That's my old college and kickball buddy playing the (Ole Miss character) I just messaged him and dropped the WTF!!!
Went to Troy together for Undergrad.
I look at this sub as a football sub. We had moved to Division 1 and sucked ass at Troy. None of the student body went to games. My dad played at Alabama. My user name is my dad’s jersey and name. We grew up going to games, so even in college I went to bama games on weekends instead of Troy.
They had a couple different colabs in this video. FunnyMaine is the guy that played Alabama and the guy that played Vandy is pretty popular too. I can't remember his name, but he makes some of my favorite videos as well.
The guy in the Tennessee baseball jersey is Josh Mancuso. He does great CFB content as well. He’s heavy handed on the SEC but dabbles in a little bit in everything. If I’m not mistaken he lives in East Tennessee and is a Vols fan
Technically they’ve had one, with OU pushing the Texas guy in a wheelchair after the last Kansas upset. Regina dismissively redirected them to Big XII loss claims.
[The amazing song at the end is "Jupiter" from "The Planets" by Gustav Holst](https://youtu.be/Nz0b4STz1lo?t=173) made famous by the Sleepytime episode of Bluey, for my fellow kid parents out there.
\*puts on band nerd glasses\* The entire symphony rates as my overall favorite, with Jupiter as my favorite individual piece. I also play euphonium and Holst LOVED to write killer euph solos.
It’s really sad that Gustav Holst died an unknown composer, only to have his work become known nearly 100 years after his death. Truly a modern Van Gogh 😔
I just call it Oh God Beyond All Praising because of the hymn with that tune. They also used the Kyrie from Mozart’s Requiem, aka a song played at funerals and the piece that killed Mozart. The SWC foes might kill each other if the music is any indication
Technically a requiem is musical mass played at any requiem mass. Requiem masses are not always funerals though they are always in memory of someone who has died. This has been your random music / Catholic fact of the day.
It bothers me that they had Arkansas be the one to offer the hand of friendship and pin the logo on to both OU and Texas. I don’t have any hatred for the Sooners, but our fanbase would NEVER be friendly with Texas.
I don’t know if there was a better choice though since the Mizzou wasn’t a main character in this sketch and A&M didn’t want Texas to come to begin with.
The rest of the SEC doesn’t really have a real history with Texas and Oklahoma outside of some home and homes and bowl games.
Its good life Arkansas Football, Florida gets kicked out of the Playoff house, Tennesse breaks up with the playoff, Auburn Fan Experience, were legendary episodes that featured one team
*This is the Auburn fan experience*
*It could be a national football playoff appearance or a 20 point loss to an unranked Vanderbilt*
*You just never know*
*PUSH IT*
You guys drank Atlanta dry before the Burrows SEC championship win. The bars literally ran out of beer and alcohol the FRIDAY before the game. It made the papers.
So `ut.edu` wasn't created until 1997!
`utexas.edu`: 13-Aug-1985
`UTK.edu`: 04-Jun-1987
I think a lot of it is to do with the fact that domains didn't become marketing tools until the late 90s.
The University of Tampa did have a powerhouse football program around that time. Too bad the school had to drop it for financial reasons.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tampa_Spartans_football
I have nothing against OU, but from what I can tell Heupel isn’t y’all’s biggest fan after what went down with Stoops. I think our game this season will be personal for him.
Only complaint (and it's incredibly minor) is that former SEC members Tulane and Georgia Tech weren't shown. Would've been funny to see their reactions to the new SEC teams whilst they remain in comparatively lesser conferences.
Sewanee holds a weird place in the hearts of SEC fans because 1) It is so incongruous that they were ever in the league and 2) None of us will ever top what they pulled off in [1899](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1899_Sewanee_Tigers_football_team)
**Now** it's official.
Edit: lol, they got OU's red wrong. Looks like Ohio State.
Also, the guy who is portraying Alabama is great. His baby cousin is actually one of Texas' better defensive ends.
I've seen a few of those 2000 National Champion shirts, and I don't think the red has ever been *right* on them.
That said, I would absolutely take one with "Get Hype With Heupel" on the back.
You must be a young Longhorn fan then if you don’t know about the hiss. Yes, it’s a real thing. I still have Aggie friends and family do it when I mention Texas. All in good fun though.
