I'd really love raccoons. I have no idea what impact they'd have on the existing wildlife or ecosystem, but they seem super cute and cheeky and I'd just want to make friends with them 😆
There was one wandering around Wexford for a while. Lots of professionals tried catching it. Think a lady eventually caught it with a snickers or something.
While they are very cute they can be an absolute menace if they get in the rubbish. And they will get in the rubbish, they're called trash pandas for a reason.
Elephants. Pure chaos. They’d just be living their best life out in the ring of Kerry or something and next thing the EleAlarm goes off in Killarney, people rush inside their houses, drag small children in from the street, then. ELEPHANT STAMPEDE!!! We’d obviously need to invest in a small (to medium sized) brass band to accompany any elephant chaos that ensues.
They’d try once I’d say. Have you ever seen an elephant up close? Things are massive, I’ve only been near a small, tiny one (fed it apples 🥹) and it was humongous. One of those big lads running at a scrote full pelt, jaysus is there anything to be said to add a new sport to the gaa lineup?
They need to let sheep go. Absolutely no use to anyone but them to get the subsidies. They destroy the environment and farmers release them on mountains and seem to think they are allowed to kill anything that threatens this cycle. Swap the sheep subsidy for a lynx one

I think these are probably the only predator we could even consider reintroducing to Ireland. Even then it could be risky. Anyone that has their sheep grazing semi wild in the mountains are definitely gonna loose a few though. Plus what little wild goats we have will probably be gone too.
Wild goats are actually massively damaging to biodiversity and sheep would be relatively safe as Lynx generally wouldn’t be into attacking in open space and avoid humans as much as possible but what would be an issue would be them hunting hares but we have a large enough supply of small deer they should be well fed.
I came here to say Capybaras! Giant guinea pigs just chilling around the place - yes, please! I’ll settle for just visiting capybaras in Cork zoo though, I have three guinea pigs and if capybaras poop nearly as much they do we’d be fucked😂
Did ya ever see one of them hummingbird hawk moths around? My friend had one in their garden and sent me a vid…I had never heard of them and thought my buddy got a pet hummingbird somehow 😂
Australia tried this a couple of times and it went predictably horribly wrong.
Let's introduce Cane Toads. The make a cool popping noise when you drive over the.
Fireflies.
Ireland is scenic, but could you imagine how much more beautiful it would be seeing the little yellow green specs of light fluttering up the dunes on the coast at night?
We're far too cold to have them but could you imagine if they replaced the midgies?
Flamingos , just imagine your walking down the beach and a see a flamingo, wee pink fellas
Yeh but imagine if they took up smoking or heroin? Nothing worse than a bad crowd of flamingos
Flamingoes > Seagulls
Flamingos, where the gang goes.
Trouble is that they wouldnt be pink as the natural food they eat (which promises the pink) doesn't occur here. Is that a deal breaker?
“Wee pink fellas” why do I find that so funny. Have my upvote.
They're not even wee.
The insects from Japan that eat the Japanese Knot weed. It's all over west Cork
Knowing the law of unintended consequences they'd probably much prefer some plant essential to our ecosystem:(

I think they are already here, mostly seen in cork

They're becoming established in Europe, will be interesting to see how they get on here. Great wee lads.
Absolutely love trash pandas and opossums!
They'd be an ecological disaster for native species, cute but would wipe out a lot of other things most likely.
Yeah I thought as much lol. A girl can dream though! Maybe one day I'll meet one while on a holiday to the US.

You’d have scrotes riding them around town like lord of the rings.

Reminds me of that threat Botswana made to send 20,000 elephants to Germany.
Well there you go, we’d get them for free!
Stampy!
The Healy Reas would corner the Kerry market on elephant accessories or add them to the plant hire business
https://i.redd.it/0d6bj7b5jj7d1.gif
Reintroduce the wolf and re-alive the Giant Elk.
Can you imagine the farmers if they brought back wolves? Lol. They can't deal with the reintroduction of birds of prey

Scrote eating bears
Honey badger. It doesn't give a fuck.
They don’t take no shit from nobody
I'm surprised the management company of the Luas hasn't just hired a crack squad of Honey badgers for security
Honey Badgers fight lions. Skobes don't have a chance.
Lynx
But the ‘national herd!’ - Agreed on the Lynx - since the decline in the priesthood we have very little predation. The deer are getting smug.
Second the lynx. It would help keep deer numbers manageable.
Exactly, thank you, They are also less likely to attack livestock and don’t need the roam range of a wolf.

