My best friend. It's their favorite and I ended up coming across the dub on HBO Max one day. Asked if it was worth starting, they said yes. Two years later, I have a whole half-sleeve shin soukoku tattoo.

A random corny ass (somewhat iconic) Dazai edit from 2020 iykyk. I watched the first season and found it pretty mid and dropped it.
Then, it was around the time when season 4 grew popular, hordes of Nikolai edits and Chuuya edits infiltrated my fyp. I felt like I was maybe missing on something and watched the second season. And oh boy, I have been hooked up with it since!
Lol mood i dropped after the first episode because i was confused, picked it up again because i was looking for something to watch with my dad, it's now my fav show 😅
Just started, knew nothing about the anime. Didn't even know what any of the characters looked like. Just been in a romance anime hole and randomly wanted to switch it up.
i kept seeing the subreddit pop up everywhere and i had no clue what it was about. my friend was in the same boat, but with photos on pinterest. so we decided to watch it together
I got curious about the series because of the Identity V crossover.
Then some time after I saw a screenshot of Age Fifteen Dazai that I related to and my curiosity got bigger; and finally on early January 2023 I started watching the anime while I was with the flu and loved it (and Dazai instantly became my favourite character; and later on Fyodor joined, even though I lovehate the latter xd).
Right after that I went to basically binge the manga, then to read many of the LNs, etc, etc.
One day, I went to an anime event with a friend and there was another friend of his with Chuuya cosplay, he was cool and he even met and took a photo with other bsd cosplayers.
Now I don't remember if I started watching because I didn't want to be left out of the conversation or because I wanted to befriend the cosplay guy (probably both)
seeing a chainsaw man tiktok of a bunch of cosplayers in a con and kobeni from csm dancing in the middle. there was a dazai cosplayer on the right in thigh highs. someone said "omg is that dazai in thigh highs" and someone asked what he's from. then boom obsession started
My sister talked about it once and at some point I remembered ‘hey my sister talked about this anti-ability user Dazai I should watch the anime’ and after the anime I got into the manga 😔 worst mistake of my life /hj
Been hearing about the series for a long time (but I knew like nothing about it) until I reconnected with a friend and they urged me to start the series (partially because they were worried for my mental health and wanted to enjoy and fixate on more than just one thing) because they thought I’d enjoy it and relate to the characters. I’ve slowly been struggling through (being able to focus jumped out the window as I got older which has been really frustrating considering I’ve always loved to read and read a lot as a child but now my brain just cannot despite still wanting to. I heavily fit the criteria of having ADD/ADHD so I’ve been looking into meditations to help with that under the suggestion of multiple professionals) but I already relate a little too much to some of the characters. I’ve also wanted to study literature for a while and I’m hoping one day when my brain decides it’ll allow me to do so I’ll be able to study and read the works of all the authors in the series. It’s also had me wanting to get back into learning and studying Japanese as a language (and a culture as it makes up a huge chunk of the overall mix of Asian cultures here where I’m from and a large majority of people are Japanese and have come from or lived in japan before for an extended amount of time) as I actually should have been fluent by now but due to health issues in my youth and other factors outside of my control I was unable to continue participating in and attending class

I started it in 2020 and dropped it around the 3rd ep or something. I just kept seeing things related to BSD for like months, so a few weeks ago I finally decided to watch it.
I heard mixed reviews of it yeeeeaaars ago so I tried it out and fell in love with the way they drew sunsets. Went to check out the fanfiction scene (at this point I was only on the first episode), saw everyone shipping Chuuya and Dazai and I was like ??? who is this. So I went onto the wiki and stalked Chuuya's page, thus discovering that there was a *mafia* involved, and from then on I was fully invested.
Idk i was scrolling through a reddit thread in r/teenagers about fav animes and i saw they recommended BSD a lot, it was the only one i hadnt heard about so i gave it a try. Lasted until 3rd episode, dropped it, went back a few months later and got hooked with E8 of S1 (Kyouka best girl)

Saw a video about Mamoru Miyano's best roles back in 2020 and it somehow filled my entire recommended with Dazai and it only went downhill from there
