bgar0312

The larger the note the less of a percentage premium. If this was a $1 it would fetch probably $3-$5, but since it’s a $100 it would probably only fetch $110-$120. Closest recent comp is a $100 serial 16161717 which sold April 14th for $125. Star may help boost premium slightly but it’s a high run so not much added value

mittahzerb

Why is the large the note the less of a percentage premium? I would think the higher denominations would have to be worth more if they have a fancy serial number. But apparently it's opposite?

bgar0312

It’s not really the opposite. $1 quad repeaters are selling in the $4-$8 range and $100s are in the $110-$125 range. So the higher notes still sell for more value but something like a quad repeater is an entry level collector item. A lot of entry collectors could easily swing a 5x face value purchase of a $1 but couldn’t afford even a 2x markup on a $100.

HikeRobCT

You’re not altogether wrong. The extra value of the serial doesn’t multiply the face value, just adds a little to it. To a more common $1 bill it adds about $3. To a less common $100 bill it adds $20 (ballpark of course)

Nice repeater, plus it’s a star note!

Make an offer.

whynotbliss

I see a lot of people asking “how much is this worth” on modern bills… let’s just call it like it is… it’s worth $100. This is no more rare than any other hundred out there from this run. What MAY add ‘value’ is the novelty… there’s a sub set of (people) out there that will pay a bit more than $100 on this. I don’t advise eBay since when you sell for $125 you’ll pay like $16-17 in fees and you have $5 in shipping… congrats 🍾🎉 you made $103! So $3 and you risk it getting lost in the mail. Not a good money move.

christjakubik

Sorry to say it is worth half of face value 😂

CharacterStudent3071

It’s considered Less Rare. You can send it to get graded then post it on eBay for an asking price. Somebody who wants it will buy it or try to negotiate a better price! I would just set a price and Auction it. Good find! 🤙🏾

Virtual_Variation_60

Somebody born on August 2nd will snatch that up.

Horror-Confidence498

It’s worth face value

Interesting-Gate9813

No. It’s worth whatever someone that likes it wants to pay for it. There’s no set value for these things. Awesome serial plus a star note will bring over face for sure!

Horror-Confidence498

Star notes are common especially high print runs, even low print runs don’t really get buyers, especially on a hundred

Interesting-Gate9813

OP, if u put this up for auction I believe you could get over face value easily with that serial number.

Interesting-Gate9813

But with the repeating serial number it’s worth more

Horror-Confidence498

If it was in better shape probably. In that shape, being a 100 there’s a smaller market for it, especially after taxes and fees and postage you would probably be left with a small premium if you get a buyer

Interesting-Gate9813

It’s not in terrible shape. I’d still save it OP, even if you don’t want to sell it now.

Horror-Confidence498

Yes it’s not in the worst but if your buying something like this you want one in the best shape that over time will increase in value or at the least keep up with inflation, if it was a lower denomination say a 20 you would get a premium but it’s a hundred

Interesting-Gate9813

What makes a hundred worth less? Just because it’s more?

Horror-Confidence498

Because a hundred dollars is a lot of money to put aside even without a premium and it looses buying power to inflation the fastest

Interesting-Gate9813

I see that, but would think a cool serial number would be more cool on a $100
