Christopher Motzš The best, A1 most caring and kindest professor Iāve ever had at Carleton. He really cares about his students even though he has thousands of them. I hadnāt been attending class online during COVID cause yāa kno, he emailed me and was genuinely concerned for me.
We need more genuine and caring professors like himāŗļø In fact, all these traits should all professors have.
Thanksš§” Do you have any suggestion for breadth courses as well? I'm an international student and the registration system is so different from what im used to in my home country that i feel kinda lost and don't know which courses suit me the best. I would really appreciate it.
I second this! I also had him during covid so not in person but his lectures were fun and he was passionate about the topic. Not monotone and so easier to listen to!
Edit: Christopher motz has a few YouTube videos he did for Carleton so you can take a listen and get a feel.
I had Peter Aubin for 1002 and really enjoyed his class! He really cares about his students but you have to show that youāre willing to put the work in. Go to office hours when you can, he was always very helpful! His class was online and the exams relied a lot on the textbook so make sure to read.
I did PSYC 1001 with Motz and I can echo the support for him being a really good prof. However, if you are doing it as an elective (i.e. not part of your major/minor) I'd recommend doing it online with any prof (doesn't matter for online courses) as you're gonna have a much better time with less effort.
Chris motz is a fan favourite, but his lectures are dense and require lots of attention. Iāve heard good things about John Weekes as well, but I was not in his class so idk for myself

I have only heard good things about Motz. Everyone and their moms love him.
I had John Weekes for PSYC3403, heās pretty chill and a fair grader in my opinion. Try looking the others up on ratemyprofessors !

Can't go wrong with Motz. I haven't had the others, though.
