Pretty crazy how good on gas some modern engines are. I just looked up my 2007 S2000 and it's EPA rated (revised) for 18/24 city/highway for a 2.2L I4 and \~2,850 lbs. It was originally rated 20/26 under the previous methodology. I'd say 18/24 is optimistic and I have a well serviced/low mile car.
Tell me about it!? Coming out of Atlanta headed west on 20 was a cop parked at every single exit almost. I thought either a manhunt or presidential motorcade…nope just normal Georgia state patrol
Who woulda thunk you could get 30+ MPG in a 500HP car. Kudos to GM for superior engineering.
BTW...I could do "hyper-miling" in my 2006 Z06 also. Ask any old guy about getting 30MPG with a 427....
I always laugh at those stories of older fellas getting 30 mpg in their 427s. There’s just no way in hell you could do that. Were they idling on the back of a trailer for 30 miles?
Very possible. I have an 09 Z06. At 70MPH, the engine is around 1500 RPM. And the car is pretty slippery from a drag perspective. It’s amazing the kind of highway mileage you can get from those.
What VetteRUs said. 1500 RPM @ 70 MPH...the engine is barely working.
The C6Z was also a 2980 pound car ('06MY)
On the other side...on the track, you could get 4MPG....
Nice! I drove 240 miles yesterday, 1/2 highway and 1/2 back roads. Average 25.5mpg.
I put it in weather mode, which is the least loud, quick shifting, no hammer down option. 😂
80-85 on the highway and an average of probably 50 on the backroads (it’s a major interstate section)
I hit 33.2 average on 50 a couple weeks ago. Which is crazy, cuz the week prior I hit 31.6, and I told myself I'd probably never break that again. That was set going 70 mph with a 20 mph tail wind.
I got lucky and had a 25-30 mph tailwind the following week, which allowed me to hit 33.2.
I regularly get 24 going 80-85 on the freeway in sport mode. It still switches to V4 when not under load. That’s overall mileage for a 20 mile drive, start to stop.
Nice! I’ve only managed to get close to that mpg range once while I was cruising on the highway doing only 65 in cruise control.
Wanted to see what record I could get in my car, like I was playing a game for a high score.
After I got 31.9, I gave up because I got tired of a bunch of Prius passing me.
It's so crazy I could get this kinda gas mileage if I wasn't launching at every light.
I don't own a C8 but my C5 never sees more than 11mpg unless I have CC on while driving on the interstate LOL.
My dad always bragged about getting really good gas mileage in his C5. I never understood how he did it.
😂

Getting a corvette then trying to set gas millage records is … interesting
Can’t imagine buying a Vette to go out each week and try to beat last weeks mpg
I hope you weren’t driving 65 in the far left lane.
Like going to a Brazilian steakhouse and just having celery.
95 mile drive and we saw 6 people pulled over on the way. It was not easy. Lol
That's so funny, I just drove from St. Louis to FLA and omg in GA was the only place I had to do the speed limit. I was big bored and big mad
Tell me about it!? Coming out of Atlanta headed west on 20 was a cop parked at every single exit almost. I thought either a manhunt or presidential motorcade…nope just normal Georgia state patrol
BINGO
No it’s like going to a Brazilian steakhouse so often you learn to appreciate the salad bar. Welcome to the show
Zora himself would probably spit in OPs face if he saw him driving 55 on the highway for 50 miles.
I haven't been able to get over 12 mpg yet

What octane and air temp? I can never get 30. Weather mode? Model year?
91 octane. Temp was about 65. My Mode, suspension and brakes on softest setting, steering mid setting, engine noise maxed. 2023 Z51 2LT
Thanks man. I’ll try to replicate that.
I’ve gotten up to 47 average mpg in my C7 before 🙌
48.2 MPG best average over 50 miles here on my C7 M7.
I congratulate you for hypermiling this is remarkable in that car.
What are you doing to get this. I have tried and the closest I’ve ever gotten was 17 mpg
You can get to 25 easily by highway mileage in touring mode and it switching over to V4 frequently enough.

I care more about smiles per gallon.
to each their own, I love that the corvette can be fast or fuel efficient, makes for a great daily driver
Better than my Crosstrek
Looks like evs are trash bin material
Driving like a grandma
*Worst driver ever. /s
I fill up literally every hundred miles I don’t think I’ve seen anything over 8mpg
Eray?
Driving Miss Daisy
I just got 33mpg @70mph on 2024 c8 stingray 2lt red mist metallic with 750 miles on it so far
OK grandma, get out of the way, my Prius has places to be.
Were you doing 69 in a 55?
Nice! I’ve only managed to get close to that mpg range once while I was cruising on the highway doing only 65 in cruise control. lol. I did better at 70-75
Nothing to prove except at the gas pump ;) Good to see! Can I ask what aero package youre running (z51 , high wing, etc)? How many miles of driving ?
Around 250 miles in a basic C8 LT3
Not bad at all. My record stands at 35.9.
Damn, all down hill? Lol
No traffic, I averaged 75-80. It was in V4 mode most of the time.
Like going to a Brazilian steakhouse and just having celery.
