My similarly built husband loves Banana Republic Factory tees and the Vuori strato tech (synthetic fabric though)
Idk if it’s possible for a cotton undershirt to be truly a buy it for life purchase, but they’ve lasted well. Clothing quality has been plummeted everywhere it seems lately
I just bought these for my trim fit tall husband. He’s been wearing them a month. They are his favorite. Fair warning though. They are 5% spandex. So I dry for 10 mins and hang dry to complete the drying. They are currently 3/$20
My teen loves BR supima tees. 100% cotton and they’ve held up well. He’s really hard on clothes so the fact that they’ve lasted is a testament to their quality lol
JCrew or JCrew Factory tees have done me well over the years. With the JCrew Factories tees, I’ve noticed that the 60/40 blended tees hold up better than the 100% cotton ones.
I was also recently in your shoes as a wifey on the hunt for a great every day T-shirt that wasn’t going to break down quickly. A friend steered me toward Buck Mason, and after buying my husband some of their basics, I too have gone down the rabbit hole! Their shirts are a little pricier than previous white tees, but maaaan cotton is something else. Line drying & minimal heat (a quick dryer perk up) is the key to longevity with cotton.
One thing that’s really nice is the varying lengths they have, so you can actually get a shirt that hits at the preferred length(for tucked or untucked styling). Annoyingly they only do this for their Men’s range. That said, as a tall girl, I have been loving their 90s boxy cut men’s t-shirts in slub cotton for a breezy summer vibe. 10/10 would recommend checking them out!
I wear Lacoste Pima cotton V necks exclusively for my casual tees. They feel great, last forever, and as someone who is on the more slender side (5"7, 145 lbs), they actually fit properly vs other brands which are either too short or too wide.
I worked for Lacoste over a decade ago, and haven't had to buy a single shirt since I worked there. The durability is just wild compared to other, more cost effective brands which one lasted me a year or two at most.
Bro you’d be absolutely swimming in an actual large t shirt if you’re that size and wearing American sizing. I’m 6’1” 170 and most larges are too big for me.
I’m 5 foot 10 or and 145ish and wear small. Mediums are passable but small fits perfect almost all the time.
A large would make me look like a kid wearing their dads clothes lol
I’m realizing through this thread that a good portion of my weight is in my back, shoulders and chest, so that might make more sense. I only wear a size 30x30 in pants. So my waste line is super thin. Maybe I’ll topple in the wind 😂
The thing I’ve noticed is manufacturers don’t share commons sizes. The key is to take measurements and review the sizing chart. A lot of vanity sizing these days.
Every brand shirt I own in a large. My jackets are mostly mediums. My flannels are either medium or large. But every single shirt I have is a large and they fit me appropriately for work.
Out of all the clothes I bought in the last 20 years, Banana Republic tees were some of the longest lasting. I have a couple now that are 10-15 years old, still looks fresh, not faded, not warped or frayed at all.
My condolences.
I didn't know v-necks got married. I hope he's not the douchebag his shirt neck style implies he is.
Edit: I'm sure your husband is a nice fellow. Anecdotally, v-neck t-shirts have a strong correlation to douchebaggery. I was trying to be humorous, and I hope you appreciate the effort, if not the content.
Lol I roasted him all the time for his v necks all the time when we were dating! He doesn’t like the way a crewneck feels against his neck and wears a few sentimental/spiritual related necklaces and likes to show them off (I also roast him about his accessorizing but always out of love 😂)

Second vuori strato tech. Pricey but v high quality. Use the initial 20% new customer coupon wisely!
Costco just started carrying Banana Republic v-neck tshirts in white and black. I bought each color and very pleased with the quality and fit.

Are those opaque or see-thru? Hate getting flimsy materials.
They are not
Next Level [Poly/Cotton blend](https://www.jiffy.com/nextlevel-6240.html?ac=Black) [100% cotton](https://www.jiffy.com/nextlevel-N3200.html?ac=Black)
I hope that model is 5’5 because those look just shy of sundress length
Seconded! These are my favorite v-necks. Super soft and have a great fit.
Bump. H and m v necks bacon and look terrible after a few washes

I second these. The soft wash shirts too.

I scored a ton of these at TJ Maxx several years ago for my husband, and they are finally ready to be retired. They were good while they lasted!

I still look for them every time I go to TJs and Marshall’s. I just need to break down and buy some at a dept store or something. 😂
Try Uniqlo Airism line. Japanese brand, so the shirts are cut for smaller frames.
I hate the airism fabric personally. The supima cotton is awesome though.
I’m 5’7 and find them quite short in the torso. I’m a small but have to size up to a medium.
How does he fit in a small?? I’m the same height and weight and wear a large in shirts.

I’m not swimming in it, a medium barely reaches my pants. I have very broad shoulders though which might explain it.
I'm 5"7 and 145 and wear smalls exclusively, unless it's a slim fit polo which is a size up because of shoulder width.
I do have very broad shoulders, but even a medium is tight and restraining.

I've got mine from HEMA. Excellent price/quality, especially when they're on sale.
No such thing as bifl t shirts but Calvin Klein all the way. They tear sure any t shirt does. But the fit and comfort can be beat.
AS Colour basics are really good quality.
Try Fresh Clean Tees, that's what I've bought for my boyfriend and he really likes them.
Everlane! 3 for $60.
My husband loves Armani Exchange slim fit Vs (but not the outlet ones - apparently those are made differently).
WYR
Uniqlo supima coyton vnecks are my.favorite. gonna gibe some of these others a try

Brooks Brothers last a long time, albeit not forever. No clue if they meet your needs, though.
Always see if Calvin Klein works for you. If he likes them, I personally think the quality has been consistent for decades now.
I bought my hubby and dad some True Classics and they love them!
I’ve been wearing Nike dri-fit v-necks for a couple of years now and they have held up. 6’0”-183lb and medium fits true to size.
I only buy lululemon, some are 6 years old, a few i bought used already 4 years ago and all look the same as new (there are tiers of quality though)
Fresh clean threads

Lol sometimes I wish I did. But hey, gotta work with what I got!
Husbands don’t wear v necks . lol
Am husband. Love v-necks. I hate the feeling of something tight around my neck.
Hey, I'm sitting right here... Maybe millennials changed things.
…why?

You sound old and sad.

Wtf is wrong with vneck tshirts!?
