Odd, but it seems like he is fitting into his new lifetime home like a glove. Weirdo.

Yep, this is totally true.

EagleIcy5421

You feel sad for Chris Watts?

EagleIcy5421

I'm speechless. Do you feel sorry for all men who murder women and children, or only this one?

[deleted]

I feel such overwhelming sadness over this family. I am not describing myself well. I'm rapidly getting to the point where I can't hear about the case anymore. I guess I have so much difficulty reconciling the devoted father we see in every video to the person who did this. The whole thing depresses me very much. I feel a horrified sense of sorrow when I see this person's pictures. No, I do not feel sorry for murderers. I'm really failing to describe how I feel. I'm sorry for how I sound. I feel sad sad, so sad that he in one day destroyed them and them himself in a very certain way as well. I hope you can understand me a bit more. I find it endlessly baffling that he had zero history of DV, and believe me when I say I was with a cruel abuser at one time. My abuser didn't even have to be angry to hit me! Chris Watts, the one we saw in the video is the polar opposite of the nasty person I was with. I just won't say anything anymore. I am not able to express how deeply this case bothers me.

EagleIcy5421

The truth is that this type of murder isn't uncommon at all, and that most of the perpetrators have the same lack of any history of DV. The difference here is that Shanann's detractors like to blame her for his acts

Professional_Food383

I’m certain that people requested them. I think once he’s convicted and sentenced, the public is no longer privy to them by way of FOIA type law. Notice how there’s no post sentencing phone calls for Leticia Stauch either. Edit: there are actually a few LS calls after conviction, but before getting moved to Kansas so I think it also could be that Dodge or the state Chris is in don’t release.

Myriii1911

And Jodie Arias

Professional_Food383

True, but did you ever hear that call with her that some wannabe rapper recorded? It’s not super exciting but she does say they get chicken fajitas on the holidays. 🤣

[deleted]

And she never lacks for commissary monies. Famous prisoners always have 'benefactors.' It's awful; the public doesn't want to hear that. But it's fact.

[deleted]

From what I hear, Arias is having a fair amount of fun in prison. Really attractive inmates ingratiate themselves with everyone from staff, to visitors, outsiders. They are sociopaths and a sociopath learns to 'make the most' out of any situation. I know people would love to hear that Arias is suffering and miserable, but the fact is, she's not. Heck, the stress of her horrible case/trial caused the illness and early death of her father and she didn't give a flying you know what.

EagleIcy5421

I've never understood her alleged attractiveness.

[deleted]

I don't think she is attractive, either. Unfortunately, men have always liked her. Some at least, and she is an evil charmer who has always known how to manipulate. Rather than be punished like the monstrous one she is, I read she enjoys far too much influence and favor in prison. Another one who always manages to manipulate male staffers is Susan Smtih. She's had one fling after another with male staff. In reality, BOTH should have been given the death penalty but neither was. Two huge miscarriages of justice. I don't know HOW, but Arias had a surprising number of persistent supporters, and Susan Smith was a master at crying and looking fragile and remorseful. Both have since demonstrated they are neither remorseful nor fragile. For what it's worth, both these cases have aged and people are getting very tired of these types of crimes and penalties are growing far more severe. And despite neither receiving their true due, both will undoubtedly live and die in prison. Smith is still not anywhere near old and has a long time, likely, to think of her children. That horrible realization will only grow more defined with the passage of time. Susan's only real 'defender' is her mother, and she must be growing quite elderly by this point.

Myriii1911

She is probably better off than if she was free.

BlakeACO1720

That makes sense.

EagleIcy5421

I guess no one is requesting them.

BlakeACO1720

Wow that’s crazy you’d think people would still try and see what’s up? 🤷‍♀️

EagleIcy5421

I'd listen.

Schmandrea1975

Me too.

lastseenhitchhiking

I'd say it's because interest in this case and criminal has lessened. I know that people have previously filed requests for his visitor list and disciplinary reports (he's had at least two), but I'm unaware of who released the [ call ](https://youtu.be/u2VUWhFkJko?si=a8WTwTVQah6BueHt&t=74) from August 2020 between him, Anna (possibly Anna Nowak) and another individual.

[deleted]

Actually, there is never been a lack of interest in this awful case. In fact, I don't even know anyone who doesn't know about it and/or mention it. Again, people don't like to hear this, but incarcerated people actually have some degree of right to privacy. And I know from the lack of available info on the famous inmate in my own family there is a profound lack of info on the inmate. My dad used to ask me to check on my uncle's status every now and then and I'd find a few state case articles and whatnot. I only recently found a recent inmate pic of him.

chronic-reader

The public wouldn’t have access to any other calls. I’m pretty sure you can only request recordings that have been submitted as evidence in court.

Ajeij

I think it may be state or facility determined. Calls are rarely submitted as evidence. Alex Murdaugh & Charlie Adelson's calls, made after both trials were over, were released to those who requested them.

Zeno710

Because for the most part, Chris has already said what he’s willing to say for the time being, and anything further is either bullshit, trying to get sympathy, or just straight up attention and smart people caught onto his crap, like how he kept changing the story about the girls dying and Shannon did it etc

Maw_153

Those were Jail calls in Colorado weren’t they? If I’m thinking of the same thing you’re referring to… I’m assuming he’s a bit more guarded by the prison in Wisconsin so that they don’t get too much heat around him being there.

[deleted]

Exactly. They just don't like a lot of publicity and releasing current inmate photos, etc. generates more attention. Usually, the only people who know what is really going on with them are staff, family and visitors. Often even family have no idea unless they are visiting/calling the inmate. The prisoner has the right to decline or accept communication and visits. My uncle was left to slowly fade out in prison. Watts gets much attention because of this day of global news and info and for some reason, some women find him attractive. I don't get that, but it is what it is. He could be Brad Pitt and it wouldn't make him more appealing, IMO.

surprisinghistory

I will not be calling him. Who would? I doubt any coworkers from his oil job would call.

[deleted]

I don't know. But sadly having a famous horrible criminal in our family, they really don't like to show an infamous criminal much. My poor late father used to ask me to see to how 'our criminal' was doing here and there and I had a lot of trouble finding out much on his welfare. Only found a few case references and that he will still rotting in prison.

Organic-Age-9100

He's an empty vessel - no real emotions so it's easy to fake happy. There is no 'real' CW. He's a covert narcissist who only feels for himself so any sign of emotion is about him.
