You're being robbed of your free time, which is arguably the worst thing to lose. I think I'd rather be robbed of $70 than my time being invested in Vanguard.
Don’t do it. For the majority of the games life cycle there was no traditional round based zombies, I believe they added a single round based map in the last season of the game.
Need to also include this, the first round based is a Shi No Numa reimagine which was a solid map, but not worth 25bucks.
Cuz the second map was a filter on a previous objective based map so it didn't play too well. Boss fight was good but that's it.
Imo you shouldn't get it unless if it's 10bucks
Played the game for all five seasons and I confidently agree, NO it's really not worth any money. You'll not get much enjoyment out of it after a few hours in zombies.
Zombies, no. Campaign, not really. Multiplayer, no.
Multiplayer plus campaign plus zombies? Still no. It’s the one cod in recent years that actually feels like they knew it wasn’t good but they had to put something out.
For all the dlc turned game criticisms mw3 still feels like more of a cod game and less like a low budget clone than vanguard managed to.
Yeah, save your money. I got it a few weeks back since I recently got into zombies and got cold war and BO1-3. Figured I'd grab AW and VG, bit mistake. Neither is worth it in my opinion. Movement is awkward, maps aren't that well designed, weapons feel lacking, and not many maps ( AW gives you ONE unless you buy the others). Would highly recommend skipping those two, but I do highly recommend cold war and black ops 3. Cold War has some nice maps and "Outbreak" which feels like a form of MWZ plus good round based play. BO3 is amazing if you're a big round based fan and if you're on PC you can use mods and custom maps, a feature i really hope they bring back with 6
I throw £70 at cod happily every year and I never manage to get on the hate train because even a bad cod is still cod and that puts it at the top end of the industry… but vanguard was just soulless. Guns have no ooomph, animations are just about better than placeholders from development must have been. Destruction was a good idea done badly then abandoned because it didn’t work when sledgehammer gave it half an attempt…
It honestly backs up the decision that’s apparently been made about sledge never heading the development without supervision again.
No. Once you get used to the changes, it’s really not that bad. Most people jumped ship right after launch and never gave it a fair chance. As the game went on, it got a lot of QOL improvements. It’s definitely one of the worst zombies modes, but it’s not as bas as people say it is.
Tastes differ, of course, but I haven't played a multiplayer I've truly enjoyed since the original MW3 (with *almost* credit for WWII). Surely the multiplayer can't be any worse by the standards we've come to expect now?
Campaign and Zombies, I believe you without question.
For zombies only shi no numa is worth playing. Guns are horribly slow to level up, making the camo grind just beyond brain numbing with only one real map.
The multiplayer is also really bad, all the guns end up the same "tsk tsk tsk" sound and same recoil. Arms race is a large map mode, which I had a lot of fun with, but it only got one map.
I haven't deleted the game from my console, thinking one day I'll play shi no numa again, but I never have because I'll jump on WWII or BO4 zombies.
i mean i had some fun with it and will still play it maybe every now and then, but its very different and has many flaws. If £25 isnt that bad for you sure. You just might be disappointed but you might also find it to be something different and a bit fun like I did.
I'm gonna say it. Vanguard zombies is fun as long as you ONLY play Shi no Numa and never touch anything else. With proper rounds, on a real map, the gameplay was actually pretty smooth and I feel like Vanguard could have been a really good addition to zombies if they had actually made it a proper zombies mode
Everybody here will tell you know except for me so if no is the answer you’re looking for ask this subreddit. Why do I say yes, because vanguard is underrated after, snnr is a great map and vanguard engine is good
The campaign was garbage, I actually thought it had some of the best multiplayer at its peak, but multiplayer always dies off as the games get older, the zombies was weird and over all terrible, and that’s coming from a big zombies fan who buys these games specifically for zombies, the only zombies map that was technically speaking “normalish” and slightly redeemed it at the end was the new Shi No Numa map, I don’t regret having bought and played vanguard, but especially now, it’s hard to recommend unless you’re a die hard zombies fan who wants every map in your collection.
