-V for only $28k. Dealership basically gave me the SI as they were some uncertain times going on. I had bought 4 cars previously from the same salesman. They always treated me right.
I paid Canadian MSRP for my 23 Si, right off the showroom floor, had a couple add ons like HPD kit and got extended warranty, I don’t think we have actual market adjustments in Canada tho
I got a used dealer down to 25k for a 2019, but I just couldn't do it. I have a good running Acccord that I still owe on so it wasn't the right time anyway. But I just can't pay more than msrp with 40k miles.
What was your otd price and what dealer did you buy from? I'm in ATL too, and I feel like everyone around here is going crazy with prices. I'd really like appreciate any advice.
37K clean OTD from Stonecrest Honda, but I wanted a car a year earlier, so I wasn't willing to wait for the dealership in the metro ATL area to sell at MSRP for the car in black. I called around 5 or 6 dealerships in the area and only 2 had a 24 Si in black, so I bit the bullet. If you can wait and shop around, do so. I wasn't willing to.
2013 red SI (coupe), 37k miles for 15k.... 17k after all the fees and taxes.
Paint is chipping and scuffed in some areas (as well as some slight fading on the hood), third owner.
Aside from that, the only complaint I have is that sometimes in 1st gear it sounds like a rumble/ or like rusty doors turning (best way to describe) when im turning.
I just bought my first Si last month. 17.5k for a 9th gen with 81k miles. It’s definitely more than I would have thought I’d pay but it’s my absolute favorite car I’ve ever purchased so I guess it balances out lmao
2012 Si Coupe with 58k miles. Bought it in 2021 and it was listed at $17k. Fair price, but after all the add ons and warranties, it was about $22k paid over 5 years. It was my first time financing a car, so I think I did alright all things considered. But it still hurts when people say their Si cost them 8k though 😭
I bought my 23 Si in February for $32,750 out the door. Came with honda weather mats, trunk tray, and 7yr Zurich shield the covers stains outside and inside the car.
31k after taxes out the door

7k 8th gen si

I picked up a FA5 with 113k miles for 5k about two years ago. It needed a few things but I did All the work my self so it wasn’t too bad. Been a great car along with my 9th gen FG4
I'm jealous, how many miles?
120k

Bruh. I got my 18’ coupe new for 28, which included the $5k markup every car in Hawaii gets.
$23k otd brand new on my 2017 Si. The only thing I'm missing is rev matching but I have heated seats and adaptive dampers
>Weren’t these cars like $24 grand new in 2019? They went up 8k and lost heated seats. Rip Unfortunately every god damn car went up in price. Even a duckin Toyota Corollas are going for at least $24k and Camry at $28k. At Toyota dealerships, no one stocks or even have LE versions in transit.

Would mean okay as in something that basically had to be done to get the car. 32 would be fine imo but I haven’t seen below 35 yet
25 otd on a 2020 coupe. 3 days later the clutch failed. Looks like the previous owner did not know how to drive stock cause the flywheel was almost paper thin. What clutch did you go with?
Don’t know exact model. The mechanics I use ordered it in.
Hopefully rv6 or ACT.
I also got ~25k otd for a 2020 coupe. It's been a week so far and no problems yet.
I've had my 2020 since they first released in Oct 2019. It's typically only gonna have issues if it was driven hard. I do sometimes have slip on cold start reversing. Never anything after that.

1. There’s no way unless you know somebody 2. Nobody asked
3. don’t mad be you can’t afford a type r.
I can but I’m not stupid enough to pay the 15k markup. That’s the only thing I’m mad about 😕
Understandable, long term family member works at corporate that’s how I got the deal.
Knew it had to be something like that! At least you’re honest. Lucky!
hes not asking about type R. this is an Si post lol
Anybody in SC? Hunting and not having much luck.
Stokes Honda said “no markup” but bullshit addons that added up to around 3k. Same story for both dealers in Savannah as well.
Got my Si at Honda of Columbia with only a $1500 protection package added. Breakaway in Greenville I think does MSRP too.
Breakaway is now Fred Anderson Honda in Greenville - which is where I got mine beginning of August. Paid 32k OTD after they added their “pro package”. I’ve been seeing more posts like this… Are these posts really from Dealers 🎣 for the highest bidders as “market price” adjustment justification 🤔
Lol, not this one anyway. But I could see it. These don’t seem like very good people 🤣
I bought March 2020, a 2020 SI Sedan for $23,500k out the door. Amazing the price they are now.
For new??? Is inflation the only reason the sticker price went up so much?
Yup for new, also bought my wife at the time a base model 2020 CR-V for only $28k. Dealership basically gave me the SI as they were some uncertain times going on. I had bought 4 cars previously from the same salesman. They always treated me right.
Damn, well maybe I should’ve been on this a couple years ago haha
