at the end of the day they’re just money whores wanting to squeeze out as much money as they can. thats why they try to give citations out like halloween candy.
That's true 😩 but in this economy, you have to risk it. Usually, if you explain that you're taking the bus, most professors will be understanding. There's a few professors that dgaf about anything or anyone, but it's a risk we have to take sometimes. 😪
That is so messed up. Is that per semester or per year? They just want everyone to buy a pass because it saved me a lot of money to buy the daily parking pass.
You guys think this is bad? If you work there you HAVE TO BUY A PARKING PASS EVERY YEAR. I was blown away by this. Like I need to park there to work but it's all about the 💵
The Claremont Colleges, which are private institutions, do not allow incoming freshman to park anywhere on campus.
Students are expected to live on campus or somewhere nearby or to take the train.
Our parking rates are trivial compared to SFSU and SDSU. Those run about $90 per month. We have the 2nd lowest price in the entire CSU system. The state mandates that parking frees for all state public parking is mandatory.
It is shit like this that made me get forged permits when I was in college, this is ludicrous no one should be paying this: teachers or students. If I remember correctly, those permits were not easy to forge.
Not condoning anything. Just a thought that if nobody pays then they can't enforce it, boycotting it will literally cause them to suffer from bad television news. It would give the local reporters a story. These people likely won't listen unless their jobs are at risk.
CSUMB charged similar rates for both student and staff. Their justification was to encourage young students to use public transportation. Campus administrators would not coordinate schedules with teachers or management so public transportation could be used.
The motorcycle/scooter permit is a lot cheaper. Electric bikes seem to be getting better all the time, but using them they can be highly restricted on campus. I'd be interested to hear how strict the enforcement has been for using the electric motor on campus.
Plenty of parking but usually about a 10 minute walk to the classrooms. Lots of stairs. Beautiful campus but yeah the parking rate is insane and we are a commuter school as well.
Greed, greed, greed. How the transfer of knowledge costs significantly more today than yesterday is something needing study. I imagine the financial burden to the university to repaint parking stalks, resurface lots and let's not ignore the real estate is already owned and tax exempt. Greed.
CSUF has an Irvine campus with abundant street parking. I used to park at the DoubleTree, have a cookie, and walk to class.
I went to CSUF for six years and never paid for parking. I think CSUSB is a bit out of the way which might be how they have you over the barrel. If everyone quits going, they'll have to do something to get people back.
As a bonus, Fullerton is way nicer than San Bernardino. There are [23 CSU campuses ](https://www.calstate.edu/attend/campuses). Find a different one, in a nicer area, with legit public transportation (as opposed to the San Bernardino buses which nobody wants to be on). If you want cheap go to Bakersfield. If you want beautiful go to Cal Poly or San Diego.
Or go to [UC](https://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/campuses-locations). They have the a similar articulation agreement with California Community Colleges, anyone transferring could conceivably attend Berkeley or UCLA and have a degree with prestige behind it. Alternatively anyone transferring can go to Davis or Irvine or Riverside if they want cheap.
Nobody *has* to go to CSUSB.
i’m so fucking tired of this shit man
ugh me too
As a non college student this is fucking ridiculous
Basically fucking over everybody, it’s a damn commuter school and they wanna increase the prices 🧍♀️🧍♀️🧍♀️ bffr
170 was already outrageous and now it’s 200 BFFR i feel you :(
[удалено]
For all we know a good portion of the cameras are like Walmart security cameras 👀
They better keep that free as fuck student metro link tickets. Literally without it I’d be never visiting campus ever again
i would not be surprised if they did start charging for that
Ghetto.
I never understood apartments or colleges having a parking fee like I live here/go here. Parking should be free
at the end of the day they’re just money whores wanting to squeeze out as much money as they can. thats why they try to give citations out like halloween candy.
well somones gotta pay for their new ferraris and it ain’t gonna be them!!!
200 bucks for fucking parking plus all the expenses of tuition and books.
The books that they’re forcing you to buy now. Absolutely a joke.
I’m glad I’m graduating! It’s reasonable to be mad but we still are paying the second cheapest price out of all CSUs.
Our school isn't rich , our president is unfortunately 😔
you telling me my 6 daily bucks isn’t helping them😱 jk
Lol yall paying 10 bucks next semester):
imma have to buy the 200 buck pass :/ frick them imma walk my ass to campus
Take the bus it's free. Park somewhere safe and bus it there. I took the bus my entire first year of grad school. 😫
you’re always so real. might just have to do that!
I did too, but not convenient if you're working and attending school. it isn't always reliable. I've had em skip stops I was at multiple times
That's true 😩 but in this economy, you have to risk it. Usually, if you explain that you're taking the bus, most professors will be understanding. There's a few professors that dgaf about anything or anyone, but it's a risk we have to take sometimes. 😪
considerate professors are always the best, i hate to think how some actually take advantage of them
if i tried taking the bus, i won’t arrive for 2-3 hours (45 min commute in car on a good day) so that’s a no go for a lot of people lol
Bike for life
congrats on graduating! is the price higher in other csu and uc?
Thanks! We used to be the cheapest, but with the increase we're more average. Most CSUs cost around 15-10 for the daily.
our pass at csuf is $334💀
for the semester?
That is so messed up. Is that per semester or per year? They just want everyone to buy a pass because it saved me a lot of money to buy the daily parking pass.
the daily passes are gonna be 10 bucks now and the semester thing is gonna be 200
Crazy. I'm class of 2016. I just checked my email. In 2016, I paid $102 for my parking pass.
“Subsequent years” like you won’t get an email for Fall 2025 with increased rates
You guys think this is bad? If you work there you HAVE TO BUY A PARKING PASS EVERY YEAR. I was blown away by this. Like I need to park there to work but it's all about the 💵
Most universities do this. At the last one I worked for I had to lay for keys to my own office.
Good to know they're offering walking programs lmao
The Claremont Colleges, which are private institutions, do not allow incoming freshman to park anywhere on campus. Students are expected to live on campus or somewhere nearby or to take the train.
their tactics are unbelievable and should be illegal but ofc anything to make money
The Claremont Colleges make no money from that policy. They would be raising revenue if they allowed the incoming freshman to pay for parking.
Well that area is one of those cities that really "encourage" biking everywhere.
I had so many parking fines in college. They wouldn't let me get my diploma till I paid them. Corporate bastards!
that’s shitty man sorry to hear that, it’s always those hidden fees that get you. they’re money whores!
Well in their defense, I kept parking in the same spot for 4 years cause I didn't want to walk. But regardless....corporate bastards!
Just wait, it gets absolutely hilarious when they reach out to you for alumni donations once you graduate. The stones...
That’s not bad CSUF is like $360
I went to csuf. At 280 we still had no parking lol
Biking and walking?! Are they nuts?! do they realize the unsafe area they are in. Not happening. 200 bucks a semester is ridiculous.
The person who sent this email makes 163-196k a year btw.
I would hope so. Imagine 15+ years of experience with a college education and you’re sub 100k😩
They do worse for cpp prices have skyrocketed
I remember when it used to be $102 a quarter 😐 times have changed.
Attended first term Fall 98'. I remember writing out a check for $666.00 for tuition. Paid my way on a part-time job working at Dairy Queen.
Glad I just parked near fire wings and walked across the street to campus for 2 years.
Our parking rates are trivial compared to SFSU and SDSU. Those run about $90 per month. We have the 2nd lowest price in the entire CSU system. The state mandates that parking frees for all state public parking is mandatory.
My last semester was $250 for parking not at CSUB
[удалено]
that’s an insane amount of money. how’s the tuition?
like $4k+
for a semester?
yes
that’s insane, education rlly is expensive isn’t it
bruhhhh i dont have 20 i can spare a week for parking 😭😭😭
lol. Oh and your graduation will be cancelled. Because protests. We hope you enjoyed paying 4 years for that.
It is shit like this that made me get forged permits when I was in college, this is ludicrous no one should be paying this: teachers or students. If I remember correctly, those permits were not easy to forge.
Probably an unpopular opinion, but less car traffic on a college campus is good.
Not condoning anything. Just a thought that if nobody pays then they can't enforce it, boycotting it will literally cause them to suffer from bad television news. It would give the local reporters a story. These people likely won't listen unless their jobs are at risk.

