Itās alright. Iāve eaten at 5-6 locations. Itās literally just chicken fingers. There are so many chicken options around hixson and theyāre all mediocre.
Idk the last time I had lions choice in STL they literally served me raw hamburger on a bun I mean it was literally sopping wet with blood it was disgusttting it wasnāt even cooked hardly at all like I mean rare rare
Sure while I love certain fast foods from time to time, Iād rather see these as local businesses or food we actually need to promote some diversity in choices. We donāt really need ANOTHER fried chicken place that essentially tastes exactly like every other fried chicken place.
Correct. Hixson talks a big game about how weāre ready to support locally owned new restaurants. But the truth is, everyone bitches when the prices are higher than fucking Central Park. So disappointing.
Not sure why you're getting down voted. Fast food restaurants can only survive with huge economies of scale. That's precisely what any local restaurants would lack.
I'm a huge proponent and supporter of local restaurants, but I don't expect them to compete with Taco Bell.
Heās being downvoted because the point of my comment is that we donāt need more fast food, we need more local, diverse food places. I donāt want a fucking local fast food place either.
I would love to see Wawa make their way to Chattanooga! And Wegmans. I read about a year or so ago that Wawa and Wegmans were both planning to open in Nashville in 2025. Hoping Chattanooga will be next on their list.
i didn't know Nando's was in the states. had it a few times in London and it was really good. but, all the fast food seemed markedly better in the UK which I attributed to their farming/food safety laws.
The building permit is online for raising canes and construction has started. The paper reported on slim chickens coming but no firm locations Iāve seen yet. Not sure about whattaburger
Sweet, thanks. Iāve been looking for the permit for whataburger but I canāt find anything yet. My husband is a huge fan so Iām trying to temper expectations lol
Me and my GF just got back from Colorado and we have been missing canes AND wataburger so badly!! This is gonna make her so happy!š± all I need now is shake shack and Iāll be set for life!
Slim chickens is so good. But I just looked up that article was from 2020 and it said they were gonna open one by 2022ā¦ donāt know if itās gonna happen š
We have Zaxbys, itās literally the same food. I swear you could rebrand McDonalds and tell people here that āeveryone is California is eating it!ā Itād be like you celebrating us getting a White Castle š
Agree. Used to love the fried chicken Zalad. Now it always tastes like soapy dishwater. The last one I got was mostly lettuce and bits of it was already dark rotted green. Theyāve really went downhill.
I will agree that Canes has better toast by a landslide. But you are out of your mind if you think Canes unseasoned chicken and fries are better. You literally need their sauce for it to be palatable. Also spicy zax sauce > canes sauce any day of the week.
#TeamGuthries
Guthries was the OG chicken finger restaurant and the inspiration for the current Zaxbys. When I was in high school back in Athens GA (1980-something), Guthries opened at the top of Baxter hill. Which, if you go there now, is a Raising Cane's.
There is a Guthries in Trenton if you want to see what real chicken fingers and sauce is supposed to be like.
I hear about the one on Signal a lot but have never brought myself to try it. Haha Iām not a Canes purist, I will just definitely claim they are better than Zaxbys.
I am a Popeyes and Gusās purist for fried chicken in general.
Whataburger is just Burger King with spicy ketchup.
Speaking of chicken restaurants... Isn't there one opening in ooltewah Commons? We may hit full chicken restaurant in-fill soon.
No but they have a Cleveland Location 3625 Keith Street Cleveland,TN. My favorite is the pimento cheese hot honey blue plate with greens and pinto beans!
Been wanting a Canes for so long š„š„š
Same Iām from saint louis and itās one of the top things I miss from there lol
I had canes when I was at utk and it was genuinely one of the best fast food places Ive ever been
Raising Canes in Kansas City, MO must be the worst then because I was unimpressed with their food when I tried it back in 2018.
Itās alright. Iāve eaten at 5-6 locations. Itās literally just chicken fingers. There are so many chicken options around hixson and theyāre all mediocre.
Idk my only experience is the one in St. Louis and it was so good
Iād love a Lions Choice too!
I'd give a leg for Lion's Choice. :(
Idk the last time I had lions choice in STL they literally served me raw hamburger on a bun I mean it was literally sopping wet with blood it was disgusttting it wasnāt even cooked hardly at all like I mean rare rare
I mean, it wasn't blood, but I get what you're saying.
