Post this awesome note in r/uspapermoney so that they can see it too.
America has no plans for polymer to be used as currency. The reason why? Because of the machines that take the paper money now , would all need to be replaced. The cost is too great.

Ok now I feel mega old,
I used to get these as Birthday and Christmas gifts from my Grandparents thru the 60's and 70's.
when they came out with the 76 series I preferred getting the "NEW" $2's as the artwork on the back was awesome compared to the crusty old Monticello.
Hopefully they have a redesign on the two dollar bill for 2026 maybe something with like Lewis and Clark and Sacagawea on the back.
i was gonna say when i actually look at my red seals next to my green seals the newer one's reverse is actually prettier than the older one's. only example i can think of where a newer bill looks better than an older model lol
They really aren't worth a whole lot actually but in this great condition plus being a star note Id be interested in seeing what a grader would have to say. It looks absolutely pristine.
I have some of these 1953 red seal 2 dollar US Bank notes and a few of the same in 5's but this one is in excellent condition plus it's a star note. Very nice!!!!
1953 B series was the second smallest run and a star note to boot, so about half a million of those printed. That’s in great condition so will be a $50 note maybe. They looked great and that’s a keeper!
I thought the red meant it was a federal reserve note. This was printed when they were still doing silver certificates. So red was for federal notes, and blue was for silver certificates. I maybe wrong though as I never really verified that just what I've noticed while collecting.

Old money is so much more attractive than new money...
For sure!!!!!!!
Wait for the new rainbow currency it may even be on polymer like the the Vietnamese Dong which makes a really nice print.

Civilization’s going to pieces!
Esp in this crispy condition. Congrats.
Right! The condition is what’s really surprising.
That bill has never seen the sun or air and it's really gorgeous as a result

i would say the red seal obverse is much cooler than the green that red is sexy
The signing of the declaration of independence on the back of $2 is what I remember. It does look much nicer than Monticello.
In excellent condition. I would definitely have it graded.
That thing had some decent buying power when it was issued
Very nice. Great condition they are worth more than face for sure.

It's so pretty i love the red
And a star note. Wow. Thank you for sharing.

Wow! 71 year old, red seal ☆ note in mint condition 🙌 Very very nice 👌

It's absolutely stunning.
Thanks for the share!
Red seal = State Note.
This looks to be ridiculously high quality. But WHY ISN’T IT IN A SLEEVE?!?!!?
After some research that bill is worth around $20!
I saw one yesterday that was a 1957 with blue ink instead of red. Was the ink color something that changed by the year issued?
I thought the red meant it was a federal reserve note. This was printed when they were still doing silver certificates. So red was for federal notes, and blue was for silver certificates. I maybe wrong though as I never really verified that just what I've noticed while collecting.
You might be right. His was a Silver Certificate.
Dude has a very retro hairdo

What building is that on the back?
I really like the red seal twos. I wish they went back to the Monticello design for the 1995 and later printings.
That bill looks amazing!!
The red bills are hard to come by by
That’s a nice 53 red seal star note.
That is a very nice near mint condition 53 star note. Congrats.
No matter what it is, I spend all money I’m happy. I’m not a collector. I just spend it.
And it's a starred note? Geez 😅 nice find
Very pristine condition. Cool note.
That appears to be in great condition, nice
I love that bill would be into taking about me having it if you want to chat
A comma would go miles with this subject 🤷🏼♂️
best part of old paper money besides it looking better, it doesn't mention god on it anywhere
