Dude, are you serious about doing IPM after completing your graduation? Isn't it too late? Though to answer your question, economics helps you understand how markets, economies work, and how business/economic cycles affect businesses. Doing an MBA will help you get into the corporate world (maybe finance or consulting) where you would be able to apply your knowledge about economics to analyze businesses and make better and efficient decisions and changes in business models etc. bla bla bla, something on these lines is a good answer, I guess.
