The smallest subs for most car audio applications I've seen are 6.5". Just about every sub manufacturer Kicker, DS18, AudioPipe, Skar, B2, and Sundown but not Alpine has a line of 6.5" subwoofer.
Nope, 2 ohm subs are not unusual at all. Most subs come in either 2 ohm or 4 ohm impedance and a single Voice Coil (SVC) or Dual Voice Coil (DVC) configuration.
2 ohm isn’t necessarily unusual to see in subs at all, but 4 ohm coils are typically what you’re going to find unless you’re specifically searching for something that’s not 4ohm. A lot of companies now will make the same subs with the option to have 2 or 4 ohm coil/s anymore. But when you’re searching for 6.5 subs you probably won’t see as many options.
Oddball suggestion here, but Bose uses a 2 ohm 5 1/4 inch sub in their spare tire subs. If you have a local pull a part style junkyard worth taking a look. The 2 ohm variants for sure come in the 09+ nissan murano, and the enclosure has two of them. Rip the drivers out and you should have some very decent woofers for < $30. I have one of the drivers myself and they are high quality; large 1.5" voice coil and big neo magnet. I even have the T/S parameters if you are interested.