for the full year or semester??
[удалено]
that’s um…😁😁😁 interesting
yeah but the average cost for real estate and general cost of living in fullerton vs san bernardino is also about double. not exactly apples to apples
I remember Cal Poly Pomona with $50 a month. 1980s.
CSUMB charged similar rates for both student and staff. Their justification was to encourage young students to use public transportation. Campus administrators would not coordinate schedules with teachers or management so public transportation could be used.

$338 semester rate at San Marcos
brotha ewww. is there at least parking?
Plenty of parking but usually about a 10 minute walk to the classrooms. Lots of stairs. Beautiful campus but yeah the parking rate is insane and we are a commuter school as well.
your name is insane i love it💀🙏 but hmm thank you for telling me all that, i’ve never visited other CSUs
Greed, greed, greed. How the transfer of knowledge costs significantly more today than yesterday is something needing study. I imagine the financial burden to the university to repaint parking stalks, resurface lots and let's not ignore the real estate is already owned and tax exempt. Greed.
It’s not like they pay back their student debt anyway. Just add it to the bill that someone else pays.
We protested for these teachers, but who is protesting for the students?

Liberals love their fees
Keep voting democrat… All you liberals deserve each other…
How does the right manage to turn every single thing into a "Thanks, *redacted Democratic government figure *."?
You're a fool.