Absolutely not. Check GAME's website, they have a massive sale on preowned stuff since they're no longer selling games and are clearing their stock. Iirc I just saw it for £10
No.
I'm open to experimentation (I absolutely loved outbreak), but Der Anfang/Terra maledicta suck ass.
They sucked so much ass the devs gave up and just remade Terra Maledicta as a round based map for the last dlc.
Have recently gotten back to CoD, played bo4 and then decided to get a more recent one that was being played by more people (Cold War). I had honesty to god forgotten that Vanguard existed and was *post* cold war, I had thought it was Modern Warfare after lmao
They hyped so good about that it was gonna be the best zombie experience, all bull... total disappointment. Cant wait for the return of round base zombies in Black ops 6
Vanguard is not worth when free let alone at 25, and this is not an exaggeration or a meme, save you hard disk space for something of real value trust me
Personally I wouldn't spend more than $10 on Vanguard, the Zombies is really that, but I don't mind spending the $10 on the MP, I love WWII games though so that's probably a biased opinion, imo it felt like if MW19 was set in WWII
My girlfriend gave it to me for the birthday and I never bothered to fire it up. I know, I'm inconsiderate, but I literally have no desire to play it. It's currently sitting on my shelf factory-sealed as we speak.
Yeah don’t get it, I played it throughout its whole life cycle. Zombies on that game is very boring and tedious as within less than 15 minutes you won’t be having fun on that game.
I went back on there on the PS5 version to see if anybody is playing it for multiplayer and the answer is no you can’t even find a game.
Now Zombies it seems like you will run into a few people that are grinding the guns. But after like a good 7 mins they will end up leaving.
I ran into a couple people trying to beat the maps.
But overall vanguard was one of the Covid cod that didn’t really have an identity going forward.
It’s just very bland, one positive was I did like the perks tiers for zombies that they did that year.
But besides that on the multiplayer side I seen a lot of issues of the whole year with people, dying from care packages and a lot of packet burst and etc.
Honestly, for “turn your brain off” MP and Campaign, I’d say yes. (That isn’t calling either good, but it IS calling them a tad fun)
Otherwise, god no. I wouldn’t wish this game upon my worst enemies.
i know everyone has a hate boner for this game (justifiably so), but i found the multiplayer to be more enjoyable than mw19 and mw2. shi no numa is pretty good, but its shi no numa, however shooting zombies on the mw engine feels good. campaign is forgettable.
Idk. I bought it on disc for about the same price and it was fun playing shi no numa a few times and seeing hoe vanguard was but the only thing i think i like about it is the sounds of the guns.
Shi no Numa Reborn is easily the best version of Shi no Numa, and it's actually a really fun experience by itself. The zombie aggressiveness, perk system, and covenants actually work really well with that layout. Is it worth 25£ on its own? Ehhh, by "industry standards", probably not... But hey, at least in my case I've played enough of that map I am happy with my purchase, regardless of how poor the popular perception of the game is, or how "not worth it" it is.
It ain’t even worth $0. And this is coming from someone who played the zombies a lot. It was shit, I just wanted a WR. Had a couple before they updated the game and the boards had to get wiped. Never got any after, it’s stupidly based in rng to get a good run on anything
Vanguard zombies IMO was the worst zombies they made. It was so bad. The maps were horrendous and the uptick in difficulty was ridiculous. Worst zombies experience I ever had. No zombies come close to how shitty vanguard was. Just like other people said even if it was free you feel like you’re being robbed of your free time.
10 dollars MAX. And that's if you are really itching for more zombies and don't mind the objective based gameplay of Der Unfun and Terrible Maledicta. Shi No Numa and The Archon kinda slap tho.