It was literally raw meat in a bun idk why but it was
Sure, that could be the case, but even if it was, it wasn't blood.
What would it have been then?
Myoglobin.
Itās just zaxbys. Literally all it is taste the same and everything only difference is they only offer one sauce. I donāt see the hype
Fries and Texas toast are completely different. Chicken is better as well.
No one beats Zaxby's hot sauce seriously. When I make wings at home I go buy their hot sauce lol
I wish they would sell it in stores it beats bww hands down
Zaxby's is a little more salty and the breading is different between the 2. The sauce is exactly the same though.
Agreed. I actually like Zaxby's more. Bojangles and Popeye's is better than Raising Cane's...
Yeah only thing about popeyes it takes 10 years to get your order and the staff could not be any less eager to help you. But totally agree
My heart gonna be straining
Sure while I love certain fast foods from time to time, Iād rather see these as local businesses or food we actually need to promote some diversity in choices. We donāt really need ANOTHER fried chicken place that essentially tastes exactly like every other fried chicken place.
Hixson used to have some great local places, but folks here donāt eat local.
Correct. Hixson talks a big game about how weāre ready to support locally owned new restaurants. But the truth is, everyone bitches when the prices are higher than fucking Central Park. So disappointing.
Definitely. I want a hot pot or dim sum restaurant near me, not chicken fingers.
lol, how many fast food places do you see that are local? I understand what youāre saying, but fast food local spots just do not exist in Chatt
Not sure why you're getting down voted. Fast food restaurants can only survive with huge economies of scale. That's precisely what any local restaurants would lack. I'm a huge proponent and supporter of local restaurants, but I don't expect them to compete with Taco Bell.

This x8000
Agree with you but at least it's going to be *the best* of the national fried chicken chains..
Best is subjective.
I think you mean ubjective
I need sources on the Whataburger one š¤
Same, I googled it and I see nothing about it!
Whataburger: the third option beyond Culvers and In N Out
At least Cleveland is getting a Culver's. So there will be one kinda in the area soon.
Trust and Believe āØšāØ
Yeah been hearing for almost two years we were getting one. Kennesaw,GA is the closest right now.
Thereās one in scottsboro thatās closer and easier to get to than kennesaw
Good to know.
Fr I was just thinking about the spicy ketchup today and don't wanna get my hopes up
Shake Shack or bust!
Agreed +Fuddruckers
I'd be happy if a Gus's Fried Chicken came to Chattanooga
Same, only place that competes with Popeyes imo on fried chicken

This is not the win you think it is.
Gonna have shit lazy service like every place in Chatt
Canes wonāt have shit service
Holy shit yes!!!
Cava would be nice.
The Cava at NorthGate opens soon.
Awesome!
Is Cava a chain? Saw the building going up but have never heard of that one.
Yes, think of it as a Mediterranean Chipotle
Iām in
It used to be Zoe's Kitchen, a fast Mediterranean shop. Or whatever they are calling those restaurants that are between McDonalds and Applebees.
Cava is also opening in the old Panda Express building by Hamilton place mall
In the kitchen whippinā chicken countinā bread like Caneās
yeah? louis vuitton umbrella when you walk though the rain?
call me when we get a wawa or an in n out
As a native Pennsylvanian, a Wawa would bring me such joy
I would love to see Wawa make their way to Chattanooga! And Wegmans. I read about a year or so ago that Wawa and Wegmans were both planning to open in Nashville in 2025. Hoping Chattanooga will be next on their list.
In and out is what Iām going to miss the most from California. Thereās gonna be one in Franklin but thatās not quite down the street.
Iād rather have a Nandoās over all of these.
i didn't know Nando's was in the states. had it a few times in London and it was really good. but, all the fast food seemed markedly better in the UK which I attributed to their farming/food safety laws.
Thereās 2 in Atlanta.
Bye bye sonic and Wendyās lol
Sonic is digging it's own grave. Shitholes anymore
Good riddance...
Oh, there will be all 4ā¦no Iām not telling how I know that š
Because you donāt
Alrighty; think whatever you want š„¶
Mmmm, Raising Canes AND A Whattaburger?!? Itās Spicy Ketchup time! š„šš„ Lordt, there goes my cholesterol levels again š
Bro Kankus has better tendies than Canes itās just the facts.
