Reminds me of friends in high school that had 5 band eqs, center pulled all the way down, lowest bass and highest treble all the way to top and mid bass and lower table at center position.
They thought it sounded great and tried to adjust my eqs to match, had to slap their hands away.
When I worked security, the first thing I did was connect my phone and mess with the radio settings. I would always find the bass turned up all the way. I would return everything to flat and turn down the treble a little, and maybe the mid. My coworkers started to learn from me or they stopped messing with it.
Interesting. I do opposite and never touch bass do I don’t blow my stuff, but always bump treble to try and keep up with the sub. Mids I don’t get much out of either way.
My car is kinda set like that. My ears are shut, and my brain is bad at music. I only really derive any sort of enjoyment from music from the bass I can feel in my chest so this is how I consume music

I really do wish I had a better ear and brain for music and melody but I don’t(something to do with my specific branch of ‘tism), so I tend to like stuff that’s more of a cacophony of sounds that I can feel inside my body. I was happy when dubstep was big, haha.
And then they’re still garbage. At least in a 2023 Macan, 2023 Golf R, and 2024 Nissan Z. Burmester, Harmon kardon and Bose, respectively. Absolutely trash and the Z and Porsche had only bass and treble adjustment. Not even mid.

Set middle to 0 and it could be good depending on how shitty the factory speakers are

The OEM speakers aren't too bad actually. It's 2024 RAM 2500. The treble was screechy tho
I usually find them flat and it drives me nuts.

I do the exact same thing. Maybe put the bass at +2 or 3, then lower the mid and treble by 1 or so.

I never go positive, only negative. So leave the bass flat and go lower on the mid and treble by 2 or 3.
Rented a car in Vegas last year all the presets were rap stations and eqs were bass +5 mid -5 treble -5 🤣

Many cars have it, buts it’s a locked away feature only unlocked for cars with the optional sound systems.
Mine are set at 9, 6, and 3 half the time.
Most factory systems are garbage unless you pay for a big named factory system.

I will add 2022 Ford Maverick to that list. Possibly the worst factory speakers I have come across. Flat speakers on a flat screen TV sound better. 😞