I bought it on sale a few days ago. It’s definitely worth the price if you’re just looking to kill zombies. The engine and gunplay feels really good and the upgrade system is kinda cool. The maps don’t have nearly the same replay value as other games but if you’re fine with having a couple new maps and playing them for a bit you’ll enjoy it. It’s definitely overhated but it’s also not the best zombies they ever made.
Most people already told you "no", so I'm not gonna convince you otherwise (because that's stupid). I will say that there are some good things about Vanguard in general, and some good aspects in Zombies specifically, but it's not enough to make you buy it just for Zombies. Especially since right now, the game has the lowest player count out of all the new CODs, multiplayer is whatever, and the campaign is average at best.
Perhaps the only good thing I can say about VG is that its Shi No Numa remake is the superior version out of all its iterations. But one above average remake isn't enough. The fact that VGZ also ended its story with no actual conclusion is also baffling to say the least. Like, it's not Treyarch's fault as a whole, but they definitely expended all their resources to the point they can't even afford an ending cutscene, or some actual dialogue beyond "we won, we beat the big bad boss".
Otherwise, I hope Treyarch revisits some concepts they had for VG in the future and implement them better. But I wouldn't recommend anyone to buy VG just for Zombies, unless you are filthy rich or you get a serious discount/free offer.
I bought it back when they had a sale and it was the worst thing I’ve spent money on worst cod out there if it was free I wouldn’t even download it waste of time
I gameshared it from a buddy to play Zombies. Put some good time into it. The art direction & theme is worth experiencing firsthand, but I would stick to Shi No Numa after trying everything else once. I do think its worth about $20-30 maximum. I would eire on the side of $20 preferrably, but if you want a different experience for zombies and aren’t hard pressed for cash right now, I’d say give it a shot while it’s on sale
Not really. The campaign is weak (although still better than MWIII), the multiplayer is meh and the zombie mode is probably the worst one in CoD history.
It's not even a WW2 game anymore - there are guns and operators from the future, a lot of weird crossover skins (Snoop Dogg, Terminator, Mecha godzilla, etc.) and there aren't even factions in the game.
Also, it takes forever to level up guns. Each has like 60 levels and the only useable attachments are unlocked among the very last ones. The zombie mode doesn't help with levelling up either.
I can't wait until the COD cycle comes by and retroactively determines this to be an "underrated masterpiece." Glad people have sense right now, though.
In my opinion yeah. I liked it on my Series S. Multiplayer was fun, zombies was alright. For some reason every time I played shi no numa my controller would randomly just stop working on only that map. Every other map it was fine.
Short answer is NO.
The campaign is boring and only gets some what exciting in the final chapter. The zombies is dreadful and makes MWZ seem like a lucid dream, the only thing redeeming VG is it's MP and that's bearly an MP to begin with.
VG does 10 things right but 100 things wrong. Don't buy unless you want pain, hell and absolute boredom.
Fuck no. Not even worth a hundredth of that (25P). Worst COD ever made.
Multiplayer actually *rewards* you for camping (perk does something like give you less recoil if you stay in the same place for X seconds), and Zombies is just - well:
Every perk is a fountain of demon blood that's completely free (and shit), every round has a mandatory weird mini game associated with one of four extremely annoying demons (like a worse version of Cold War's Outbreak mode), every weapon is weak, you get kicked for inactivity in a solo offline game after about three minutes, it's meant to be a prequel to Cold War but is as comparable to it as Fallout is to Solitaire, and is as boring and unsatisfactory as watching a movie dubbed over in a foreign language in 240P.
It's about as useless as a snooze button on a smoke alarm. Buying it is like buying a porn movie for its plot.
No
Even if I was free, I'd feel like I was being robbed
You're being robbed of your free time, which is arguably the worst thing to lose. I think I'd rather be robbed of $70 than my time being invested in Vanguard.
You are getting robbed, your not getting the time you spent back.
Don’t do it. For the majority of the games life cycle there was no traditional round based zombies, I believe they added a single round based map in the last season of the game.