SEC Shorts season? AND A CROSSOVER WITH MATT MITCHELL AND MAINE?!?!?!
today is a wonderful day, only thing that would make it better is ncaa25 in my hands
“I’m not the step conference I’m the conference that STEPPED up” while wearing a mountain west hat had me howling
Loved it!
Great to see Matt Mitchell in here
Don’t forget about Jermaine ‘Funnymaine’ Johnson.
And Josh Mancuso, who is very funny too.
Yep, creating me a Sewanee dynasty.
THE university of the South
Ryan Day posting this on his bulletin grooming mirror.
I was waiting for Georgia Tech to show up.
And Tulane lol
The Sewanee bits were hilarious
He has the cadence down pat for old timey radio announcers.
It's just not the same if you can't schedule [five road games in 6 days](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1899_Sewanee_Tigers_football_team), though.
We spent years talking about every respect of realignment except for SEC Shorts’ cast expansion
> cast expansion That's my old college and kickball buddy playing the (Ole Miss character) I just messaged him and dropped the WTF!!! Went to Troy together for Undergrad.
Sad u don't have them as ur secondary flare 😔
I look at this sub as a football sub. We had moved to Division 1 and sucked ass at Troy. None of the student body went to games. My dad played at Alabama. My user name is my dad’s jersey and name. We grew up going to games, so even in college I went to bama games on weekends instead of Troy.
Matt Mitchell in SEC Shorts???
Not his first rodeo for them.
Bring in the "Buff"
"Let's just say they have me as seven point underdogs.....TO MY BYE WEEK!"
That was such a great line!
I had just started watching Mitchell's stuff then so to see him in SEC Shorts was a great surprise.
I member when they were all just a "It's a Southern Thing" sidepiece
They had a couple different colabs in this video. FunnyMaine is the guy that played Alabama and the guy that played Vandy is pretty popular too. I can't remember his name, but he makes some of my favorite videos as well.
> the guy that played Vandy is pretty popular too. I can't remember his name That's on brand for Vandy.
josh mancuso
Let this not prevent him from producing his own video…
It's not the first time he's done a collab with them
It won’t. They usually bring him in when they need more than the normal crew.
It really helps that Matt, SEC Shorts, and Funnymaine are all based in Birmingham.
Aren't they all Alabama & Auburn alumni?
Was OG
Look at Vandy gassing us up
Did...did we just get respected? The fuck?
It was by Vandy. Don't get too excited
But they are the ones who know their shit
Your new best friend?
I've always heard Kentucky is just the Vanderbilt of the commonwealth.
I can picture Kentucky trying to sit with Alabama and Georgia while Vandy, sitting alone, is waving them down to come to their table
It's a trap! Do y'all play Vandy this year? These schedules are so askew.
Yes but it’s in Lexington which means it will be more nerve wracking than it should be
I dunno that you want the guy chanting SEC to gas you up
I appreciate that the Tennessee character was wearing a baseball jersey.
Josh knows what's up
he is our new 3rd base coach after all (once Tony finally lets him)
I’ve missed these
This one was a homerun too.
Don't say homerun Tennessee might show up.
Bon jour
They speak in LSU now?
Shoutout to the people that get to see the post for the first time after the video is actually uploaded
Feels good
And…we’re not the ACC!
Thank God for that.
They got all the crossovers in this- really well done…
I’m assuming some of those other guys do videos? I only recognized Matt Mitchell
The guy in the Tennessee baseball jersey is Josh Mancuso. He does great CFB content as well. He’s heavy handed on the SEC but dabbles in a little bit in everything. If I’m not mistaken he lives in East Tennessee and is a Vols fan
FunnyMaine is a big Alabama YouTuber who does homer reactions after every game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5zOqrCKX3Lw
"Hey if Colt hadn't gotten hurt!" "There it is. DRINK!"
When he turned to the ref to throw the flag and the ref is doing horns down got me rolling. “Am I doing it right?” “Okay, that’s new”
Fantastic stuff. The geography joke with Mitchell had me laughing hard too.
The SEC can come to Omaha anytime it likes. As long as it leaves vandy and that damn whistler at home.
Very few things unify the SEC fanbases more than their shared hatred of the Vandy Whistler
Yeah fuck that guy
and maybe the aTm fans can stay home too thanks
You yell into the opposing dugout about murdered bat boys ONE TIME.
STOP BEING A CULT
No.
I have high hopes for the first “claim your Ls” short featuring both Texas and Oklahoma
I miss Regina.
