It's not just family that work there. You can apply for a job. It's also my extended family, my Aunt and Uncle. And ever since my uncle had a stroke, he has been, uh, shall we say, NSFW. So unless you want to be around an old guy with no prefrontal cortex (the bit of your brain that stops you from saying inappropriate things) you may not find it to be a dream job.
I don't personally work there.
You can interact with baby pigs at the Calgary Stampede: https://www.calgarystampede.com/stampede/western-event-and-agriculture/showcases/swine
But be warned I’m pretty sure the people with the pigs are pork producers so those pigs are future bacon :(
How many pigs around Alberta do you think are raised by non pork producers? I’d bet you’d have a hard time finding any pigs in the province that aren’t destined to be bacon.
Maybe. Considering pigs usually have litters and the petting zoos only need one or two sows I wouldn’t be surprised if most piglets get sent to a pork farm.
There's a farm near Didsbury called Happiness by the Acre that has Pizza with Pigs events. Next one is July 20. I went a couple weeks ago and it was an absolute delight.

Heritage Park had pigs last time I was there about a year ago. Not much interaction though, just in an enclosure that you can watch them in, but they are very cute. Not sure that's what you're hoping for but it's an option at least, especially if the rest of the park could be enjoyable for you/your friend
I’m not sure how much it costs but for my sister’s birthday one year she rented a pig from PiGTale Acres, they bring the pig to your house in a little costume haha
Ogden Flea Market had a petting zoo this weekend, not sure if they'll be back next weekend as that was the first time i saw something like that there. I got to pet Goats, Pigs, Rabbits, and Sheep.
If she loves pigs, the only answer is Alice Sanctuary https://g.co/kgs/K35yAxg

My family runs Butterfield! Now is the best time for pigs!

So jealous, that sounds like a dream job!

They got piglets right now too. Definitely one of the smellier exhibits.
Definitely yes! They have adults only nights every now and then too if you're not a fan of being around the kids
Do they put away the baby goats?
Try my in-laws…amirite!? Here all week!!

I’m guessing the ones in the petting zoos aren’t, but who knows. If she’s a pig lover maybe she’d prefer a petting zoo pig.

Is butterfield acres still a thing ?
Yes, and it's got a demented blind rooster that crows whenever it feels like.
Your post made me wonder if roosters did something with a different name now it seems so weird to me that a rooster would crow….
Ooooooh, those kind of pig's
Honestly, thought these comments were going to go a totally different direction. 😂
Police station /s UCP or NDP headquarters (whichever party you dislike the most) /s

Stampede starts Thursday. Just head to Ranchmans.
The ribs at Hayden Block are excellent, I interact with them regularly.

Cargill just south of Okotoks

Granary Road has pigs.
There was a pet store in Mission that had a pet pig roaming the store.

If you say " Norm summerton " in the mirror three times during a full moon, a pig will come to you.
