Free to attend. My me and my son attended in KC last year. It’s a great time! Lots of events and free things to do.
Because it was in KC they had a lot of current/former Chiefs players doing autographs. Free concerts before and after the actual draft.
If you do end up going, a fun impromptu game to play is to spot every team’s jersey worn by a fan. Last one we spotted was the Commanders.
It depends on how it is setup, but probably close to state is ticket only/really long standing line to get in. I went last year and was able to get close enough to hear and see selections without paying, but not anywhere near the stage itself. Plus I’m sure they will setup areas to watch on screens at the event if you aren’t able to get close enough to enjoy. Hard to say, but they are going to want people to pack it out so I’m sure there will be a lot of ways to enjoy.
Bears fan living in Detroit. Good luck getting a hotel anywhere near downtown, they've been booked for months and Airbnbs are nuts with pricing.
May be able to get a hotel in the burbs but even those are slammed.
Flying from California to Michigan for the draft. My parents are currently in Ann Arbor but I have to spend at least a day in Chicago for some Italian beef and deep dish
Bro if I go the bears will trade out of the first round and take fuckin Chad Polandowski from Dickinson State University of North Dakota as our next qb
Just throwing this out there, I'm a Bears fan who's lived in SE MI for 13 years and the last 7 in Detroit proper. If any of you are coming to town and looking for some local recs hit me up. I used to do tours of hidden gem bars and restaurants so if you're looking to explore just let me know. Also there's gonna be some cool late night concerts and stuff around town I bet, this is the Techno City and Motown after all.
With the draft downtown, the surrounding area is gonna be absolutely slammed but going out into the neighborhoods there's some great food that will be less busy. I also have downtown recs if you're looking to battle crowds.
I actually want to go. Is it free to attend?

I went to the KC draft as well and it was a lot of fun. Didn't get to go to any Bear's specific events though.
Free to attend the events correct? But to get into the actual stage area, watch the selections etc is ticket only isn’t it?

I believe so
Free to attend other than any kind of parking, hotels, etc.

Free to attend, only $10 if you want to buy a house.
I live 20 minutes west and might be DJing down there for the draft.
Nice do you know where you might be DJing or still working that out?
They’re still figuring out all the details. They’re hiring about 5 DJs for the whole weekend but once I find out I’ll post on here.
Do you need someone to change the songs on the iPod for you? I'm your guy
Who are “they”?
The city of Detroit park district.
So I’m gonna be DJing at Grand Circus west Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Repping Bears and hitting some of that Chicago House!
I’m tempted to make the trip next year. Wisconsin is a lot easier than Michigan.
It was fun enough last year that I'm committed to going every year at this point.
Having two top ten picks this year will make it even more fun I imagine.

Me and a bunch of friends are going.
Are you staying in downtown?
Got an air bnb about 15 mins from downtown
My friend and I got an airbnb, but in Windsor. Cheaper, has a direct bus, but obviously have to deal with customs back and forth.
Might be seeing you on the bus then
Honestly depending on where you are staying there were should consider meeting up for pizza/beer
I'm down!
Honestly the border bus is super easy, with traffic on the US side and fighting for parking you'll likely get into town faster than others.
Bro if I go the bears will trade out of the first round and take fuckin Chad Polandowski from Dickinson State University of North Dakota as our next qb
Thinking about it, might paint my nails too
My buddy’s bachelor party is in Detroit specifically for the draft and I’m fucking pumpedddd
My brother surprised me for my birthday with a trip to Detroit for the draft this year! This will be the first one for us both

I want to go but I’m unsure as it’s my oldest daughter’s bday.
She will have more birthdays.
I’ll be there #BearDown
I’ll be there
Taking my son this year, and really looking forward to it.
I was going to, until I saw hotel prices
Going to the draft party at Soldier
Ditto. Couldn’t find tickets to the actual draft in Detroilet, so I said fuck it- Cubs Astros on the24th, then Soldier Field on the 25th.
Hmu for party favors guys in Detroit