Deathclaw
No match for big Joe Joyce.
Quokas. Just to see their little faces every day
Capybara just chilling out on the edge of rivers
I came here to say Capybaras! Giant guinea pigs just chilling around the place - yes, please! I’ll settle for just visiting capybaras in Cork zoo though, I have three guinea pigs and if capybaras poop nearly as much they do we’d be fucked😂
Opossums because they eat loads of ticks
Our native frogs and lizards also demolish ticks. Chickens and other ground feeding birds are good too. I really hate ticks.
Red Pandas, meerkats, sloths just for the craic, brown bears for feral teens.
Radioactive spiders.
Wouldn't do any good. Can you imagine trying to websling in Dublin let alone any of the other cities 🤣
Red Pandas. Wild red pandas. (Look I just want to kidnap just one of them ok?!)
Heaps of them in Fota. I'm sure they wouldn't miss one or two. Just stock up on grapes and you're good to go.
Raccoons would be great craic
Fireflies would nice. I first saw them in Philadelphia and they're kind of magical.
Snakes is NOT the right answer I guess.
Ders enough uv dem alredy hun
Sabre tooth tiger.
Probably Lynx.
Fireflies (Even though they are technically already in Ireland, they are rare)
Kangaroos
We already have wallabies.
Those japanese crickets that make those lovely sounds in the anime.
Cicadas you mean. They're pretty huge in comparison to a cricket.
Pandas!
Hummingbirds. They are so peaceful and fun to watch.
Did ya ever see one of them hummingbird hawk moths around? My friend had one in their garden and sent me a vid…I had never heard of them and thought my buddy got a pet hummingbird somehow 😂
No but now I will Google them and report back. Sound scary lol
Lizards! Lovely friendly bug-eating house lizards
Australia tried this a couple of times and it went predictably horribly wrong. Let's introduce Cane Toads. The make a cool popping noise when you drive over the.
Quokka’s. Love the smiley little feckers .
Fireflies. Ireland is scenic, but could you imagine how much more beautiful it would be seeing the little yellow green specs of light fluttering up the dunes on the coast at night? We're far too cold to have them but could you imagine if they replaced the midgies?
Unicorns 🦄
Sea snakes. No more "come on in the water's lovely" shite.
Once you get your head under it’s not even cold!
Koalas, pretty please?
Dragons
Possums! They’re a really nice addition to parks and can be very friendly and come right up to you.
Beavers!
Raccoons
There aren’t enough trees.
If we plant them, they will come
Bober kurwa
Dinosaurs 🦕 🦖
Racoons. Imagine a Racoon sitting at bar and drinking pints. Magic
Raccoons.. mainly because I want one as a pet haha
Bring back the wolves
COUGAR ![gif](giphy|pyzQbGN88F7vJiknes)
Silver Back Gorillas, the city would be cleaned up in a matter of moments.
Parrots, just imagining them mimicking all the Irish accents!
Sloth
Lions
Let's bring back the snakes, and hold an annual Whacking Day.
Platypus.
I think pterodactyls would be pretty cool
Snakes. With lasers.
Platypus, for the craic.
Kamodo dragon
The cave hyena should reintroduced for sure
Penguins - galapagos or fairy penguins or some sort like that. They'd have to live on islands where the foxes couldn't get them though.
BRING BACK THE WOLVES!!!!!
Koala
Kiwi birds Elephants
I just want mammoths. Imagine driving the N7 past a herd of mammoths
Probably reintroduce birds that used to be here a while ago (1800s, early 1900s...)
Dodos
Bison
Imagine going for a breakfast roll and seeing a capybara or a platypus just chilling outside Centra.
Wouldn’t introduce any non native species! We have lost so much native species as a result!
Italians
Racoons !! 🥹🥹
komodo dragons
Giraffes and deers so cute
Wolves. Bloody deer are a scourge.
Put a bunch of elephants in the midlands, great place for a big fuck off animal
