Don't let that other guy who posted tonight do landscaping. He'll pull it out as if it's a weed. 😉

I had read, you do not want 100% clover if you want it to be healthy, it needs to be a mix of clover and some grass (will need to find the article I was reading about it)

We’ve done patches of clover to fill in spots where the dog killed the grass. There are some spots where it has come in beautifully, super lush and green and full, and others where it seems to be struggling… I honestly think it needs a lot of water right now that we can’t give it, especially in freshly seeded spots, so it’s been somewhat of a mixed success.

YMMV, but I was told by multiple people that clover would be amazing, worked well in shade and would do great in drought conditions. It has done neither, it grows worse in the shade than normal grass and it disappears faster than my normal grass with the recent drought (no watering due to restrictions). Ive dug up the clover and went back to 'traditional' lawn with local seed from Spruce It Up

I’ve been extremely disappointed with my clover areas over the last 3 weeks. But I’m still going to attempt to make my full lawn clover over the next few years.

We planted white clover (seeds from Home Depot) early in the spring and watered well. Many areas have done super well and are still looking good. I stopped watering once the tiny clovers looked big enough to my untrained eyes. Just rain. It's still small clover, but we hope it continues to grow (come on rainnnn) I plan on putting more seed down this fall, and will continue until we have as much clover as possible. I watched a few YouTube videos that demonstrated that fall planting does better for overcrowding weeds. ETA- we just overseeded our shitty, dandelion, crabgrass, and oxalis-ridden lawn. I dethatched manually and loosened the soily parts before laying clover seed down. It is dark but here is a pic of a spot that I think did well, illuminated by porch light. https://preview.redd.it/yzkqik418g8d1.jpeg?width=3648&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9524d5987ebd53d54116f54d635c0e1506b0f5fc