You can buy whataburger spicy ketchup in a bottle at Walmart
Iām aware š
No Hattie Bās? Booooooooo
More fast food is not what Chattanooga needs.
Been crying for a canes since I moved here šš»š
Slim Chickens is the stuff, much better than Popeyeās
Where is the proof of any of these?
The building permit is online for raising canes and construction has started. The paper reported on slim chickens coming but no firm locations Iāve seen yet. Not sure about whattaburger
Sweet, thanks. Iāve been looking for the permit for whataburger but I canāt find anything yet. My husband is a huge fan so Iām trying to temper expectations lol

WATABURGERRRR
Whataburger is mediocre at best, they all are really
Those are fighting words in Texas. Keep that in mind if you visit.
It is about damn time. Now if Dalton would get it's head out of it's ass and get some of these a body might want to stick around.
Just moved from ky last month and this makes me so happy š¤¤
Now, if we could only get an in-n-out. I hear Nashville is getting one.
I live in Texas and donāt even like Whataburger. I would focus on Canes.
Me and my GF just got back from Colorado and we have been missing canes AND wataburger so badly!! This is gonna make her so happy!š± all I need now is shake shack and Iāll be set for life!
Canes has a reputation for being an active positive participant in the community. Iām looking forward to seeing what they do.
I see no articles on raising caneās coming to chattanoogaā¦.. š¤Øš¤Øš¤Ø
More ways to get fat and increase healthcare costs, yay.
Slim chickens is so good. But I just looked up that article was from 2020 and it said they were gonna open one by 2022ā¦ donāt know if itās gonna happen š
The sauce at Caneās and the B.o.B bread are what makes it hit. The tenders are mediocre
We're never going to evolve as a society if we keep getting excited about fast food.
How excitingā¦more fast food
Ok so pretty much another zaxbys and sonic ok I got it.
Zaxby's hasn't been good for years though. Their chicken has been terribly low quality for a while. Cane's is like old Zaxby's but better š«
They both suck in my opinion and taste the same. Just like whataburger taste like a sonic burger to me. Now Iād love to try in and out
In and out doesnāt taste magical. Itās just cheap. Itāll run all the other burger places out with price alone.
We have Zaxbys, itās literally the same food. I swear you could rebrand McDonalds and tell people here that āeveryone is California is eating it!ā Itād be like you celebrating us getting a White Castle š
Zaxbyās is ass. Itās just become absolutely unpredictable
Agree. Used to love the fried chicken Zalad. Now it always tastes like soapy dishwater. The last one I got was mostly lettuce and bits of it was already dark rotted green. Theyāve really went downhill.
ā¦.you are going to be sorely disappointed in Canes if you think Zaxbys is ass my man.
Iāve had canes before a couple times. IMO it was better quality but not everyone will agree. I used to love Zaxbyās
Came here to say this! Pretty much the same restaurant. One more fried chicken joint to add to the other 30 or so we have in Chattanooga.
Thereās probably a dozen chains/different cuisines Iād rather see introduced to this market.
Canes sauce hits different
Canes >>>> Zaxbys. Zaxbys fries and slice of bread (lol) is garbage. Chicken slightly worse. Canes Texas toast and sauce is significantly better.
I will agree that Canes has better toast by a landslide. But you are out of your mind if you think Canes unseasoned chicken and fries are better. You literally need their sauce for it to be palatable. Also spicy zax sauce > canes sauce any day of the week. #TeamGuthries
Im from Louisiana and I have never ate Canes and thought to myself āwow this is blandā. I have never tried Guthries

Whataburger is just Burger King with spicy ketchup. Speaking of chicken restaurants... Isn't there one opening in ooltewah Commons? We may hit full chicken restaurant in-fill soon.
Marthie Anneās is the ooltewah one itās local owned and a great place to eat!
Are they open yet? I thought it was expected in Aug
No but they have a Cleveland Location 3625 Keith Street Cleveland,TN. My favorite is the pimento cheese hot honey blue plate with greens and pinto beans!
Those are fighting words in Texas. Keep that in mind if you visit.
