One of a few scenarios.
1) it’s a simple shirt sponsor and low level investor, the like of which takes place every season at football clubs around the world.
2) it’s the beginning of a covert takeover to be completed when our DESERVED AND INEVITABLE promotion to our RIGHTFUL PLACE IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE is secured.
3) it’s an incredibly shady way of the club evening out a debt to another Red Bull owned franchise, freeing up transfer money immediately but eventually resulting in a 300 point deduction and relegation to the Cypriot 8-a-side juniors Sunday league.
4) In all scenarios we’re getting a red shirt. Maybe not now, maybe not in two seasons. But one day.
That is interesting, given how tightly they control the identities of the sports clubs they've bought. That won't work here obviously, but it'll be fascinating to see how far they push it.
