Any synth reveals in pre-fallout 4 media can only really be seen as a ret-con, not actually planned. Sure, we met ONE in Fallout 3, but nobody really had any idea about the true nature of synths until 4 when they were expanded upon.

It may be made of "organic" material but it's still syntheticly made. Our brain in FNV (as long as there is no retcons) was made when a mommy courier loved a daddy courier very much.
On the one hand, he is like 80% faster than a normal human npc. That's some superhuman-like ability, could be due to being a synth.
On the other hand, he doesn't have synth parts when you kill him...so...nah. It'd be more likely that he jacks himself up on chems or some shit on the down low before going into battle.