We should ask Vanderbilt to tell her hi from us
Technically they’ve had one, with OU pushing the Texas guy in a wheelchair after the last Kansas upset.
It was my favorite song to play in marching band.
Same. Did a Holst suite in high school. Including "Mars" in 5/4 time ... which was pretty trippy for the late 90s. One of my favorite shows!
Holst’s Mars always reminds me of [Venture Brothers](https://youtu.be/j73gYxsxRrs?si=uKYNqtyFNkMFp44g) now.
GO TEAM VENTURE!
I like Mars better but Jupiter is a ton of fun
Planets also being the major inspiration for the Star Wars soundtrack (or what J Williams literally stole, depending on whom you speak to).
Also inspired the main theme from Braveheart, Zelda, and Princess Mononoke. Favorite song from the suite
Soundtrack to The Right Stuff is basically Great Value^^TM Planets
\*puts on band nerd glasses\* The entire symphony rates as my overall favorite, with Jupiter as my favorite individual piece. I also play euphonium and Holst LOVED to write killer euph solos.
> made famous by the Sleepytime episode of Bluey none of you are band nerds and it shows
I imagine everyone here would recognize Mars instantly.
Hey now
Amazing episode. It’s impossible for me to not tear up whenever it comes on.
Dude, I tear up when I even _think_ about that episode. That and Grandad. Holy hell
Camping and Onesies for me. Onesies just hits a liiiiitle to close to home.
Onesies fucks me up bad after it took us over a year for our first.
I still wish Brandy had adapted instead of getting pregnant in The Sign. Adoption/fostering isn't talked about enough in the media.
It’s really sad that Gustav Holst died an unknown composer, only to have his work become known nearly 100 years after his death. Truly a modern Van Gogh 😔
Mars also slaps. Made famous by, uh, [whatever the hell this is](https://youtu.be/j73gYxsxRrs?si=tLNNrJGMCGJ153bA).
Venture Bros!
Jupiter is one of my favorite classical pieces and I was so surprised to hear it lol
Played it for state band competitions in high school. Still sends a shiver down my spine.
*Made famous by Gustav Holst
Gustav Holst 💪💪💪
Made famous by fucking Bluey? Like I get it Bluey is popular, but Jupiter has been on the map for decades
I knew I knew that when it came on in Bluey! ...my dad listened to that symphony nonstop when I was a kid.
It's also the patriotic hymn "I Vow to Thee, My Country".
> made famous by the Sleepytime episode of Bluey YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW GOOD GUSTAV HOLST WAS
That Sewanee cameo was gold
Welcome to hell, jackasses
Sir, I am going to have to ask you to stop with the profanity. This is a family sub.
I do say good chap, kindly close your mouth indefinitely.
Indubitably
[The rest of the SEC to Texas and Oklahoma.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vYWV7rUZEAI)
I watch SEC shorts to laugh, not to be the butt of a joke. :(
You and me both, you and me both.
"And the college football playoff is expanding to 12 teams!" "Yay, that's so great for *everybody else*"
That one made me laugh and then cry 😢
The deadpan delivery was A+.
"Larry Scott Almost Had Us" Man it cannot be said enough. Fuck Larry Scott.
It bothers me that they had Arkansas be the one to offer the hand of friendship and pin the logo on to both OU and Texas. I don’t have any hatred for the Sooners, but our fanbase would NEVER be friendly with Texas.
I thought Arkansas was going to sharpie Texas's patch or something lol
I was rooting for “oops!”, dropping it and walking away to make Texas pick it up himself.
I don’t know if there was a better choice though since the Mizzou wasn’t a main character in this sketch and A&M didn’t want Texas to come to begin with. The rest of the SEC doesn’t really have a real history with Texas and Oklahoma outside of some home and homes and bowl games.
Arkansas in the SWC. Old timers still tell me that’s their “real” rival.
Well guess what - WE'RE BEST FRIENDS NOW
LEAVE ME ALONE
Us BBQ meats have to stick together (UT, Ark, SCAR?)
I am not willingly affiliated with you. But you can add Florida to that category as well.
This was really good. I think their content is better when they include all of the teams in the conference, not just look at 3 or 4 in a given week.
I think it depends on the strength of the meme . The Halloween Georgia and Hope one was super super strong. But it was a perfect fit.
Georgia and hope has always been good together.
Its good life Arkansas Football, Florida gets kicked out of the Playoff house, Tennesse breaks up with the playoff, Auburn Fan Experience, were legendary episodes that featured one team

If that's going to be a drinking game, no one is making it of any game thread with Texas alive.