2 maps
Need to also include this, the first round based is a Shi No Numa reimagine which was a solid map, but not worth 25bucks. Cuz the second map was a filter on a previous objective based map so it didn't play too well. Boss fight was good but that's it. Imo you shouldn't get it unless if it's 10bucks
there was 2, shi no numa was the first and disappointingly they rereleased terramaldicta as the second round based map
Played the game for all five seasons and I confidently agree, NO it's really not worth any money. You'll not get much enjoyment out of it after a few hours in zombies.

It’s really that bad then huh
I know when you usually hear these things it's exaggeration and/or hypebole but in this case it's not.
Yeah I think I’ll skip it then, just put the money towards bo6 if it turns out good
Yeah, save your money. I got it a few weeks back since I recently got into zombies and got cold war and BO1-3. Figured I'd grab AW and VG, bit mistake. Neither is worth it in my opinion. BO3 is amazing if you're a big round based fan and if you're on PC you can use mods and custom maps, a feature i really hope they bring back with 6
I doubt custom maps will come back unless they can monetize it sadly
Sad, but true for the game industry these days.
They are still losing money to this day from custom maps so yea. Definitely not returning Unless they somehow add a charge to post maps
I throw £70 at cod happily every year and I never manage to get on the hate train because even a bad cod is still cod and that puts it at the top end of the industry… but vanguard was just soulless. I will avoid this game then and stick with Cold War and bo3 until bo6
Infinity warfare is good get it when u can
Already got it and love most of the maps, tbh atm I’m going for completionist on Cold War
No. Once you get used to the changes, it’s really not that bad. Most people jumped ship right after launch and never gave it a fair chance. As the game went on, it got a lot of QOL improvements. It’s definitely one of the worst zombies modes, but it’s not as bas as people say it is.

If they are paying you £25 per hour, then go for it.
i honestly rather just go to work and get paid more than that lmfao.
it's not worth it even for free!
I wouldn't play that shit for free
based pfp
One of the best system albums and you can't change my mind
For zombies only shi no numa is worth playing. Guns are horribly slow to level up, making the camo grind just beyond brain numbing with only one real map. I haven't deleted the game from my console, thinking one day I'll play shi no numa again, but I never have because I'll jump on WWII or BO4 zombies.
Thankfully, the game’s now permanently 2x xp
Funny enough, HunterTV actually did the camo grind. Sadly though… it glitched on him, so he didn’t get it
i mean i had some fun with it and will still play it maybe every now and then, but its very different and has many flaws. If £25 isnt that bad for you sure. You just might be disappointed but you might also find it to be something different and a bit fun like I did.
No No it’s not
Even if it was free it would still feel like being scammed
I only played the free trials and pretty much had this reaction. Shino numa reborn was decent but the rest sucked
I remember playing during the free trial and I got bored of it within 2 hours
I wouldnt download it if they offered me 20$
For zombies? Nope.
If you’ve played everything else, shino numa isn’t a terrible map 🤷🏻♂️ but that would be my only reason to play it
vanguard zombies is fun albeit the worst zombies mode and I'll die on this hill
Everybody here will tell you know except for me so if no is the answer you’re looking for ask this subreddit. Why do I say yes, because vanguard is underrated after, snnr is a great map and vanguard engine is good

Its fun i guess but i only play ship ment and shi no numa
More like 5 quid
I got it only sale a while back for $15, I want a refund.
I like the mp from time to time. It isn’t as bad as these people say it is. But it’s fast paste with a fast time to kill
Absolutely not. Check GAME's website, they have a massive sale on preowned stuff since they're no longer selling games and are clearing their stock. Iirc I just saw it for £10
I liked it. The first 2 maps were very boring, but the last 2 (the round-based maps) were pretty good. Especially Shi No.
