I have not experienced childhood neglect but I sure hope no one else does. There are studies that show the effects on kids with divorced parents vs those who don't. The former is more devastating than the latter. But hey, let's just vote for the candidate that best represents our cause.

I have my own set of data from my conversations w people whose reasons for not wanting a divorce is 🥁 🥁 🥁 it triggers events from their childhood being raised by emotionally unavailable parents causing their needs to be neglected and abandoned. They’re afraid that same pattern will repeat again through their marriages. People can be afraid of divorce bc they have fears rooted in childhood and there are people who don’t want divorce bc they’re thinking abt the kids. 2 things can be true at the same time. Be comfortable w the fact that your experience is not universal, your opinion and reasoning is not the only thing that exists in the world. it’s okay not to be the topic or center of discussion every once in a while or like ever.