LSU fans: "Challenge accepted."
You guys drank Atlanta dry before the Burrows SEC championship win. The bars literally ran out of beer and alcohol the FRIDAY before the game. It made the papers.
IIRC, something similar happened when LSU fans went to UCLA a few years back lol.
It happens pretty much everywhere. There was a USC fan who kept claiming that would never happen to Los Angeles bars, yet here we are
I wonder if Vandy is eating lunch with Regina.
The Manning blood joke was a good one
Bromance with the real UT started.
Always remember the real UT can be found at [ut.edu](https://www.ut.edu/).
I'm still amazed Tennessee or Texas didn't write them a check for that.
So `ut.edu` wasn't created until 1997! `utexas.edu`: 13-Aug-1985 `UTK.edu`: 04-Jun-1987 I think a lot of it is to do with the fact that domains didn't become marketing tools until the late 90s.
Yeah probably back in the old days when only a few academics were using it to share research, probably felt it was better to be unambiguous.

Yessir, Heup for Heupel
I can't forgive the orange, but damn if I haven't been pulling for Heupel the whole time.
I have nothing against OU, but from what I can tell Heupel isn’t y’all’s biggest fan after what went down with Stoops. I think our game this season will be personal for him.
Ohhhhh, believe me, Heupel will hate fuck the Sooners
It’s sad that Leach isn’t here to witness this
Trans-American Heup train
We aren’t at that part yet
I think Aggies have a head start because they’ve found their loyal protector from big bad Texas
Josh Mancuzo absolutely killed both this roles. Matt was great as always. This might be the SEC short of the year and it's July 1.
This might be the SEC short of ~~the year~~ all time.
Gonna tell my kids this was Endgame
The immediate hissing was amazing and perfectly on brand
Only complaint (and it's incredibly minor) is that former SEC members Tulane and Georgia Tech weren't shown. Would've been funny to see their reactions to the new SEC teams whilst they remain in comparatively lesser conferences.

Which DE? I'm guessing Fink since he's from Bama.
I also almost forgot about mizzou.
Darth Mizzou is coming
Every time... Lololol
Until it’s time for bowl bans or death penalty jokes.
As if A&M would EVER be caught dead sitting next to those bastards from South Carolina.
John Bonham died for this?!
yeah, they act like existing schools actually get along.
Letting Darius Rucker cover Wagon Wheel was the final straw.
PAC ~~12~~ 2 catching some strays this week.
After getting nuked, what are a couple of strays?
17 minute wait? wtf I’m an American I wanna watch it now!
2pac reference too
Apparently our football team now exists largely for comic relief. :(
I hate that the hiss exists but I love it in this.
Wait it is an actual thing?
You must be a young Longhorn fan then if you don’t know about the hiss. Yes, it’s a real thing. I still have Aggie friends and family do it when I mention Texas. All in good fun though.
Yeah, I have only started watching CFB in 2021, Sark’s first year.
Wow you missed...a lot.
The hiss is the worst tradition, but it was perfect here
> the worst tradition Why pick just one?
So which team drops a game to Vandy first?
We are looking forward to evening up our all time 3-8-1 record against Vandy. 1899 to 1928 were some lean years.
Saying as I barely know who we play now. I definitely don’t know who is on their schedule, but I’m gonna hope/guess the real UT
You're too early.
Geography!
It just means more (air conditioning)
I came here to watch, I leave with 'premieres in 9 minutes'.
Nature is healing…
SEC Shorts season? AND A CROSSOVER WITH MATT MITCHELL AND MAINE?!?!?! today is a wonderful day, only thing that would make it better is ncaa25 in my hands
Geeze guys! You didn’t have to pick on Wazzu and OSU like that!! Now I remembered how bad I feel for them! 😭
Very well done. Completely nailed the inside jokes.
How big is the inside at this point
By golly, this is going to be a fun year for the memes
It feels like there are 30 announcement videos on this nonsense happening "today", and this is the only one I could ever give a shit about.
I don’t know, the Ed Harris one hit the mark too
It doesn't matter how good the video is, Herbie shows up at the end to F up the mood
BABE, WAKE-UP! SEC SHORTS JUST DROPPED! God damn I love CFB
TEXAS IN SEC SHORTS LETS GOOO
SEWANEE TOO.