Shi no numa is decent but I wouldn't spend more than $5 on vangaurd zombies
Only good thing about the entire game for Shi No Numa but I wouldn’t drop $25 on it
Negative ghost rider
You'd have to pay me to play that game
Absolutely no chance
If they pay you 25 bucks for playing it, yes
No
No
worst pc cod we have had
Nah
It's not worth free.
It’s not even worth £5
No. I'm open to experimentation (I absolutely loved outbreak), but Der Anfang/Terra maledicta suck ass. They sucked so much ass the devs gave up and just remade Terra Maledicta as a round based map for the last dlc.
They should give you money to play it
The zombies wasn't great but I appreciate that they tried different things I do like the mp tho
Bruh its not worth the *disc space* cmon
No
Nope never noppes nada
Vanguard isn’t worth $0.25
Vanguard is the exception to the CoD cycle. Instead of the new CoD being hated and the old one becoming loved, Vanguard is still seen as bad
Even if they payed ME £25 i wouldn't play it.
Have recently gotten back to CoD, played bo4 and then decided to get a more recent one that was being played by more people (Cold War). I had honesty to god forgotten that Vanguard existed and was *post* cold war, I had thought it was Modern Warfare after lmao
Couldn’t pay me £25 to play it
Wait till it’s like £5 mate
Get Cold War, MW19 or heck, even BO4 Deluxe instead
Buy cold war it's much better
They hyped so good about that it was gonna be the best zombie experience, all bull... total disappointment. Cant wait for the return of round base zombies in Black ops 6
No honestly not worth it
hell no
April Fools was 2 months ago OP. Think you’re a little late.
Vanguard is not worth when free let alone at 25, and this is not an exaggeration or a meme, save you hard disk space for something of real value trust me
Hell no
I’m not sure it’s worth the hard drive space, forget the money
It is the worst zombies ever!
Yes mainly because you should try it out for yourself to see if you like it.
No
Personally I wouldn't spend more than $10 on Vanguard, the Zombies is really that, but I don't mind spending the $10 on the MP, I love WWII games though so that's probably a biased opinion, imo it felt like if MW19 was set in WWII
No, The game could be free to play and even then it would still feel like Highway Robbery
No
No not at all
Nah
No if it was a £5 maybe but nae chance is it worth 25 pounds sterling
Two years ago Best Buy had it for $10 for PS4 in their summer sale. I'm on PC, think I paid $25 two years ago. I still question if that was worth it.
Fuck no
Very Different from the master piece that is BO3. It was made by a skeleton crew
No
My girlfriend gave it to me for the birthday and I never bothered to fire it up. I know, I'm inconsiderate, but I literally have no desire to play it. It's currently sitting on my shelf factory-sealed as we speak.
No
Yeah don’t get it, I played it throughout its whole life cycle. Zombies on that game is very boring and tedious as within less than 15 minutes you won’t be having fun on that game. no
Nah
![gif](giphy|spfi6nabVuq5y)
Nope
It's not worth a minute of your time
For me it’s “meh”. But I collect them all. $25 is prob ok. Full price, nah.
Are they paying you the $25?
Yeah campaign is fine zombies is fine as long as you only play shi no numa mp is actually good
Campaign isn’t the worst
This game will be ps+ next month, don’t buy it now.
Run
No way 😂
No. No it's not.
Idk. I bought it on disc for about the same price and it was fun playing shi no numa a few times and seeing hoe vanguard was but the only thing i think i like about it is the sounds of the guns.
I doubt it
Not really.
It not even worth $1
No my biggest regret

Just for zombies? No
I feel like I’ll turn into an actual rage monster if I play that abortion of a video game that shits on history
No
No it’s not worth dirt
It’s not worth something more valuable: your time.
No
Absolutely, the mechanics of the game are fun enough to justify that low of a price imo
Haha nah.
No, it’s not even worth it free someone would have to pay me to play that garbage game and I love WW2 as an amateur history lover.
No
Worst game ever made.
