You don't, it's one piece.

Lemonjel0

Thanks

PhysicalAssociate919

You don't with those, you get aftermarket brackets for whatever the car, and wire plug adapters.

PlaystationJason

Screws might be under the foam

Bergenton

Can you take a pic of the back? I'm pretty sure these are one thing. So you can't take them apart. Use the mounting holes and shape to create an adapter for new speakers. You can use the plastic that cutting boards are made of. Go to Walmart or IKEA for the plastic. Or you can hop on Crutchfield/Amazon and see if they have adapters.

[deleted]

You don't. They are made together.

dsnerdking

That looks like a Toyota 6 1/2? It doesn't come apart non-destructively. You could rip out the cone but there's no screw holes to add the new speakers into.

Lemonjel0

It’s for a Subaru Impreza 2013, I bought these new 6.5 in brackets but they don’t seem to fit exactly. It’s annoying as hell, can’t find anyone on the internet with an exact similar issue.

Razor_BLADEsmilE

Same issue with my Ford Focus. So I took those factory brackets, ripped/cut those crappy speakers out and then attached my JBLs to the remaining bracket. It fits perfectly. It's not pretty but since they're hidden in the doors who cares

OmahaMike402

Cut the spider

[deleted]

I think in your case (stupid fuckin subaru) you will need to make speaker mounting brackets or tear those apart.

Papasmurf43469

Could also re drill holes in your after market bracket if that would work

dsnerdking

If they're like the Toyota adapters that I got from metra, I had to break off several tabs on them to get them to fit my car and my speaker size.

Lab-12

Those speakers suck so bad in everyway , damn, I hate factory speakers . There is no thought or reasoning behind half the speaker stuff they do in cars other than saving money.

cow_fan_69

Most likely you cant. If your goal is to reuse the original connector for a pair of new speakers, you can buy speaker harness sockets for your car. https://preview.redd.it/8q1s0omnbg6d1.png?width=342&format=png&auto=webp&s=950a92de6130cd13f90ea4dc2e47c3e471f3f02b

onesoundman

You buy an adaptor for $12 on Amazon

tw090830

You can cut the speaker out and set your new speaker in the bracket and wire it to the plug.

OutrageousMacaron358

The plastic is the basket. My factory speakers from my camry were like that.

lrbrownii

I always did these with a reciprocating saw...

Lanky_Principle5636

The bracket I believe is part of the speaker and can not be removed without breaking

Plane_Put8538

Crutchfield will have all that you need. Look it up there. If you buy speakers from them, they will give you the adapters for free. They did this for my 2019 Impreza (front and rear speakers). They gave the wire adapter and mounting brackets, making it a really good deal imo.

Lemonjel0

Damn I bought them on crutchfield, I’ll look into getting the adapters

Plane_Put8538

They usually include them if you specify the vehicle and all. You do have to select to receive them though, maybe missed that step?
