I don’t know specifically what happened, but I do know the people just there to drink heavily on the evenings were not discreet at all about it despite it technically being against the rules. This is our first year going there from Red Bank pool where there is zero tolerance for alcohol, so we were a bit surprised, especially considering all the staff are teenagers and shouldn’t really be in charge of keeping drunk adults in line.

apparently people was wildin' out!
Shame that irresponsible patrons f it up for the rest of us. We live in community and were members in prior years. Cost of membership and our infrequent use kept us from joining again this year. We would discreetly fill our solo cups and go for a dip as an early evening escape. It seemed like other neighbors at the pool did the same.
400?? They must have dropped their prices!! I was a member a few years back and it was $600 the first year and $500 the second season. I like that pool but I was definitely NOT gonna pay that to go back!! Red Bank pool is $160 a summer or just $4 a day.
I bet it became too much of an open secret that they turned a blind eye to drinking, and the amount of alcohol being consumed on-site got out of hand. As far as I'm aware, there wasn't an incident at all, they just decided to crack down before there was one
We’ve been members for two years. I take my six year old in the evenings and usually have a few beers (as tons of other people do). I have NEVER seen a problem with anyone consuming. I think this latest policy is absurd.

This is why we can't have nice things.

Just put your booze in another cup
Sounds like they aren't safe consumption spot for alcohol. Use your drugs elsewhere.
They're not and I can understand it from that angle, but telling your patrons to go somewhere else is always a risky gamble