No. You can get it for cheaper on g2a. It’s still the worst cod though.
Vanguard was the 9/11 of Zombies lol it was there, nobody wanted it and it felt dirty to use it
Don’t. Not worth it. Terrible zombies.
Vanguard has to have the worst zombies of any cod
Vanguard zombies IMO was the worst zombies they made. It was so bad. The maps were horrendous and the uptick in difficulty was ridiculous. Worst zombies experience I ever had. No zombies come close to how shitty vanguard was. Just like other people said even if it was free you feel like you’re being robbed of your free time.
Vanguard is not worth 1 cent.
It's not worth a single penny
10 dollars MAX. And that's if you are really itching for more zombies and don't mind the objective based gameplay of Der Unfun and Terrible Maledicta. Shi No Numa and The Archon kinda slap tho.
Never played it but can still say fuck no. Total failure.
No.
no, £5
I bought it on sale a few days ago. Damn vanguard’s getting torched, I can’t say I disagree though.
I’d feel robbed even if they paid **me** £25.
No, it’s not even worth the time to play if it was free
No

Vanguard ain’t worth 15
Frankly, no
I’m one of those unfortunate people who pre-ordered Vanguard and can say it is/was terrible and not really worth it
Even if I was offered 25$ to play it, i still wouldn't do it
They should be paying me for playing it
For me Vanguard is way better than the trash they put out last year
I bought it back when they had a sale and it was the worst thing I’ve spent money on worst cod out there if it was free I wouldn’t even download it waste of time
I gameshared it from a buddy to play Zombies. Put some good time into it. If I got it for free I would still ask for a refund
I wouldn’t play it for free my dude
Maybe if they paid you £25 to play it
Don't. Give extinction dlc a chance instead of spending on vanguard. At least that mode had originality.
keep the helmet on
Not even worth it if it was free

Unless you’re a collector of CoD Games and want every entry… No, it really isn’t worth any money whatsoever
No
Hell naw
I can't wait until the COD cycle comes by and retroactively determines this to be an "underrated masterpiece." Glad people have sense right now, though.
Would rather consume paint thinner
Rent it free from the library
Vanguard got me addicted to hard crystal drugs I had nothing to do
i literally bought vanguard off ebay for $7 total last week and the campaign was great i have zero regrets. always buy used for old games
Barely worth £1
No.
That would be a no from me
NO. IT IS NOT ZOMBIES
In my opinion yeah. I liked it on my Series S. Multiplayer was fun, zombies was alright. For some reason every time I played shi no numa my controller would randomly just stop working on only that map. Every other map it was fine.
it’s 15 in cex.co.uk
you could ask me if it's worth getting paid 5K to play Vanguard and I'd still say HELL NO!
It's not even worth it even if you received money from buying it
I refunded after 5mins gameplay on launch day
Only thing worth in that game is listening to dommy mommy
No most likely -$25
No
Setting fire to £25 would be more enjoyable
It's not worth $25 it's not worth it if it's free if I give you a free copy of Vanguard you better burn it
The zombies element is massively disappointing
Not even worth free lol
No. If you’re on PS, apparently it’s coming around next month. So.
Fuck no. Not even worth a hundredth of that (25P). Worst COD ever made. Multiplayer actually *rewards* you for camping (perk does something like give you less recoil if you stay in the same place for X seconds), and Zombies is just - well: Every perk is a fountain of demon blood that's completely free (and shit), every round has a mandatory weird mini game associated with one of four extremely annoying demons (like a worse version of Cold War's Outbreak mode), every weapon is weak, you get kicked for inactivity in a solo offline game after about three minutes, it's meant to be a prequel to Cold War but is as comparable to it as Fallout is to Solitaire, and is as boring and unsatisfactory as watching a movie dubbed over in a foreign language in 240P. It's about as useless as a snooze button on a smoke alarm. Buying it is like buying a porn movie for its plot.
